Our secluded mountain log home is a throw back to the real Colorado before strip malls, traffic jams, and light pollution. Here your vacation starts with a dead-on unobstructed view of majestic 12,900 ft Mt Sopris as it towers 6,800 ft (Americas greatest vertical) above the top-ranked adventure town of Carbondale.
The secluded 5 acre mountainside property delivers solitude, relaxation, and the convenience of a short 5 minute drive to town. From the wrap-around deck, you will feel enveloped and embraced by a thick green pine forest without a neighbor in sight. At night, enjoy the full splendor of the Milky Way or a moonlit Mt. Sopris from our private hot tub retreat tucked away in the forest.
Just like the first settlers of the Roaring Fork Valley, you will be bedding down in a rustic log home. But unlike those hearty soles, you will have all the modern conveniences like high speed internet, hi-def TVs, and modern Viking equipped kitchen. The 2000 sq ft home feels spacious with upstairs and downstairs living rooms and an elegantly appointed rustic modern interior. Enjoy family time on our cozy leather couches, retreat to the office for a read, watch the kids play ping pong in the garage, or retire to our western log beds with new linens.
Sure…you could spend a fortune to stay ski in ski out in Aspen but why…the real charm of Colorado is a short drive down valley and the views better. We hope to have you as our guests.

Work in high tech remotely for a large company and love the fact I can live in this great valley. Wife, and I and dog love the area. We think you will too.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
After searching Missouri Heights for a year we came across this perfect property that offerred outstanding views, privacy, and didnt take us forever to get to town or go to Aspen.
Its forested hillside location really makes you feel like your in a tree fort. View is inspiring and the hot tub make this the perfect get away from city life.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at his wonderful house. There were eleven of us and had plenty of room. The view was fantastic; there were deer in the yard; the kids loved the hot tub. Its location away from the city was terrific - not too far to run into Carbondale or Glenwood Springs, but still secluded & private. The owner was available if we needed him, but we didn't because everything worked fine & there were no problems. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family & would love to return again.
This home is wonderful. There were 5 of us and the setup was perfect. The house was beautiful and the kitchen had everything anyone could ever need. The views from the decks were awesome. The home is back in the trees, making you feel like you are in your own world, yet very handy to Carbondale if you need groceries. The pictures on VRBO cannot begin to show the true beauty of this home and its surroundings. The owner responded immediately to any questions that we had. Everything in the home worked perfectly. Thanks, Todd, for sharing your home with us. We had a FANTASTIC time!!!!!
This place is fantastic! The house is cozy and comfortable for 8 of us. The kitcken is well equiped. The view outside the cabin is spectacular. Also, the location is near Carbondale where we bought our grocerries in Wholefoods. The driving from the cabin to Aspen Highlands or Snowmass was approx 45 min in winter condition, which worked for us well. Another plus is that the house has keyless entry, so check-in is very convenient. Highly recommended.
This place is great! It was large enough for 10 adults to never be in each other's way; although the atmosphere encourages together time--especially out on the deck with the awesome view! It's clean, nicely furnished and everything from the TV to the hot tub work perfectly which shows the owner does a nice job keeping it up. The location is great no matter what type of activity you choose to be involved in around the area or what time of year you choose to stay. The price was very reasonable for all you get and the owner is super easy to work with. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
Our family stayed at this home a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it! The house was cozy, clean, comfortable for 10 of us (all adults), and well equipped. Plenty of space for everyone. And the views...oh my gosh, the pictures don't begin to show how spectacular they are. The owner was great to work with, was very helpful and quick to respond to my phone calls. Everything about this home was perfect. We will definitely stay here again if the need arises. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a VRBO in the Glenwood/Carbondale area!
Great log home, with beautiful views, We Loved the ping-pong table in the garage!, the hot tub under the stars, the well equipped kitchen, and the warm comfortable setting. Very accommadating for our growing family.
Thanks so much for a great experience. We Would love to come back!
