About the property

4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10, Great Backyard with View of Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe View! Location... Location... Location!

This beautiful home is in a quiet neighborhood (Highland Woods) and has spectacular lake and meadow views. Once you step foot through the door, the first thing you'll notice is how relaxing & serene the cabin is. Backing up to the Upper Truckee Marsh meadow, it is ideal for people looking for an authentic, tranquil Tahoe experience. But keep in mind that it is just minutes from downtown South Lake Tahoe. There you'll find everything you want from an activity standpoint: beaches, state-line casinos, ski resorts (Heavenly), great restaurants, fun shopping, live music and much more.

The cabin is very peaceful with hiking just over the back fence, or only minutes to more hiking trails, skiing, shopping, gambling, and limitless outdoor recreation. Imagine relaxing on the large deck viewing the lake or getting cozy beside the river-rock fireplace. There just isn't a better location in South Shore!

Equipped with WiFi and HD television, the cabin has everything you'll need. The great room is perfect for family gatherings. There is a Weber Grill in the backyard for barbecuing. The garage has a ping-pong table and bikes.

It is ideal year-round. We can't decide which season is best.

This cabin has been used for almost 50 years by family & friends. It has been the host of countless family reunions and even wedding ceremonies/receptions. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. It's simply the best.

About Tim Jordan

This amazing property was purchased over 40 years ago by a family that truly believes in the true Tahoe spirit and experience. This is not your typical Tahoe rental. It has a lot of character from all the TLC that has been put into it over the years.

Tim Jordan purchased this cabin in 1976

Why Tim Jordan chose South Lake Tahoe

This property has felt decades of "one family love." It's an iconic beauty that never gets old. Friends & family rave about how comfortable, soothing and warm it is compared to other places they've stayed in Tahoe.

What makes this cabin unique

Great bike paths and hiking through the meadow! State-Line casinos nearby as are ski resorts (Heavenly, Sierra-At-Tahoe, etc.). Great restaurants are less than a mile away.

Simply the perfect place to unwind, decompress and leave the complicated urban hustle. You won't find a more soothing place to spend your time in Tahoe.

We enjoyed the stay, the warm fireplace and the cabin was large and so we had plenty of room. Great view of the lake and mountains.

South Lake Tahoe Home #256882:

  • 5 of 5

Our family consisting of 9 with the youngest being our 11 month old grandkid spent a lovely weekend at this cabin. It is very cozy, has great views and is easily accessible to the casinos, Emerald Bay and many other attractions in South Lake Tahoe. There are numerous restaurants both along the strip and off Emerald Bay Drive which is about a 5-minute drive from the cabin. The kitchen is very well stocked, but we chose to eat out as we were only there for two nights. We did enjoy our morning coffee and breakfast there though!

We came in 3 groups and arrived at different times. Upon walking into the cabin, everyone's first remark was what a lovely place it was and immediately started commenting on what a great getaway this place would be for a winter break.

After a beautiful day at Emerald Bay, our sons had a blast riding the bikes while our daughter-in-law and us stayed home and had wine on the patio, not a bad alternative! Our 2 grand-kids had tons of fun playing around in the backyard.

The king and queen beds in the upstairs bedrooms were comfortable but 3 of the guys were not so comfortable on the twin beds as there wasn't much support on a few of them and also because these guys are 6'2" tall. However, the sofa in the living room is so very comfy! Now everyone is saying "let's get one for home"! On the second night there, one of our sons actually slept there and had a great night's sleep.

This cabin feels like your own home with more than enough beddings, blankets, towels, kitchen supplies etc. We picked up quite a few kitchen and bathroom supplies and toiletries before coming, but we did not have to use it as the supply provided was more than enough for our 2-nights stay.

Working with Tim, the owner, was a pleasure as well. He was warm, helpful, easy to reach and responsive at all times. Thanks Tim!

As a family, we highly recommend this place and we can't wait to return and spend some cozy winter nights there.

Great family home, good value, was everything we hoped for!

We visited for 5 days at the end of September 2016 and had a wonderful time. The home was clean, well equipped, and the owner was reasonable and responsive whenever we called. Great view of a wooded meadow with the lake in the background. This home is highly recommended. We were a group of 6 but had friends who were staying nearby visit for a lovely bar-be-que on the great deck. Dinner seating at the table was limited to 6 (8 if you snuggle) but no one minded in the least. Neighborhood was very nice, the home is several blocks off the busy street so no road noise. Very close to stores and casinos. Will repeat the next time we're in South Lake Tahoe!

Great place for a family vacation! Awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a family retreat this past weekend and this place was great! Tim reached out before we got there to make sure we knew how to access, even though we already knew from the app, that was much appreciated. The kitchen is stocked with everything necessary and the house accommodated 8 adults and 3 little ones. The backyard is really nice, charcoal bbq Weber ready, lots of space for kids to run and right on a hiking trail. You can see the lake in the distance and the sunset too. The house is close to the main beach, El Dorado, or Pope/Baldwin beaches if you're going in the summer. Great value for us, we'll definitely be back!

Great times!

Mr. Tim,

thanks for letting us stay at your cozy cabin, and thanks again for being veteran friendly. We had an excellent time, our kids were crying when we left. Your backyard was spectacular, even had a visit from a bear seen walking along the edge of the forest. The house had everything we needed and more, plenty of beds, clean towels, amenities, etc. Central to south lake tahoe, near everything but away from the hustle of main street enough to feel like you are alone out there. Thanks again!
