|Minimum Stay||31 nights|
What a piece of heaven on earth! Crack the windows and go to sleep to the sound of the waves at night.
Walk to the beach in 2 minutes. Go for a surf.
Catch a game of golf.
Go running, biking, or walking on the Great Highway nature trail.
Hop a bus or muni (street car) and take off for a day of city tours.
Rent a horse and go galloping on the beach. Take the kids to watch the paragliders, all within a 10 minute drive.
Nice private garden with gas grill & picnic table, roses and citrus trees, and patio heater for those cool nights under the stars. Completely fenced in, should you need to corral the kids or doggies.
Walk to Java Beach, for a morning cup of coffee, or the Bashful Bull for the best pancakes around.
So much to see and do in this corner of San Francisco, which gives you access to the awe (and ahhh...) of nature and the buzz of the City by the Bay, not to mention a quick getaway to wine country (less than an hour's drive, ask me for recommendations!).
The house is a beautiful example of 40's architecture with two bedrooms and a full bath with tub/shower. We've got you stocked up with the beach chairs, blankets, and coolers. We even have a mountain bike for your use (with bike lock) to zoom up and down the Great Highway nature trail.
For the “automobile optional” crowd, we’ve prepared an extensive collection of what to do on foot, by metro or bus. The heat of the city is at your disposal while coming home to the cool ocean breeze and the sound of the ocean, which will make you fall into one of your deepest sleeps. 4 blocks to the Muni, L-Taraval gets you right downtown. 1-2 blocks to several bus connections.
When I'm in town, I live in the 'pied-a-terre' in the lower level, so you may see me coming and going (but staying out of your hair!). Hit me up for any sort of advice from where to get a pizza, to what vineyards up in Napa to check out.

I've lived a good bit of my time outside of the USA, and LOVE to travel. The best way to see another country is through the eyes of a native, not a just a website! I love meeting new people and always seek to stay with friends or family so I get that 'insider' perspective.
My background is in foreign languages, and software. I travel a lot in my career, and have lived in Brazil, Mexico, Belgium, and Germany (in addition to the USA of course) I come from a big family, largely of Irish and German background.
I love San Francisco for its proximity to so much nature, while offering so much culture. I love my beach house and am constantly upgrading this or that. On the rare occasion that I'm in town when guests are visiting, I live in the 'pied-a-terre' on the lower level. So if you see me coming and going be sure to hit me up for advice on what's happening in the city or where to take the kids to watch the paragliders.
Jamie Groark purchased this house in 2005
I chose San Francisco for its diversity and beauty. I love the international crowd it attracts as well as the young Americans called out to the great West.
I chose this home in the Sunset district for its proximity to the ocean, safe and quiet neighborhood (really safe! 1 neighbor is a fireman, the other a policeman!), I love the beach, the walking trails, the biking trails and so many close by attractions. The hustle and bustle of the rest of the city is either a quick car ride away, or easy by public transport. It's close to the highway system (101 N, or 280). The SFO airport is a 20 minute drive. I also chose it because it's on the opposite side of town from Fisherman's Wharf. You can have it when you want it, and then you can set your sights on something other than cotton candy and cheap souvenirs (sorry...!).
Its such a short walk to the beach, there is no excuse for not going every day. Organic market --on foot. Great pizza, Thai, Mexican --on foot. Surfer bar --on foot. Surfer coffee shop with free internet --on foot. I live in the lower unit, so I'm usually available to hit up for questions on what to do and what to see. The neighbors are super friendly too, and range from surfers to silicon valley commuters with kids. (fast escape to the 280-S).
My favorite activity is my walk on the beach down to the Cliff House and back, or a bike ride to Golden Gate Park where absolutely everything from Buffalos to Museums, Japanese Tea Garden to Soccer fields abound. Go across the Golden Gate Bridge and head to Point Bonita Light House, Hike Mount Tamalpais, visit Muir Woods, or just stay home and light a fire!
Hi there guests!
Thank you for staying at 'Here's The Beach". I really appreciate your business
and would like any comments on how I can make your and other future
customer's stay more comfortable, exciting, convenient, or what have you.
Please take a moment and share your thoughts.
My family stayed at this rental for 5 nights, and it was awesome! You are literally about 5 minutes walking distance from the beach, which is a great way to start your day! The condo is well stocked with anything you need, and beds were comfortable, and the decor is wonderful. While you are here, you have to walk down to Noriega street, there is a great little produce store, pizza place and Devils Teeth Bakery makes the best blueberry and lemon scones I have ever tasted! I highly recommend this rental, as you are able to be right by the ocean, but are just a quick drive on the freeway to any of the major attractions :)
My husband and I spent 6 nights at 'Here's the Beach'. The property is in a safe neighborhood, well maintained, and contains everything you need. There's no need for a car as bus lines are very close plus 2 metro lines accessible by foot or a short bus ride. The owner is very friendly and shares his knowledge of the local area. I've used VRBO several times and this property will be saved to my short list of places to rent again.
My family had a great time here. Jamie's house is clean, comfortable, with includes practically anything and everything you may need. Jamie is very approachable and at the same time, not intrusive during our stay. We wanted to stay away from the "touristy" locations but at the same time are close enough to go there when we felt like it. This neighborhood is quiet and safe. We love sleeping in the 50s with our windows slightly open (coming from Texas with 100+ degree temp) and hearing the sound of the ocean waves in the background. This place is cozy and relaxing! Having a guaranteed parking is a great relief. The Zoo, public transportation, beach, and the Park are all closely by (.25 - 1 mile). We got our deposit back < 2 days. I would come back again to stay at this place.
By looking at the calendar, it looks like this place is filling up fast! Just don't fill up during my next stay in SF! :)
This pad really met our needs. Very comfortable and well taken care of. Hope to book there again next year. Very pleasent community, quiet and relaxing.
We were staying for 3 weeks at the "here's the beach". And all I can say is: we fully enjoyed everything. The house is just a few blocks away from the beach, the zoo and the bus that takes you downtown. The house is fully equiped and confortable to live in. And Jamie (the owner) is a wonderful person, easy to talk to and most helpful (we and specially the kids just loved him). I'm sure we'll come back next time we're in San Francisco.
This rental was conveniently situated within walking distance to the beach. You could listen to the ocean as you fell asleep! The beautiful accommodations were exactly as described and pictured . The owner is extremely kind and helpful. He truly loves where he lives and wants to make sure that the renters experience staying at "here's the beach" is as comfortable and enjoyable with little effort on the renters part. His recommendations for local attractions and stores were spot on! I would most definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this rental to friends and family.
Golden Gate Park (it has it all, Google it!), San Francisco Zoo, Stonestone Mall (Nordstrom's, Macy's, etc.), Fort Funston for dog walking, parasailing, model airplane flying, hiking; 3 golf courses within a 5 minute drive. Cliff House for elegant ocean front dining. Beach Chalet for a microbrewery and good casual eats.
If I'm in my pied-a-terre in the lower unit just knock. I'll give you the latest scoop on what's happening and where the best restaurants in the neighborhood are.
