Great location!!

  • 4 of 5

This condo had everything we needed except good maintenance/on site management. The location was wonderful, the Creekside Gondola was a 3- 5 min. walk across the street to the right. Granted you had to change to a chairlift half way up but that gives one a chance to ski the lower mountain in colder weather. Plus there is a nice mountain cafe with views and a bathroom if you want a break. We had fun with the children hand feeding the Whiskey Jack birds at the outside cafe. There is a grocery store and liquor store across the street to the left out the front door. Also a ski shop . You can take a BC bus to other areas and lifts from almost outside the front door but it costs $2.50 per person each way. Plus you will have to pay for parking once you get to the parking for Whistler/Blackcomb lifts. The beds were comfortable, the heating system comfortable but air dry, the condo was basically clean. Our issues were with the upkeep of the condo. First thing we noticed was how many lights did not work including all the lights for both decks, the upstairs double wall fixture at the top of the stairs (safety), the hall light outside the downstairs bathroom, a couple of bedroom lights to name a few . Turned out a light in a bedroom was broken and a lighting unit on the wall of the living room was broken and had been for at least a year. A window in the living room was broken, one of the eight chairs at the table was broken. We asked for it to be removed but it wasn't. There was only one set of keys for the condo but the manager gave us his set since we had 2 families there. The only clock in the place other than the oven was not working. It only needed a battery. There is an ice-maker in the freezer but it didn't work. There were only 2 steak knives. Be aware there are no alarm clocks in the condo. The second floor bedroom is poorly lit with only 2 small lamps and a small skylight with broken shutter. Unable to read and no TV in that room. The children could not use it as a place to escape to except to sleep. If you have read this far you will want to know that housekeeping does not clean the washing machine! The gasket to seal the door was loaded with mold/mildew making the machine smell and the clothes smelled after being washed. We cleaned it as best we could. Most of the inconveniences should have been picked up by the maintenance or housekeeping people between guests. Why the repairs are not done is on the owner. All in all, we would return.

Great comfortable condo and very close to amenities!

  • 5 of 5

Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay here! The condo is setup nicely, with a ski locker to store your gear when entering the building. The interior of the condo was great. It is extremely comfortable, the kitchen is setup well with all the necessary utensils and cooking supplies. The washer/dryer in the master bath was an extra bonus. I expected the upstairs bedroom to be a loft, but it was actually a very nice enclosed room. One note, the bed upstairs was setup as a king, but it was clearly two twins pushed together. A layer of memory foam over the top would have been a nice addition. There was a few small upkeep issues we noticed, such as a lot of light bulbs were burnt out and a couple of wall pictures were laying on the floor. But it did not detract from our happiness with this unit. We would definitely stay here again.

The location, while not being in Whistler Village is still extremely convenient. There is a local store, liquor store, several restaurants, a ski rental/retail shop and of course the Creekside Gondola all just across the street. The village is a quick bus ride away and the buses stop out front of the building all the time. Overall, I was very happy with our choice and the value cannot be beat.

Great place for small group

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here as a group of 3 couples and two small children and found the condo to be a very comfortable design and accommodation. In Whistler it is hard to find a 3 bedroom unit with 2 king beds and 1 queen. The beds and the linens were great and made for good night sleeps, the seating area in the living room had that extra sofa space that made us feel like we were not just on a postage stamp, there was plenty of room to lounge and play. The window seats in the living room and Queen size bedroom were nice extra touches. The dining area is a bit tight, but it does provide seating for 8 which is awesome. The kitchen is well equipped, even a Nespresso coffee maker was tucked in the cupboard. If we would have known then I would have brought up pods, because I'm not sure they Nespresso pods are available for sale in Whistler. We never accessed the Whistler / Blackcomb skiing from Creekside, but it is no issue at all as long as you don't mind the old little gondola going to mid station. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future ski trips with other couples.

Great location but more rundown than the photos

  • 2 of 5

compared to photos

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Let's just say, we didn't get off to a great start, when we arrived the condo was a mess, beds unmade..dirty dishes etc. We tried the contact numbers and email, with no response. With much searching we found a number for their cleaning service, to discover it would be another hour before they could was Christmas week, so we were renting at almost 3X the regular price, but the owners were out the country and only got in contact via email 30 hours later. It didn't seem worth mentioning, the dirty dishes put away in the cupboards, nor the numerous burned out bulbs.. The photo's paint a much more flattering picture, the kitchen is excellent, but everything else is a bit tatty. The stairs have broken railings, the dresser in the master has its back section broken, the washing machine in the master bath, is a definate fire and building code violation, with extension cord coming out through the drywall wall and into the plugs.. We refrained from using the washer and dryer as we feared sparking a fire.. Overall, if you are paying regular rate, it's shabby but conveniently located (just have the fire dept on standby if you need to do laundry) At peak week prices, I was super disappointed that the owners just left with no designated back up to help or troubleshoot. I wish I could attach more pictures but I'll stick with the one of the electrical cord/drywall mess in the bathroom and the broken railing on the stair, or the dirty dishes etc.. But trust me in on this, the washer dryer electrical and venting is not up to code nor safe.

