Why Mike Pierce chose Arch Cape
We first arrived in Arch Cape for a family reunion. We totally fell in love with the beauty of the beach, the salty fresh smell of the ocean, exciting rock formations, tide pools teaming with sea-life at low tide, fresh seafood, and the many wonderful things to do in the area. We searched to find just the right house for us for the next year and found our dream home 'Seagull Landing'. We have had so many adventures like clamming for razor clams at 4:30 am low-tide, fishing for salmon and rock fish, hiking at Oswald State park, exploring tide-pools, finding treasures on the beach, fires on the beach with a glass of good Oregon wine and just relaxing on our deck to watch the sunset. We never feel more alive and contented then when we are staying at our special beach house. We have furnished our beautiful home with love and pride and all the comforts. Many friends have gifted us with special art work and 'nick-nacks' that add to the fun and whimsy of our ocean house. We want all of you to feel as much at home at Seagull Landing as we do. This is truly a house for sharing and family.

The Seagull Really Landed on the Deck
We enjoyed our time at Seagull Landing. This was our annual "Girls Week" trip of three sisters and our Mom. We were visited by a seagull on the deck several mornings. We also enjoyed watching the birds next door that came to the neighbor's feeders. Everything was clean and neat. Bedrooms, one bath and laundry downstairs. Living area, kitchen and one bath upstairs. The beach was broad and the access to it easy to find.
We enjoyed walking on the long beach but found that tidepools were quite a walk away. I thought they would be right near the stairs down to the beach but they are 15 min walk or so down the beach. I rented this location because I thought I'd run down the stairs at low tide and explore...so that was a bit of a disappointment.
Easy drive to Cannon Beach and up and down the coast.
There is road noise, especially when trucks go by - surprising the first time - but it didn't bother us after the first experience.
I found the Queen bed in the poppy room sagged where folks must sit to put on their shoes and get in and out of bed. The instructions for the phone (no cell phone reception) were inconsistent - can't make long distance phone calls per one document, can make long distance phone calls per another document. Also the wifi connect information was written in all caps. Took a while to figure out it was meant to be lower case. Also had difficulties following the instructions re. bungee cording the trash can lid so critters could not access. Fortunately we didn't have rummaging critters while we were there. Maybe a diagram would help.
All in all a nice place. Other than the few minor things mentioned above, we enjoyed our stay.
Hi Judith, Thank you for taking time for a review. The seagull that visited you on the deck is Jonathan. He is our official greeter and breakfast food begger!
Yes, you can make long distant calls within the US mainland on our house phone. Also our wifi is excellent with 5G service.
There is wireless service for your phone but it can be sketchy on the coast. The best reception at our beach house is on the deck.
The queen bed is a nice firm mattress with a memory foam top pad for extra comfort. It is not sagging, the memory form is just conforming to your body. Come back, we love girls getaway weekends. It is those fun times that make life special! Deb and Mike
A home away from home!
We spent a wonderful 3 nights at this cozy house. It was like walking from our home into another home away from home so close the the beach and ocean. We were so happy to find this affordable place for our family of 5. The Oregon coast has a special place in our heart and this home did not disappoint us rain or shine. Our first day was beautiful and sunny with the sun streaming into the east facing windows in the morning and the beautiful sunset from the deck in the evening. We could have a BBQ and view the stars after a day hiking at Oswald West State Park and a walk at Indian Beach at low tide. The next day was rain and we enjoyed being indoors for part of it, making a lovely fire after wading the the little stream coming down from the mountain at Arch Cape Beach and getting soaked but very happy!! The home has everything you need. It is spacious, comfortable, very clean and we appreciated how approachable the owners were. We also loved the daily visit from the seagull Jonathan! We hope to be able to visit again, we love this place!
Roland and Emma, So glad that you enjoyed the charms of Arch Cape and our cozy beach house, Seagull Landing! Come back! Deb and Mike
We had a lovely time at Arch Cape. The house was incredibly well equipped, comfortable, impeccably clean and homely. The walk to the beach was a short 2 min walk and our children loved running along the beach and collecting sand dollars. The owners have a beautiful house and we would not hesitate to book this house when we visit Oregon again. Thank you so much!
Thanks Janice, We are so glad that you had a great stay in our little slice of heaven by the sea! Come back, Deb and Mike.
What a weekend!
Thank you for allowing us into your home, it is totally amazing! We have a very difficult time in the month of February every year. You see, we lost our beautiful son when he was 18 years old on February 6th, 2002. We lost him 2 days after my daughters birthday and 6 days before mine. It is still totally devastating for all of us. We needed to escape, just get away from it all. The beach was the perfect place, and it worked out that my daughter and her family were available for the escape too. It was so wonderful that we could all fit in the same home and enjoy each others company. The grand kids are so much fun, they take our mind off of some of the sad things in life that we face every day. Our son-in-law loves to cook and so we just let him wait on us all weekend, of course we helped with the clean up!
The kids stayed downstairs, which worked out perfectly for all of us.
The weather was beautiful, and the beach awesome. I searched for agates and jasper in the rocky part of the beach and found a few. I am a member of a gem & mineral club nearby, so where ever I go I'm searching for the perfect stone!
We were very fortunate that your home was available for our escape. We absolutely loved our stay and are planning to return soon. Thank you so much!
Cliff and family, It is stories like your that make us so glad that we rent out our beach house when we are not there. There is something about walking on the quiet and beautiful beach of Arch Cape that renews the spirit. So glad that it spoke to you in your time of grief and family togetherness. Deb and Mike
NIcely designed and decorated. Very well supplied.
The property is great but the weather was lousy. Due to this, the power was out for quite a while which is a difficulty in an all electric house. We were very thankful for the fireplace where we could toast bread with cheese for dinner.
Bob. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the beach house. So sorry that it was stormy. We would love to have you come back when the weather is nice and you can walk the beautiful beach. Deb and Mike
Nice View - Good Neighbors - Clean
Thoroughly enjoyed our quiet getaway in this spotless clean home. Very nice quiet neighborhood on a private street. Easy walk down to the beach. Well stocked with everything needed for our stay. Owner went out of her way to make sure we were happy with both the house and the experience. If we decide to visit the area again we will definitely stay here.
David, Thank you for taking time to give us a review. Glad that you enjoyed your stay! Deb and Mike.
Seagull Landing is across a quiet residential street from Arch Cape Beach, a very quite and unpopulated stretch of beach that connects to Hug Point State Park. (Where there are some caves and waterfalls) At very low tide you can walk all the way to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Arch Cape Beach has tide pools and starfish covered rocks at low tide. Private bonfires are allowed. Use proper fire safety. Activities: clamming crabbing, salmon fishing, Kyacking, searching tide pools, sailing, boating, surfing, hiking, exploring
