Villa de Palmas was designed by an architectural firm that specializes in Mediterranean/Caribbean style homes with the High End Client in mind. The Eco friendly virtually zero carbon footprint subsidized Solar power estate occupies nearly 3 acres on a very secluded pink sand beach and is situated on one of the highest points in the area commanding a 360 degree view of the lush tropical foliage and the azure seascape. There are two very private homes apart from one another yet close enough for same parties. One home being very large and grand while the smaller cottage adds to the estate distinction. Both have fully appointed rooms affording magnificent panoramic views and brilliantly designed to capture the gentle trade winds that bless the island. All are generous and comfortable and include great rooms, fully equipped modern kitchens, office desk with DSL high speed internet/wireless networks, telephones, entertainment areas with Amazon Fire TV, dinning, and living areas, functional outdoor pergola with a stone dining table, bar and barbecue combination patios, tables, 2 separate lounge areas with high end chaise accommodating 8. Large covered wrap around Loggias with stylish furniture. Each home has 2 master bedrooms all with their own balconies with 3 having separate outside entrances. There is a Library breezeway perfect for reading or just a quiet space to relax, Laundry room and much more. The separate private Cottage home captures a stunning ocean view above and through the palms and is a bit closer to the ocean complimenting the estate.
Entering the Grand Estate of Villa de Palmas is an enlightening experience and is distinctively Perched high on a hill which can be seen at a distance. Tasteful entry monuments establish your arrival from the road followed by low decorative walls as you enter the properties interior circular driveway. In the center is a Pineapple Fountain and pond adding to the tropical elegance.
The Estate of Villa de Palmas has been family owned since its inception. After 3 years of searching, the right piece of beach front property was purchased in 1989. The estate took 8 years to develop with a vision for grandness 'island style'. With gratitude, we can share the wealth of the land and water that has been blessed with such beauty and serenity. Today after 25 years, Villa de Palmas continues that vision. Just a few welcoming steps up from the entrance will afford an enlightening rejuvenation of what island life should be, totally carefree. The Main home is elevated atop a hill uniquely distinguishing itself with a 360 degree view, capturing the azure sea on its east facing loggia. The Cottage home compliments and expands this beautiful estate. Take in an afternoon tea, enjoy a spectacular view of the sea, feel the ocean breezes and smell the villa’s flora, fauna and unspoiled vegetation. Villa de Palmas is in a class of its own catering to the affluent client.
The Estate's crown jewel, our secluded powdery and pearlescent pink-sand beach is just a moments walk down a stepping stoned and sand pathway lined with sea lilies. With its crescent shape stretching 3 miles and an abundance of natural sand dunes with sea oat grass, sea grapes and coconut palms, you will be immersed in its tranquility. Stroll along the shore at waters edge and you will soon discover the hidden coves welcoming you to take a dip in the warm crystal clear turquoise water. On your way back, pause at the beach’s entrance under a palm thatched-roof Tiki. Our favorite is the Beach Bungalow complete with bedding or lounges and colorful drapes for those who want a bit more privacy. Six whimsical and colorful designer chairs invite you to take a siesta under our larger palm thatched-roof Tiki after your beach walk - the perfect venue for gazing at the sea while you listen to the songs of the wind through the casuarinas. Tune in or tune out this is a perfect setting for mindless relaxation. You may be there all day, it truly is paradise.

About Bruce Palmer
Both my wife Dhjanna and I are the grateful owners of this beautiful Mediterranean Estate on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas...Villa de Palmas. "Palmas'" meaning many palms describes the estate quite well. The Land was purchased in 1989. After many years of hard work the estate was complete in 2000. We truly are amazed at how well it all turned out and continue to add improvements. My wife and I have 2 wonderful girls 18 and 22. I am an international airline pilot for a major airline in the USA. Our home is between Ft. Lauderdale and Philadelphia, we frequently travel to the Philippines where my wife is from for family visits. Needless to say we manage quite busy lives. Our goal is to share what we have through this unique way of offering the estate. It is a real joy to hear all the vacation experiences of our guests over the years. Life is beautiful and we feel very blessed. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our site and we look forward to having you as our personal guests in our beautiful home on the lovely island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

In the near future we may include 1 or 2 cars (Volvo V70 or Subaru Sportswagon) with property as gratis. The location is perfection! Renting the two homes on the property allowed us to host various family members but still have our own space. Waking up to see the sunrise was priceless. The ongoing breezes kept everything cool and delightful. Terrific introduction to Eleuthera.

