This is The One!

A phenomenal beach vacation in a fantastic beach house! The house is about 100 yards from the Stinson Beach Market in town, 100 feet from the beach and yet offers unrivaled privacy and seclusion. It has a modern kitchen and bathrooms that appear to be newly renovated and all the technological comforts of home (cable, flat screen and wi-fi) while maintaining the character of a cozy beach house. I spent most days on the beach relaxing and would come back, rinse off in the very private outdoor shower and jump in the hot tub. For those that choose to stay closer to home, the property offers private patios that get sun all day as well as areas that are shaded by trees and surrounded by a gorgeous and incredibly well maintained garden and pond. If you like to grill, the house offers a vert large 3 burner stainless Weber Grill that is piped for gas. No hassling with propane tanks.

We had a great time in a house that offered us the chance to simply relax and decompress in a serene and beautiful environment. We will be back!

Cozy, Comfortable and Charming! A great place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

I drove up on Friday, parked my car and with the exception of a day-jaunt to nearby Bolinas and Pt. Reyes Station, left it parked for the entire week. This home is a wonderful getaway....well equipped and well cared-for. I loved having my morning coffee in the garden with the sounds of the pond and the songs of the local birds and ocean surf in the background. Just a few short steps from the house, is an expansive beach perfect for long walks, or just sitting in the sun. If you want a change of scene, less than a 5 minute walk brings you to the quaint town of Stinson Beach where you can explore local artists' work, browse the wonderful bookstore or eat in one of the local restaurants (The Parkside is a favorite) with menu items supporting nearby farmers, ranchers, and fisherman.

In the evenings, I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. I love to cook, and I found everything I needed to create a great meal. (I especially loved the gourmet stove!) The living room is a wonderful place to kick back by the fire and watch a movie.

As I often started my days in the garden, I ended them there as well. Sheltered from the evening sea breeze, it was wonderful to sit by the outdoor fireplace and enjoy the quiet night sky. A hot tub under the stars, followed by a good night sleep in a comfortable bed was just what was needed for a perfect week. I slept in the downstairs bedroom that directly accesses the garden (I did not experience any moldy smell as was mentioned in a previous review) The floor to ceiling windows provided a wonderful view of the lit garden at night as well as the beauty of the first light of day.

I would highly recommend this fantastic spot to anyone who needs a change of pace - I can't wait to come back!

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

We rented this wonderful place for a week of relaxation, rejuvenation, and the sound of the ocean. We got just that! Living room is cozy with plenty of space to stretch out and watch a movie. The front door deck is a groovy place to giggle & you can see the ocean. The beach, well what can I say, it was perfect weather, perfect water, perfect location. Good beds, good kitchen and eating areas and the garden, WOW.

Two things you want to be aware of. Some nights we had visits from mosquitoes because we left all the doors & windows open and there are no screens. Also the bedroom with queen bed on bottom floor has a moldy smell which I think they are working on. All in all great place for the price. We will be back.

So beautiful, so relaxing, just right

  • 5 of 5

This house is responsible for renewing our whole family. The cozy feel inside complements the stunning (huge!) garden outside -- complete with fish pond and fire pit. With two young kids, it's a plus that the house doesn't open right onto the beach, and even better that the beach is only four or five houses away for short legs to walk. We like that it feels so secluded even though it's so close not only to the beach but also to the little town, its playground, and closest of all to the little ice cream shop/video rental place (called "Flying Pig") that makes for a fun evening jaunt. Our kids loved taking a pony ride at 5 Brooks Ranch a few miles north on Hwy 1 when the wind was too strong for beach play. When we didn't feel like cooking (on the cool commercial-grade gas stove), the Parkside Restaurant was a yummy kid-friendly solution -- a short walk on the beach away (bring flashlights to light the way home!). The hot tub in the garden with the sound of the waves provides that only-in-Marin experience. It's the perfect get-away -- couldn't recommend it strongly enough. Can't wait to go back!
