2100 ft. Condo, 3 Bedrooms (one used as media room)), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 4)
Shown TWICE (2015 and 2018) as one of 7 condos featured on the Palm Springs Mid-Century Modernism tour of the Seven Lakes complex.
Featuring classic mid-century modern design with vintage furniture and gallery-quality art and photographs, a tremendous amount of care has been lavished on this 2100 sq. ft. unit. The unit is set behind gated walls with a 24 hour manned gatehouse, Seven Lakes Country Club offers 1960's Palm Springs at its best. The properties are nicely spread out over 120 acres and this property has particularly wonderful views of the dramatic San Jacinto Mountains.
The complex was designed in 1965 by noted Palm Springs architect Ric Harrison, who also designed the Palm Springs airport. Strict controls have insured that the entire complex retains the architectural integrity of its original design. Seven Lakes is one of Palm Springs' 'quintessential' Mid-Century-Modern condo/country club complexes.
This unit is more than 2100 square feet in size (the largest floorplan in the complex) and includes 3 bedrooms (one of which is currently used as a den/media room), and 3 full baths. It has been recently and tastefully renovated in a style that offers a true 1960's feel, with art and furniture that is high style yet comfortable. The owner also spends a considerable amount of time in Paris, and the unit incorporates some French country antiques and 50's French fashion photography. It features a gracious open floor plan with spectacular views from the living room, new terrazzo floors, high ceilings, separate private enclosed patio with both sofa seating and dining table, updated and fully-equipped kitchen, separate large dining area, card table, bookcases, and a good sound system. The bedrooms are split for privacy. The separate media room/den has a sitting area for television (a small TV is also located in the living room, and TVs are located in both bedrooms). Both the guest bedroom and den open out to the private enclosed patio, while the master bedroom looks out to the San Jacinto mountains.
Pool and spa are just a short walk away. Use of the Country Club, as well as golf, are available through a case by case arrangement, with renters paying applicable food and bar charges and greens fees. Wonderful views out to mountains from terrace (great dining for lunch or dinner.)
AVAILABLE FOR $4,500 PER MONTH NOV-APRIL; $3800 PER MONTH OCT AND MAY-JUNE; AND $3000 PER MONTH JULY-SEPT.

About John Lamb
I also spend a considerable amount of time in Paris and Santa Fe, NM,, and am very interested in architecture and Mid-Century design. Worked for a major art museum for a spell.
John Lamb purchased this Condo in 2008
Why John Lamb chose Palm Springs
The combination of beautiful sunny winters, majestic mountains and handsome Mid-Century architecture has created an energy that is unique to Palm Springs. The Seven Lakes Complex is dedicated to preserving the original (1965) character of the condo units and country club. Great restaurants, hiking, shopping and entertainment!

Lovely unit, very comfortable
We were very comfortable in this handsome condo unit. Quite spacious and well-equipped. The owner clearly took great pains to furnish it in period mid-century style and it is very tasteful.
Peaceful, Relazing, Retreat
I have now stayed at Dave's Palm Springs house twice, and I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed it! The house itself is nicely updated, yet retains so much of its retro charm. Spacious, with high ceilings, and the most comfortable bed away from home I have ever slept in! The home is literally just steps away from one of the many pools on the property, so it felt as if it was my own private pool. On my first trip, I was not on a diet so I ate at several of the nearby local hot spots, including a wonderful steak house. On my second trip, I was watching my weight so I chose to buy food at the local "Whole Foods" type grocery store. I was pleasantly surprised at how fully-equipped Dave's kitchen is - including razor sharp cutlery. Another big bonus for me was the ease in navigating the city. There is even a Walgreens just down the street for sundries and such. Dave also has a state-of-the-art sound system, and a superb collection of cds from which to choose. I had a fantastic time, and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to have a fun and relaxing place to stay while away from home.
Typical activities for Palm Springs visitors are architectural and celebrity house tours, shopping, dining, and the Art Museum in downtown Palm Springs (4 miles from Seven Lakes). The Seven Lakes complex offers golf, if that interests you, and there are numerous other golf opportunities. Grocery shopping and informal dining is within 2/10 of a mile from Seven Lakes. Note that Palm Springs is VERY auto oriented, however, and you will need a car to get around, unless you choose to stay in a complex close to the downtown area (most of these are hotels).
