J. Burkgren purchased this house in 2008
We chose our Idaho Springs home because it is close to the city and we enjoy getting away with our family for long weekends of fishing, camping and biking.
Wildlife viewing, creek front property, easy access to historic downtown Idaho Springs, easy access to Yampa hot springs and spa, great restaurants (Beau Jo's pizza), great biking over Mount Evans road, easy access to skiing.
This house was great for our guys golf trip. Jen is extremely responsive and took great care in knowing we were happy. The front porch with the creek running and wonderful scenery was a great spot for just chilling out.
We stayed here for a family reunion. We had 4 generations with us. The house was beautiful and in a great location. Across the bridge there was a tree house and play set. There was a fence to keep the kids from falling in the stream. The house had a play room with tons of toys. The beds were comfortable and the house was beautifully decorated. Jen checked in with us by email multiple times during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. It was almost perfect. The only downfalls were that the upstairs rooms got kind of warm, I am told that is the case in all 2 story homes, however we stayed in 100 degree weather and we're still able to open windows and turn the air down to make it quite comfortable. Also, the grass was fairly tall in the playground area, but it was just grass and not weeds, so after a quick check for snakes we were comfortable letting the kids play. Other than those 2 small, very small, complaints, the house was fantastic. Everyone was amazed by the thought that was put into the place. Each bunk in the bunk room had its own light, there was a crib and a pack n play, there were signs everywhere with instructions on where things were or what to do with your towels. The comment,” they thought of everything" was said multiple times. This is the perfect place for families with kids or even all adults. Thank you so much Jen for making our vacation great!
The home was beautiful and very peaceful. My family stayed 6 nights and we enjoyed everyday and night. Perfect weather and perfect location. My children are grown, but the home is perfect for small children because of play room inside and tree house outside. We would stay there again. This was the best VRBO rental we have found.Thanks.
My family stayed at this beautiful mountain home for four days last week. We loved the open living area and well equipped kitchen. There was room to spare with our group of 6 adults and 3 children. Great family home! We enjoyed breakfast in the kitchen and dinners in the dinning room. Plenty of room for everyone. We thought it would be a problem with no TV on the main floor but didn't really miss it. The outside creek, treehouse and swing set were a big hit with our grandkids. We will definitely be back to enjoy more Colorado adventures and stay in this charming home!
This is the second time I have stayed at the property. This stay was just as good as the first one. The house is cozy, clean, and well equipped. We enjoyed playing board games and cooking breakfast every morning in the large kitchen. Would not have any reservations about booking it again in the future.
This house was set in a beautiful valley. With tall pine trees. The landscaping was gorgeous. The house had everything we needed & more. We had 3 generations that just wanted to escape the hot Texas heat & enjoy cool Mtn air. The beds were so comfy. There were throws all around to keep you comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Just a nice, quiet peaceful place. We will be back next year!
