A well-appointed studio apt on the 3rd floor of a historic brownstone built in 1899, this lovely, private space is filled with sunlight and offers stylish comfort at an affordable rate, a stone's throw from Manhattan. Fully equipped with linens, dishes, and comfortable furnishings, and brimming with historic charm, it boasts three large windows, an original decorative fireplace, brand new appliances, and claw-food bathtub with shower. Though cozy, it is well designed and can sleep 3 by virtue of a comfortable queen sized bed as well as a couch that pulls-out to be a double-bed. Perfect for a couple, small family or close friends. This Brooklyn neighborhood is charming and tree-lined, and the popular neighborhood cafe is a half-block away. On rare occasions, guests may see us in the hallway (two parents, a 9-year-old, and a very friendly dog named Lucy), coming in or out of the building. Guests can feel free to ask questions about NYC or the neighborhood at any time, but are also assured of privacy.
Payment: 1/2 Payment will be expected prior to the start of the vacation and the remainder of the payment upon arrival. Payment may be made online, through PayPal, or (if time allows) by check via postal mail.

Leecia grew up in Texas and Mike grew up in New Jersey, but they've lived in New York City now for over 15 years. They run a mid-century modern furniture & accessories business on the ground floor of their home.
Leecia & Mike purchased this apartment in 2005
The great location and original historic details of this house were what sold it.
It's a wonderful thing to be so close to Manhattan, and yet able to come home to what feels like a little village in leafy Brooklyn.
Leecia and Mike, thank you so much for the wonderful vacation rental--great accomodations, great neighborhood, convenient subway stops into Manhattan. We really appreciate all the advice you gave us, and we will definitely recommend this great studio to friends travelling to/visiting the NYC area. We hope to be back soon! Thanks!
I just came from a week spent at this wonderful little apartment, and I can't say enough good things about it. I was working in Manhattan - starting very early each morning, and working long, exhausting days - and having this charming place to come home to every night was invaluable. It is bright, clean, spacious, cozy, and so well-appointed - everything I could have needed was there for me. The subway station is a few short blocks away, and trains to Manhattan run frequently and quickly - I was in Chelsea within 25 minutes of walking out the front door. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet, with trees everywhere and shops just around the corner, and my hosts were friendly and welcoming while still allowing me my space. Absolutely perfect. There is nothing quite like spending a day soaking in all the excitement and energy of Manhattan, and then curling up with a cup of tea and a good book on a comfy sofa in a beautiful space to bring the day to a close. I hope to be back soon.
Very nice and handy location to jump onto the metro or catch a bus.
Owners are lovely and easy to deal with. Everything you need for a holiday
Owners easy to contact before arrival via email. Clear instructions of options to reach location. Studio has lots of character and fully equipped. Great decorations. Place is a little out of the way and street noise sometimes annoying at night, but interesting neighborhood. I would stay there again.
We highly recommend this very quiet apartment in Brooklyn
We spent 5 great days.
Leecia and her family are really nice.
Very clean and well-maintained.
2 close subways stations.
Restaurants and nearby stores.
We loved walking along Brooklyn streets
Leecia is a warm and welcoming hostess and makes it very easy to enjoy your time spent in this apartment. The location is near two subway stops on the A line so it is possible to get almost anywhere in New York City with little or no hassle. The neighborhood is very supportive with lots of restaurants and stores. It is a diverse neighborhood with a lot of friendly, helpful people.
The apartment is quite comfortable. It is fully furnished and includes Wi-fi. It was clean and we had no maintenance issues. While we were there New York City had some record cold temperatures. We were always comfortably warm in the apartment and since it is only a few minutes walk from either Subway station we really had no issues with the extreme cold.
There is a TKTS booth in Brooklyn which is at the top of the stairs from the Jay Station so it was easy to get less expensive tickets for a great many of the shows. (The transit museum is also near that stop and presents a fascinating history of the subway, bus and rail transportation in the City.)
I would recommend Leecia and Mike's apartment to my friends and would stay there again should the opportunity arise.
Our stay in Brooklyn at Leecia and Mike's place couldn't have been better. Lots of Windows in the studio to let in great light and give a nice view of the street. We felt right at home! The subway station is a short walk away and a trip to Manhattan (Central Park) takes about 30 mins which was so convenient! Would recommend this place to anyone!! Thank you Leecia and Mike for your hospitality and great little rental!
This studio is on the top floor of a historic brownstone in the Stuyvessant Heights area of the Bedford-Stuyvessant neighborhood of Brooklyn. With tree-lined blocks of Victorian brownstones and churches, this lovely residential area is full of friendly neighbors and historic charm . An impressive hybrid of urban and residential, it exemplifies elegant city living as designed in the late 1800's. Rich in African-American history and architectural beauty, it offers restaurants, shopping, groceries, playgrounds, and above all else, a convenient 18-minute subway ride to Manhattan. Close proximity to other notable Brooklyn attractions, such as Prospect Park and other dynamic Brooklyn neighborhoods like hip Williamsburg and classic Park Slope, add to the appeal. Overall, a good affordable home base from which to explore New York City easily while having a calm, cozy place to return to each day.
