View of a lifetime

  • 5 of 5

The view was beyond belief. And being we went in late October, the fall colors were outstanding.

Amazing views!

  • 4 of 5

Gorgeous setting! This house was very comfortable - there were only 6 of us but you could easily fit more without feeling crowded. Lots of parking, nicely appointed (clean) kitchen, 3 of the bedrooms have balcony access & views, all bedrooms have attached bathrooms. (We wished it was colder so we could use the fireplace.) It was VERY easy for my inlaws to get around - no steep driveways, 2 bedrooms on the main floor. The house was stocked with plenty of entertainment - board games, pool table, hot tub, TVs in every room. You can tell that the owner has put a lot of thought into making this home as comfortable and convenient as possible.

The house is well located - short (somewhat winding) drive to Gatlinburg attractions and restaurants but away from the noise and crowds. Minutes away from the Ober tram where there's shopping, dining and rides. In Gatlinburg, we ate at The Peddler which was great! Use their call-ahead seating service or you could easily wait 2 hours for a table. The tables by the river have the best view.

I didn't give the house five stars because there were few grassy places to walk the dog, and it would have been nice to have the option to pull some blackout curtains across the big windows as the morning sun is bright! Also, some of the quilts and upholstery are showing some wear and could use updating. BUT these tiny issues pale in comparison to the other amenities of the house and the spectacular view. We'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience.

Wonderful Place to Relax

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful and well laid out. We enjoyed the comfort of the living space as we sat around and had long talks in the evenings. The view from the house is truly spectacular. We loved sitting out on the deck in the early morning and seeing clouds roll in and out of Gatlinburg. We even saw bears going into the underbrush on the hill below the house. We were close enough to Gatlinburg that we were able to get into town in just a few minutes. But the house sits high up on the mountain overlooking Gatlinburg and it was very nice to return to such a quiet, peaceful setting. We initially had a problem with the Wi-Fi, but the owner picked up when we called and talked us through it in no time. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who loves a vacation in the mountains.

This place is awesome!

This place is absolutely breath taking.

Very clean, very spacious and the view is to die for. Well worth the drive up the mountain which is an adventure all in itself.

A little context for the review below

  • 5 of 5

As one of the guests who stayed in the cabin referenced by the bad review below ... I wanted to provide a little context. It was a great stay. The problem was ours. We were the couple who booked the stay for all of us. We originally booked it to begin on 3/21 and later decided to re-book for 3/20. The owner simply forgot to inform the housekeeper of the changed date ... an honest mistake.

When we showed up and called the owner, he immediately got in contact with the housekeeper and she was there in about an hour. The manufactured outrage in the post below failed to tell you that we were going to dinner anyway when the housekeeper asked us to leave so that she could clean our cabin. We were not inconvenienced at all as she finished before we completed our meal.

The owner communicated with us very well and has apologized on several occasions. He even offered to refund one night's stay ... which we refused since this was not a big deal at all.

The cabin is beautiful. The views are great. It is very convenient to Gatlinburg. And I sincerely believe you will find the owner to be someone who truly cares about his guests' experiences. We loved it. And I'll bet you'll love it too.

We had 12 people in our party ... 8 adults and 4 kids. All of the kids loved it. My wife and I loved it. My in-laws loved it. STAY HERE ... you will not regret it.

There is an endless supply of fun in the surrounding area. Start with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where there are trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. There are waterfalls, beautiful scenery and wildlife to enjoy. There are an abundance of streams & rivers for trout fishing, tubing, kayaking and canoeing. There are numerous golf clubs. We have access to 3 club houses, all have outdoor pools, 2 offer tennis courts, playground equipment and weight room (we do charge a $10 pass deposit that will be refunded upon return of pass, club pass. We are near Pigeon Forge (great shopping outlets) & Sevierville. We have dinner theaters, amusement parks, water slide parks etc.

There are bears in the neighborhood....please don't feed the bears!