Paradise at Villa de Palmas
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Villa de Palmas. We are going back in June, 2018 & again at Christmas 2019. It is a fabulous villa on Double Bay with a spectacular, long, walking beach. Villa de Palmas has everything you need including all amenities. The crashing waves and constant breeze will lull you to sleep at night after a long, sunny & hot day. Bruce & Djhanna are very gracious hosts & Anne Bethel, their property manager is very responsive to anything you need. We highly recommend Villa de Palmas. That is why we keep coming back! First Class Villa de Palmas vacation on Eleuthera
My wife & I & our 2 adult sons absolutely love Villa de Palmas. Spectacular view of the ocean with a constant breeze & crashing waves that will lull you to sleep at night. The main house & cottage are very roomy & well appointed with every amenity you will ever need. This is a very special place. We are definitely coming back. Lot's to see & do on Eleuthera. Anne Bethel, Property Manager & her husband Clyde are wonderful people, very attentive to all of our needs.

Pretty much the best I've rented on Eleuthera
Hi there, you are smart to read the reviews for this island. Many people love it and visit often. We also post reviews and you can see what works for you and maybe not for others. I am one of those that loves the island and has stayed in many homes over the years. This home is the best so far. And I find that this home had pretty much everything. What is the one thing they didn't have that I don't mind? An air conditioner in the main room of the main house. That's it. All the private rooms had them. I just say that so you get the answer right away, but the REAL story here is how PERFECT this place truly is. The location, the kitchen is TRULY fully equipped (GOOD pots and pans, GOOD coffee maker, GOOD oven, several cooking utensils). With a gas range which is hard to find on the island. Also a water filtration system, so no buying huge jugs of drinking water (the only rental home I've ever seen like this on the island), what comes from the sink is just fine and a HUGE benefit to you. The beach is SPOTLESS. There are toys and floaties, although I used none. The grill area is very nice, the patio as well. There's a cute covered thatch towards the beach with 4 adirondack chairs perfect for falling asleep during the day. On an island that typically has indoor and outdoor bugs, I never saw one bug inside, not a spider or even an ant. I put my breakfast on the ledge outdoors to take a picture and a hummingbird came by, first I've seen of that on the island. I mean this is just a perfect location, quiet, off the road and steps from the beach. I mean, I've stayed at many homes and the main problem is things aren't as advertised. This place has internet that works. Cable channels that work (many other homes have cable, but it's just a few networks with many highlighted, but none visible). A phone that works. A functional kitchen (other homes have warped pans, dull knives, etc). And the bathrooms are nice and spacious. Good water pressure. I really can't say enough good things. This will be my 5th year visiting the island and I stupidly skipped over this one because it seemed like too much house for me, even with the ability to rent the guest house as a single traveler, I chose the main house and was very pleased. I'm happy I finally decided on this home. Even if you are traveling with just two people the main house is great or get the guest house, it's plenty enough for two people. The high ceilings and space in the main home are worth the extra bit. Rent this!
The best on Double Bay!
Both the main house and the guest house were equipped with all we needed for a fantastic stay. The gazebo near the beach was the perfect place to enjoy Eleuthera's unmatched beach. Property was perfectly maintained and Anne, the manager, was wonderful. The owner was exceptional; his handbook covered everything one needs to know when staying in Eleuthera. We've been to this island a few times and this house is by far the best. We had a simply fabulous week at Villa de Palmas.
Double Bay is a private sub division on Eleuthera located just north of Windermere Island or between Palmetto Point and Savanna Sound communities. It has a pristine scalloped pink sand beach with a few small islands just off the coast making it one of the most picturesque areas on the island. The island of Eleuthera is 110 miles in length and Villa de Palmas is in the middle so travel north or south, whether it's just sightseeing, diving, fishing, shopping, or just take in a local restaurant, you will find something for everyone. Known for its people friendly atmosphere, one soon becomes attached to the island life quickly. Villa de Palmas is a LARGE ESTATE consisting of 2 homes that is perfect for families/parties who want to be together yet private. The private Larger Main Home can accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 master bedrooms and 2 children in a queen sofa bed in great room. The private Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 master bedrooms and 2 children in 2 single sofa beds in great room. Our standard with Children is typically 12 Year’s old or less, however, we advise our guest to make that judgment themselves. Children under 2 are Free. Maximum 12 guests. Your party will be automatically booked in the Larger Main Home first up to 4 adults/2 children (maximum), then the Cottage (Entire Estate) will be included once over that amount of (maximum) guests. *You may also request to occupy the Cottage (Entire Estate) which can be added to your booking, regardless of the amount of guests in your party, for an extra fee of $300.00. Please state this in your inquiry. Our estate policy is for the "same party" booked in either home assuring your privacy, unless agreed to in advance, which affords a discounted rate for both parties booking. If applicable, Bahamian VAT Taxes may be charged. Payments can be made using VRBO payment method, PayPal, Wire. A Standard vendor Fee of 2.75% will be applied to PayPal or Credit Card transactions when applicable. Rates are subject to change. Please contact us via inquiry to re-confirm total cost of booking. Its always highly recommended protecting your vacation as an investment with "Property Damage Protection" and "Cancellation" insurance offered on the VRBO/Homeaway site. If you do Not purchase "Property Damage Protection" insurance there will be a $2,500 security deposit required. Our Rental Agreement will be attached and required to be completed and submitted to us before access to our property.