Owner's Response: To walk into an unclean unit is unacceptable. It is the last thing we want for anyone. However, in this situation it was unavoidable, given that you arrived early and our cleaners were delayed by the unusual traffic congestion of the busiest day in our all time history in Whistler. The best response was to provide you with an alternative solution while the unit was cleaned as quickly and thoroughly as possible. There was multiple communications with our cleaning company before the actual check-in time and our people presented multiple solutions to help with the situation. Your frustration in attempting to contact us for a solution is unfortunate. If a guest has a problem with our unit, the ability to contact us to fix the problem is of the utmost priority. For that reason, we have the emergency contact in 2 places on our site which we thought was in an easy to locate spot. We understand that you had trouble finding our emergency contact information, which is valuable feedback that we ourselves can use to improve our guest experience. Our emergency contact was available and did attend to the emergency as they were on their way to the unit. Your feedback about the condition of our unit is appreciated. Unfortunately, the damage by previous guests was not reported. In that case, being alerted to these problems by subsequent guests is important, so we can repair the damage as quickly as possible. We are surprised by your concern about the washing machine, as our unit has passed all fire and building code inspections. Having said that, we have repaired the issues that you pointed out. Again, thanks for pointing that out. We value our guests and their feedback, thank you for your input.

Fantastic location, home away from home, great owner!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed at this fabulous unit for a week early December. We have enjoyed the spacious living/dining area and well equipped kitchen. Netflix was a huge bonus after a day of skiing. We all had good sleeps on the comfy beds in the well appointed bedrooms. This unit is located at the end of the hallway which is quieter. Location is gold as we were 3 minutes walk to the Creek Side Gondola and cafes. We were blessed with great snow and had s wonderful beginning of the season.

We have s large SUV that wouldn't fit in the underground parking thus we parked at the visitor carpatk at the back on the condo. We mistakenly parked at one of the slots(which we later learnt belonged to the other complex sharing the carpark) the car was towed away in less an hour. We got the car back from the impound after 3 hours. We had informed the owner about the incident and we were very touched that Schalene very kindly reimbursed the towing charges. Thank you Schalene, you definitely have made my husband happier after he retrieved our car from the impound(which he had claimed to be like the scene out of Fargo)

Highly recommended to any traveling party!!! We will return!

Creekside offers family restaurants, pubs, take-out restaurants, a grocery store, Starbucks, Can-Ski ski store (retail and rental), a liquor store, video rentals and more. If a night out on the town is what you're after, there is a bus stop and taxi stand right outside the building. We support you having a great time in Whistler!

Other Activities: All of Whistler's multitude of attractions can be accessed easily from the Lake Placid Lodge. Golf, skiing, tennis, mountain biking, sight seeing and more are right outside the door.

Golf: Whistler Golf Club is the closest course, located right in the heart of the village, the local choice for golf with a fair but challenging layout in a more traditional Arnold Palmer design. This course will test you from tee to green, but is still forgiving enough to be enjoyed by a wide range of golfers.

Fairmont Chateau Golf Course is a wonderful and challenging mountain layout with beautiful views, idyllic settings and fast, undulating greens. This is a full facility with driving range and practice greens, clubhouse, and professional instruction at the David Leadbetter Academy.

Niklaus North Golf Course, also in Whistler Village, was designed by Jack Niklaus and has hosted such prestigious events as the Telus Skins Game.

Big Sky Golf Club in Pemberton is a favourite with most local golfers, and well worth the 30 minute drive to Pemberton. This is a full length modern golf course playing 7001 yards from the championship tees. The season is much longer in Pemberton, and the greens are always true.

Ski: Creekside on Whistler Mountain is the original base area for Whistler. Full skier services are available including tickets and passes, snow school, lift access, ski/snowboard rental, tuning, childrens snow school, bars and restaurants. Access to the mountain is via Creekside Gondola
