Overview

Woodstock House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6.

Central frame is an updated 1820's barn, preserving original details while introducing modern, clean lines. A loft space on the second floor houses the master bedroom (queen) with a separate sitting area, in addition to a separate (double) bedroom and full bath. The downstairs has an open flow, with a newly-renovated galley kitchen, informal and formal dining areas, and a living room that includes an old fireplace made of round stones. This floor also has a bedroom (2 twins) overlooking rock outcropping, a small nursery, a mudroom, a laundry area, and a full bath.

The house works well for people with and without children. It is peaceful and quiet. It is less than 1/2 a mile from town, but also in a wooded area so you feel you are away. Behind the house is a rushing stream, a bridge (on our property), and a yard suitable for playing or relaxing.

The house is 1600 sq. ft, all useful and pleasant. It can be accessed by bus from NYC.

Excellent Woodstock vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a week at the house this past summer. The house was very charming and comfortable. The location was very convenient to walk into town for shopping & eating. We enjoyed taking day trips to all the neighboring towns. The communication with Jill was excellent, she was very available and made every effort to make sure we had a great week in Woodstock. We would highly recommend this house for your vacation stay in Woodstock.

A perfect break away in the Catskills

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this charming property with a friend and her 5 year old son over the July 4th holidays and we had a fabulous time!

It was our first time in Woodstock and the town offers a great place to wander and soak up the Catskill atmosphere. Judy & Jill make sure all our needs were met in the planning phase and we had great recommendations of where to swim in creeks and swimming holes locally.

The house itself is perfect for adults and kids alike. Our 5 year old was happiest splashing around and exploring in the private creek at the bottom of the garden and we were all entranced by the nightly firefly show! Inside, everything is comfortable, spacious, clean, bright and beautifully designed.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this property to a group of adults or families with young kids.

Great Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This charming home is immaculately clean & cozy. Walking distance to town, yet tucked away on a pretty stream. The owners were quick to respond to any questions. We spent a lovely long weekend with another couple. Would definitely come again.

Lovely creekside

  • 5 of 5

This home had everything we needed for a wonderful family gathering! The kitchen is well stocked and there are two dining tables to choose from! We bought a badminton set at the local hardware and played everyday on the lawn when we weren't barbecuing, sightseeing at the awe inspiring Opus 40, and sailing on the Hudson. Resting each evening by the stream was truly magical. This is a country stay while only a few minutes down the road from town with its great restaurants (Bear Cafe was a favorite!) and shops. Only note: the winding staircase to the upstairs is narrow--with small step treads for anyone who might have issues with such things. Our hosts could not have been nicer! We were graciously provided a late check out. All in all a very special place.

Beautiful home & fun stay in Woodstock

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our 1 week winter stay in this beautiful, cozy converted barn. My husband & I spent the school vacation week with our 2 teens. The house is minutes walking from the fun town of Woodstock with restaurants & little shops, surrounded by other fun & interesting cities & towns - Saugerties, Rhinebeck, New Paltz, Poughkeepsie (Vassar College). Judy was great, very straight forward in helping us with our reservation & questions. The house is clean & well maintained just the right size right for the 4 of us and our dog. It has a well equipped kitchen and multiple spaces for being together - a round breakfast table, a longer dining room table, a living room area, a TV area upstairs. We found ourselves rotating through all these areas for different activities and conversation. The beds were fantastically comfortable. The book collection was nice touch for vacation reading. (A special thanks for the Woodstock book so we could learn all about the famous concert that forever changed the town - & the country). The shower & tub perfect. I loved the entry "mud room" for hanging coats and leaving boots & shoes. We slept in, we read, we ate out & in, we did art projects & we talked & laughed, & watched movies every night. I was sad to leave! A perfect stay. I definitely recommend this home away from home ,and would love to return in the summer to explore the area in the warmer weather.

Quite, clean and lovely

  • 4 of 5

My party and I had a very lovely stay at this quite country home!

Everything was well stocked which made our stay easy and enjoyable.

The beds were comfortable and I slept wonderfully!

Great location to downtown and SUPER COZY all around!!!!

The only drawback was the spiral staircase for my medium size dog.

A bit tricky (had to carry her) But we managed alright

Would highly recommend!

Woodstock is a charming, vibrant town with an identity that both includes and predates its ties to the 60's. Earlier in the 20th century, it drew artists to the Byrdecliffe community, and remains a center for creative expression. There are many things to do, if visitors want, from drop-in yoga and pilates classes to children's story hour at the local library to group walks. Alternately, Woodstock is an easy place to withdraw from others, into nature or other pursuits, and simply relax. It is near many other appealing towns, each with its own identity, as well as the kinds of relaxing activities that New Yorkers often miss, such as bowling, movie theaters without lines, quiet lakes, etc. etc.
