About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-9)

This charming home is in Costa Del Sol at Playa Bejuco, a private, gated community located on Costa Rica's Central Pacific Coast area, between Jaco and Manuel Antonio. Costa del Sol features two community pools, palapas, tennis and volleyball areas, and a BBQ Rancho with wireless internet capability. 24 hour security personnel. A pleasant 400 meter/10 minute walk down the road brings you to Playa Bejuco, an uncrowded Blue Flag beach.

For surfers, the water is uncrowded and rated mid to high skill level. At the same time, the beach break is gentle, making the area kid-friendly. On a busy day, you might find ten people on the beach. (usually an older couple riding scores of nice little inside waves with the kids). We named our house 'Hola, Olas!' (hello, waves) because of the wave time we crave! The surf at Playa Bejuco is beach break with excellent tubes at times. Just a few miles to the north is awesome reef break at Esterillos oeste, and countless spots in between.

Nearby, you'll find plenty of things to do: canopy tours, fishing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. Restaurants range from very casual to formal dining, all within an hour up or down the coast.

This is a quiet, relaxing place, away from crowds. But, if you like action, you're not far from just about anything. The small village of Esterillos Oeste is just a few minutes drive to the north, with some fun bars and restaurants. The big surf towns of Hermosa and Jaco are just twenty minutes drive to the north, with all the ammenities of any Costa Rican city. San Jose is only a two-hour drive away. The Arenal Volcano is four-hour drive (and well worth it).

About Cathy Feller

We are Steve and Cathy Feller and live in Colorado. We have owned our Costa Rican getaway for 6 years. We visit our house with our kids once or twice a year, and always have a great time.

Cathy Feller purchased this house in 2008

Why Cathy Feller chose Parrita

We live in western Colorado, but crave wave time (brother's a surfer) and love the abundant surf of the mighty Pacific Ocean. We couldn't resist getting this vacation home in a tropical setting. Costa Rica is a relatively safe country and the locals are very accommodating and friendly. We love the food, music and culture of Costa Rica.

What makes this house unique

If you're looking for a place in which to completely relax with a book, walk along the beach, surf or visit any number of interesting places in a tropical setting, this is it! Bejuco beach is a uncrowded gentle beach with a beach break that gets excellent tubes at times. Numerous beach, river and reef breaks are a short drive away. The house is situated between the surf town of Jaco, and the beauty of Manuel Antonio.

Very clean and safe place. On grounds staff are very helpful along with Pauline the property manager. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the sun. Even the lizards are nice. Pool area is well kept and just a short walk away to the wonderful beach. A+

Great place and location, great walks

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place in paradise. We loved the unspoiled beaches for long walks, and viewing the beautiful sunsets. Felt great peace and enjoyed the neighbors, beach combers, restaurants and wildlife. Sad to leave and return to ice and snow. Great place to share wine and fish with family and friends. A little surprised by a charge for electricity use - a first on VRBO. If you like quiet beaches, this is the place to go. Oh and the water is so warm. My lungs loved it.

Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house. It's located about 15 miles or so south of Jaco. It is located in a very secure gated community at Bejuco Beach. Not too much going on in Bejuco Beach itself, but there is a nice, very quiet beach there. One day while walking to the beach a large group of scarlet macaws flew down and landed in a tree near us. They are so cool. That was a treat! The house had everything you need for cooking, washer, dryer, and was very clean and well maintained. Each bedroom had it's own private bath. The AC worked great! We couldn't get the wifi to work. It would say it was connected, but we couldn't access the internet. Not too big a deal, my phone worked great there so we could check emails using that. The house is not too far a drive from Jaco where there are many restaurants and shops. There are also several restaurants located on the road between Bejuco Beach and Jaco that are right on the water. We visited many. It is also a close drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. I highly recommend this park. We saw many animals, and the monkeys are all over the beach. The beaches there are spectacular!
