About Karen Harris

Owner is a Georgia native and fell in love with the beauty of the North Georgia mountains.

Karen Harris purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Karen Harris chose North Georgia Mountains

Georgia has many beautiful areas but the North Georgia mountains as a beauty of all its own. Our home has a multi peak mountain view of 30 plus mountains, a panoramic view with lake too. My husband's favorite time is grilling while watching the sunset. This home is just 2 hours outside Atlanta, Georgia and is a quick get away anytime you need to get away from the hustle of the city or suburb. The town is small enough to give you a calm feeling of being somewhere so different, but large enough to have two grocery stores and many restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. The peoples are friendly and make you feel welcome. Antique shopping, water sports or just relaxing on one of the many swings at Town County Beach and park is a true experience.

What makes this cabin unique

Being secluded and enjoying natures beauty along with one of the best views of Brasstown Bald, the tallest point in Georgia with the lake and sunset is truly an experience. Relax in a mountain decor home with rockers and and wake up in one of our log beds. Enjoy cable TV, wireless internet and all the features of home or just turn everything off and feel like you are miles away from everything and enjoy the birds feeding at one of our feeders. Just 2 miles from the middle of Hiawassee, 25 minutes to Helen Ga. and close to Murphy NC. All seasons have something to offer like hiking, boating, shopping are just a few minutes away. Create memories your family will truly cherish.

Million Dollar View!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very clean, adorable, well-maintained cabin with a view that cannot be beat! We spent a relaxing week here. The drive up to the house is narrow and twisty, but it is paved. We used the hot tub almost every day. We had an issue with the main TV and the owners brought a new TV the next day! Kitchen was well-stocked. Activities to do: go see Bell Mountain...view is amazing. Go to Brasstown Bald...also a gorgeous view (of 4 states). Brother's at Willow Ranch restaurant in Young Harris. Mining at Rose Creek Mine in Franklin, NC. Ingles is a great grocery store! Departure rules are similar to those of other rental houses we have been to, except for taking the trash to landfill. It was a lovely week!

This place was amazing. Girlfriends and I from high school we graduated in 1980 met for the first time since graduation at a cabin. The owner is an amazing woman. She's caring and wants you to have a wonderful time. The house was amazingly clean. Everything you need is supplied. The kitchen is well-stocked, plenty of towels and linens supplied. Overall everything was amazing it was the perfect vacation. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Fantastic cabin and view!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I along with and a friend stayed at this cabin for four days and wished we could have moved in permanently. The cabin was amazing, we loved everything about it and the view could not have been any better. There are so many fun activities in the area we only had time to see a fraction of them. This is definitely a AAA vacation site!

not a great experience

  • 1 of 5

the house is fine- the view is nice

the co-ordination with the owner was disappointing.

not all her fees are quoted and you get surprised when you arrive because you don't get a code to get in until you pay the additional costs that you were never informed about- this is unsettling after a long day travel and in the rain with no way to get in after you have paid your bill.

also bring your own toilet paper and paper towels and soap because its not there and you will be heading down the mountain to get some. Also wash t all the sheets and dry them before you go- what is the maid for?

Owner's Response: Travelers looking at this review, . All info is on this listing. The guest who left this review did NOT READ the information on the website and also my check in instructions completely. All fees for extra people over 5 and pets are on the site and full instructions and information sent out a week prior to arrival. If the traveler had just read all the instructions none of this would of been in issue. Instructions for acquiring the key code are on the directions, they were not followed. We do ask ,stated on the directions, to be contacted within an hour of arrival if there are any cleaning issues so they can be addressed. No call was received from this guest on any issues and we would of been more than happy to drop by toilet tissue if contacted. You can see all our other reviews we are in the business to make guest happy. Stated on the check in instructions, if other paper products are needed like paper towels or plates, there is an Ingles grocery in town (2 1/2 miles) your can pick up items. It is at the discretion of the guest to arrive at the home first or make a trip to the store first for supplies. I try to be "earth friendly" by supplying cloth hand towels. I do supply trash bags, hand soap, shampoo, dish soap and cleaning supplies and spa chemicals. If guest choose to start the wash with towels only we appreciate it, its not required. We do a thorough job of cleaning by washing all used bed linens, making beds, cleaning bathroom sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, mirrors, kitchen appliances, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning sliding glass doors, taking trash, and cleaning the hot tub by draining, cleaning and refilling between each guest (if they use the hot tub) This what the cleaning fee covers. You can see by my other past reviews we have made many guest happy and we have lots of repeat guest. I am in the business to making our guest have a memorable stay. Thank you for taking the time to read my response to this review.
