Bedford-Stuyvesant Apartment Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 5

Make this charming apartment your home away from home in Brooklyn! With a private entrance in our brownstone home, the apartment has old Brooklyn charm with modern comfort. Located on a quiet, tree-lined block that was named the Greenest Block in Brooklyn in summer 2015 by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's just a 3-minute walk to the subway station (the 'A' line, an express train) and a short subway ride to attractions in Brooklyn and Manhattan (about 20 minutes to Greenwich Village or downtown Manhattan). Grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and other amenities are within short walking distance. A great spot for families (we welcome children 6 years and older). A perfect base for exploring all New York City has to offer. We live underneath the vacation rental, so it's easy for us to receive you and give you the keys, and we're happy to recommend our favorite spots and things to do!

Suitability:
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed
  • unsuitable for elderly or infirm

About Kate and Brian

A translator and a teacher, we live underneath the vacation rental (it has its own private entrance) with our two kids. Some of our favorite things to do in New York are walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and eating in Chinatown, visiting great museums like the Met, MoMA, and the Brooklyn Museum, and enjoying cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery while strolling through Greenwich Village.

Kate and Brian purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Kate and Brian chose Brooklyn

We love this calm, pretty block with friendly neighbors, and the fact that it's so close to the A train with easy access into Manhattan.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is spacious and filled with light, and we've stocked it with guidebooks and a collection of DVDs with movies set in Brooklyn and New York City.

Perfectly cozy apartment in the heart of Brooklyn

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay in this rustic apartment, just what we were hoping for. Kitchen is well stocked, bedroom is super spacious and both air conditioners worked like a charm, thank goodness! Kate gave us some great recommendations for coffee shops, restaurants, etc that were very close by. All in all, we had a wonderful time here!

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of four) had a lovely stay in this apartment in October 2015. We loved the large windows, the brick wall, the well-kept wooden floors and the view from the master bedroom out on to the,for us Europeans – typical New York street!

Everything worked well with the booking, payment and keys. The apartment was nice and clean and it had what the ad promised. The location, only a short walk from a Subway station, was very convenient for reaching the places we went to such as Mid-town Manhattan, Battery park, Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island and JKF. The apartment was nicely heated, the water was warm enough and the kitchen had what was needed to make breakfast or cook a meal (the latter we didn’t do though…).

The neighbourhood felt safe, also for us coming back with two children in the evening-time.

The only negative thing we have to say is that the master bed was quite squeaky but this was not a major problem.

Kate and Brian were kind and helpful and we felt welcome in the apartment.

We would be happy to recommend the apartment to family and friends!

Appartement bien situé à Brooklyn

  • 4 of 5

Appartement agréable et bien situé, à proximité du métro de la ligne A à Brooklyn, dans une maison. Les propriétaires sont charmants. L'appartement est idéal pour deux voire trois personnes et permet de découvrir facilement New York.

Beautiful, quiet, comfortable -- a wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this beautiful apartment for two months and had a lovely, peaceful experience. The apartment was gleaming and spotless when I arrived and there were even fresh apples and fresh flowers waiting for me, along with pantry items and detailed information about the neighborhood. The queen bed was wonderful to sleep in and there was very little street noise. Kate and Brian were the perfect hosts in that they were always available but never intrusive. I’ll also say that they clearly have a great love for the neighborhood and close ties to their neighbors, which meant that people tended to be quite friendly as they saw me coming and going from the house.

I would highly recommend this rental and this neighborhood in general, which I found to be safe and low-key as well as interesting. Big plus that this apartment is so close to the A express train.

Oh, and the wide planked hardwood floors are GORGEOUS!
