Why The Owner chose Upper Peninsula Michigan

This is a beautiful location right on the shore of Lake Michigan and we fell in love with it the first time we saw it.

What makes this cottage unique

It is close to Manistique for groceries and essentials and yet far enough away to be quiet! Restaurants: Three Seasons- good for breakfast/lunch; on US2 by Gray Wolf Lodge. Marleys-quaint, old bar for good burgers; 127 Walnut in Manistique Trading Post- deli sandwiches; off US2 just past the river ; West of town on CR 442 Main Street Pizza- take out only; Cedar and Walnut Manistique also has Subway, Pizza Hut, Hardys, Arbys, Dairy Kream soft serve ice cream Dreamland- best pasties in the UP, homemade bread/sausage; 15 miles east of cottage Chamberlain’s- in Curtis, northeast of Manistique, but worth the drive Bear Trap or Dog Patch if you go to Munising.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The cottage is impeccably well maintained and this part of the lake is gorgeous. We hope to come back next year.

Pristine lake view cabin

  • 5 of 5

We returned here again for a wonderfully peaceful week. We love the moods of the lake and enjoy listening and looking out at it. We saw eagles flying over the beach daily! There is so much around the area to do and if you want more there's so many waterfalls, lighthouses in the area , and of course the Mackinac Bridge. We really enjoyed seeing that! We had plans to go to Whitefish Museum but decided to save it for our next time.

The cabin is so clean and decorated so lovely and has everything you could possibly need while you're here. The washer and dryer was a big plus for us. We really appreciate Mike and Brenda sharing their vacation home with us.

Beautiful, quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a quiet location on the water when we planned our trip. We also wanted a pet free place because of allergies. The cabin is right on Lake Michigan and the lake breeze was perfect. We did not spend a lot of time at the cabin because there is so much to do around the area. The cabin included everything we needed and was very comfortable. There are hiking trails at the end of the road or you can hike the beach endlessly. We had a great time! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Beautiful U.P. spot!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a very relaxing week at your cabin! Comfortable beds, a kitchen with everything you could need, a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack a lot, a fantastic location and view, woods and animals for my 12 year old adventure seeker to explore, a basketball hoop for my 14 year old who doesn't put the ball down and a comfortable couch and remote for my guy who rarely gets to sit! Your location made it easy to hit all the beautiful spots with an easy drive. We've been using VRBO for a long time and you kept the experience easy. Your home was perfect! Thank You!

Wonderful Stay, living in country luxury with wildness all around

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week in this beautiful northern Michigan home. Truly luxury with wilderness all around - a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Some specifics - very well appointed throughout. The kitchen is very well stocked and there is absolutely no need to eat out with what this home provides and a great, reasonable priced grocery store within easy driving distance. The home is spacious with wonderful views of the lake from all rooms except the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. A full size washer and dryer were great to have and we took full advantage of them. Plenty of closet space and dressers to store items so there was no living out of suitcases. The bed was outstanding, I sometimes have difficulty sleeping on a different bed the first several nights but this bed and bedding were great. The owners were excellent communicators, providing detailed information about sights to see, places to dine and shop - they were very responsive to all communications. To sum it up a beautiful location and home, very comfortable and cozy with everything to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Spectacular sunrises and evening sky over the lake. The stars at night were breathtaking.

I would highly recommend this home be high on your place to visit list. I agree with all the other do not due this home justice.

very nice!

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's second stay in this house. It is very clean and has everything you could need for cooking, entertaining. We enjoyed swimming off of the limestone beach which is a lot of fun but not recommended for weak swimmers. There are a lot of nice beaches around and it is only a short drive into town. Close to lots of other UP attractions as well. Looking forward to another future visit.
