Our 5th Fl. residence, a 2 bedroom w/1 full bathroom apartment in SOHO,
is in a VERY quiet elevator-building.
With a Queen bed (Mstr Bdrm) and a (2 single) stacked bunk beds (Bdrm #2) and,
a double bed/sofa in the Lvgrm.
It is most definitely ideal for a couple, with/and two (2) children.
-It- will sleep 6, but again just one bath!
Ideally comfortable beds, fully customized kitchen with GE appliances.
Bathroom is more than comfortable with his bathtub/shower, custom designed in green slate stones from upstate New York.
Sorry no photos of the full bathroom but guaranteeing/offering all amenities' comfort.
Most excellent downtown location near Washington Square Park, The Village, Union Square etc...
Well ventilated with 6 windows facing South & West, ceiling fan and small fans.
Two A/Cs (set at 72 w/ceiling fan ON keep the entire apartment cool in summertime.

Thompson Street between Houston and Prince is located near all subway's trains:
A, C, E, B, D, F, 1, 2, 3, R, N, Q, 4, 5, 6 and the recently inaugurated 7 line on the West Side.
Nearby West Village, and its quintessential SOHO streets near several playground, Vesuvio Park (1/2 block South) and Washington Sq. Park (4 blocs North,) N.Y.U's Campus, shopping, sport bars, restaurants around our neighborhood
But none -on our- street, between Houston and Prince, therefore it is quiet.

We are a couple with two children ages 12 and 5.
We are non-smokers, lead a quiet life. We live, work and play in the Soho/Greenwich Village area. We are native New Yorker. We run a family business in the East Village. Our children go to neighborhood schools and play in the nearby playgrounds.

As native New Yorkers, we always lived downtown. It is a community here, where you know the butcher, cheese store owner, and local fish monger. It is small town living in one of the largest, greatest cities in the world. It is extremely well located, within 2-4 blocks of ALL major subways, Washington Square Park, fabulous restaurants, shopping, and all conveniences such as laundry, dry cleaner, pharmacist steps away from our door. The apartment is located in the back of the building, so it is very quiet. Church bells from the church on the corner ring out daily. We have an elevator, so exercises
Restaurants, shopping, strolling through Greenwich Village, Soho, the East Village, Chinatown and Little Italy. All these neighborhoods are within a 10 minute walk at most. All major subways (A, C, E, B, D, F & V, 1, 2, and 3, N, R, 4, 5, 6) are within a five minute walk so you can get uptown or farther downtown, east side or west side within 20-30 minutes.
We recently returned to NYC with our three young children to visit family and friends after moving away some years ago. So we are not tourists and we know a good NYC apartment when we see one -- this is definitely a great apartment. The location is very convenient to multiple subway and bus stops; the street is very quiet being that there is a church on the corner. The apartment building itself is clean, quiet and well kept and the elevator is very nice and fast. The inside of the apartment is exactly as pictured -- clean, roomy and full of all the basics you would need for a good stay: pots/pans & utensils; microwave; linens & towels; paper products and television. Great WiFi connection too.
We had plenty of room for two adults and three children (our two young ones slept in the bunk beds in a nice dark room that allowed them to sleep well and our oldest slept on a pull-out sofa). I loved that the rooms were dark and cool, allowing for rest and recovery after a day in the busy city.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to others. The owner was pleasant and easy to deal with and his assistant who met us to give the keys was also very nice and helpful. Quick response times.
I stayed with my family in this apartment to celebrate my daughter's graduation from high school. It was conveniently located to great shopping, restaurants and subways! The apartment is very quite and comfortable. The owner was a pleasure to communicate with and was very helpful with any questions I had. I would definitely recommend this rental.
The owner is extremely professional and helpful. The apartment is a true two bedroom with spacious kitchen/living area. There is soap, shampoo and toilet paper in abundance. An amazing "back saving" chair is at the computer desk. Excellent WIFI as well. The apartment was well heated, a bonus for our late April stay. But the real plus is location, location, location, in the heart of Soho's best restaurants and shopping, while it is perfectly quiet in the home.
On the downside, the interior fittings and decoration have a pre-war look and the apartment is stuffed with a lot of things that are not always tasteful nor useful. Such an apartment is not easy to maintain at top level of cleanliness. It is difficult to open and close the aging windows. There are only 2 chairs around the dining-room table. The bathroom is cramped, but the shower is perfect.
My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids the age of 12 and 15) spent a week in the Soho appartment mid october. It was a perfect base for visiting the different parts of Manhatten. We like to walk around (10 miles a day), cause it gives the best impression of the different parts of the city, and Soho was a great starting point in the middle of everything. We walked to Central Park (North), The High Line (West), 9/11 Memorial (South), Brooklyn Bridge (Southwest) and most of Broadway. Little Italy/Chinatown is within 10-15 minutes walking distance.
Thompson St. itself is really quiet, and the surrounding streets has lots of dining places and shops to visit, so you don't have to carry shopping bags for miles - most is available in the neighbourhood.
The owner was easy to contact and very responsive, the keys were handed over in person when we got to Manhatten late in the afternoon, and we had a great week in Soho. Lots of tourists live in the area around Madison Square Garden and towards Times Square - and those are nightmare locations compared to Soho. Don't hesitate - it will be a completely different experience to have a quiet base to go back to. Thompson St. is perfect for that.
Easy to work with owner. Warm welcome to amazing apartment. Clean & roomy (yes, roomy). Well furnished. We were a family of three but there is room for 4-5. We've rented other vacation places in NYC before but this has been the best experience to date. The apartment is close to the metro, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. Safe and quiet neighborhood.
Our family of four stayed here for a week in August. Everything was great! Perfect location in Soho - comfortable 2 bedroom apartment on quiet street, near subway, many shops, restaurants, bakeries, markets, including Whole Foods in walking distance and much more. Air conditioning (2 window units) worked fine. Very nice kitchen appliances; however, did not cook - instead had many great meals out including some in the neighborhood. Owner was very helpful, left detailed instructions. Look forward to returning!
In summer time, there is an outdoor clean, public pool one block away in the playground. It's perfect for children. No membership no fees associated with this pool. Only three feet deep throughout BUT
only with parental supervisions whilst Lifeguards are on duty....Opened daily from 06/20 thru Labor Day week-end (11:00 to 4:00 and again from 5:00 to 7:00.)
