This recently remodeled vacation home is located at the end of a cul de sac on Thorn Mountain, overlooking the village of Jackson in the heart of New Hamshire's White Mountains. The fireplaced living room has a cathedral ceiling and two 6-foot sliders leading out to a deck with a spectacular view of Mt. Washington. There is a full bathroom and two bedrooms on the main floor - one with a double bed and one with two twins. The fully equipped kitchen is part of the new construction - added only two years ago and features granite counters, a Jennair stove, dishwasher and microwave. The dining area seats 8-10 comfortably. On the upper floor, there is a large bedroom/office with two twin beds, another full bath, and a large master bedroom with a king-size bed, a working fireplace and a window seat perfect for lazing away a winter afternoon with a good book.

We love the location of this property. Very close to Skiing, Black Mountain, Attitash/Bear Peak, and Wildcat. It makes for a wonderful Home Base. At the end of a cul de sac, you have a lot of privacy. The views to Mt Washington are outstanding, and we love looking down at the twinkling lights of town (Jackson) in the evening. Tom always has a fire built and ready to be lit in the fireplace, which we, as weary travelers, are very appreciative of. The kitchen works well for us, as we bring a good amount of food to prepare, it is open and you have a wonderful view from there as well.
We had a wonderful weeks vacation at the Defusco home in Jackson, New Hampshire. The house suited all our needs well.. Nice big open floor plan ...kitchen dining and living room with fabulous fireplace.. The village of Jackson twinkles below and the view of Mount Washington summit is incredible.. Located pretty convenient to several ski mountains.. The owners are very nice and easy to deal with ..
Whether you are staying as a romantic couple looking to relax or a family of six looking to spend some time in Jackson, NH this place feels like a vacation. Sit and read local up-to-date magazines and newspapers to find out the local hub hub in front of a majestic field stone fire place. “The radiant heat is so soothing”. Or stand on the over-sized deck and lose yourself in the view of the Presidential Mountain Range. I challenge any B&B to duplicate the view from the master bedroom. There are not too many places where you can sit up in your bed in the morning and see an uninterrupted view of Mount Washington. The open concept layout of the first floor, blanketed with windows, keeps you engaged so you won’t miss that special moment. The kitchen has everything you need to create a scratch breakfast for eight or a romantic dinner for two. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here.
We have stayed here twice and we are going back in 2013 for a third time. This house sits quietly at the very end of a pretty road. The house has a very large master bedroom with a great bathroom. We have two small kids who sleep on the same level. Guests can stay on the main floor near their own full bathroom. The kitchen is open and fairly large with a good selection of pots/pans and other things you may need to prepare meals. We spent many hours on the back deck eating meals and taking in the outstanding views of Mt. Washington.
Jackson is a wonderful and picture perfect small town with a small number of stores and many more stores about 20 min away. There is a great place in Jackson where you can bring kids to wade in the water among rocks or go for a run / walk. You can even find a great coffe shop in town as well.
Very nice owners to work with as well.
Our family had a wonderful winter vacation stay at this home. The photos do not do it nearly the justice it deserves. Upon entering you walk thru a hallway flanked on either side by bedrooms, into an open concept living room, kitchen, dining room, with cathedral ceilings. The far wall, consisting mostly of sliding glass doors, looks out onto the majestic White Mountains! (The kitchen set up is great, as the cook gets the wonderful view in the morning while the kids are bellied up to the breakfast bar.) Since we were staying the week, we ate many meals at the house, and easily found everything we needed.
There are 2 fireplaces, (which were already loaded when we got there, all we had to do was light them.) one in the living room, and one in the master bedroom. I loved the raised fireplace in the living room we had it going every night, so cozy.
We love to ski at Black Mountain and we were blessed this past year with a tremendous amount of snow, still, someone came and plowed nice and early so we had no problem getting to the mountain.
I am certain this would make a beautiful summer vacation as well. The house is the last one on a cul-de-sac, so there is alot of privacy. What you don't really see in the pictures is how high up you actually are , the views really are quite breath-taking. The town of Jackson is very quaint with some very good restaurants.....and ....well you've got the mountains!
Located in the heart of New Hampshire's scenic White Mountains, Jackson is a lovely, quiet village with something for everyone, no matter what the season. Home to the world famous Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, winter fun includes x-country skiing on hundreds of miles of groomed trails or downhill skiing only minutes away at one of five ski areas. Not to mention skating, sleigh rides, and winter hiking. In warmer weather, the choices are virtually endless - hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, golfing - you name it, we have it. Ride a zipline at Wildcat or a waterslide at Attitash. Spend a day with the kids at Storyland, or get yourself to the top of Mt. Washington (tallest peak in the Northeast) by foot, car, or Cog Railway. And if you're a shopper, there are outlets galore in nearby North Conway. Oh, and did we mention the fall foliage? Spectacular!
