If your idea of the perfect mountain vacation includes sitting in a rocking chair and looking at a spectacular mountain view, then Blackberry Knoll is the place for you. The sunrises are gorgeous as the sun rises in the wide open sky over the Blue Ridge Mountains. The stars are also beautiful in the clear mountain sky and the moon often shines in a fashion that is picture postcard perfect.
When you are ready for action though, there are plenty of activities to do. In McCaysville which was the site of the 1996 Olympic kayaking events, you can go rafting, tubing or kayaking in the Toccoa and Ocoee rivers. There are also plenty of trails and waterfalls to explore at in the Parks. You can also go fishing or boating in Lake Blue Ridge or one of the many rivers and streams around. If horseback riding is of interest to you, that is nearby also. Many folks also enjoy taking a train ride through the mountains on the Blue Ridge scenic railway.
When you are done outdoors, there is plenty of shopping and dining in the nearby towns of Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Ellijay, Jasper and Cherry Log. There you can find antiques, rustic furniture, clothing, crafts and many other things. There are also several orchards and many restaurants that are worth checking out.
Also---if you are on Facebook, you can go to the FB search engine and search Blackberry Knoll and you will see many more pictures!

Hello fellow travelers! I am glad that you have taken a few moments to look into renting my cabin. The mountains is one of my favorite places to visit. I love sitting on our cabin front porch and gazing over the mountains early in the morning with a good cup of coffee and enjoying all that God has created for us to enjoy. Over the years God has allowed me to travel to many places all over the world doing mission work. I own a plumbing and septic business and recently finished seminary with degree in Theological Studies. My hope is that this cabin be used to grow family and friends closer together and provide relaxation and refreshment from the cares and concerns of this life. We look forward to hearing from you! Have a fantastic vacation! ~Chris & Jennifer Batchelor
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009
We chose to buy a vacation rental in this location as the splendor of the mountains is a peace that has always brought us a sense of rest and appreciation for beauty. No matter the season, we find the mountains to be incredible year round.
Our cabin has a stunning year round mountain view that is difficult to find. Our location is easy to find just off of Hwy 5 between Blue Ridge and McCaysville. There are many activities to do with in minutes from our cabin.
This cabin is our favorite place to sit on the porch, coffee in hand and bask in the beauty right in front of us. Regardless of the season, the mountain view is always beautiful. We also love to browse in the antique shops, and eat in the local restaurants. We also enjoy a lazy tube ride down the Toccoa river on a hot summer day as well as exploring the many beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails in the area. You can also find horseback riding and fishing nearby.
Please note: We have been told by a few folks who visited our cabin on motorcycles that it is difficult to get in and out with a motorcycle due to the gravel road.
The greatest place to stay!!! Sunrise from the front deck. Mountains everywhere and the sweet sound of peace all around. Our family had such an incredible time! So much to do and even if you need to drive a little ways it is worth it! Our 3 yr old loved it so much she was sad we had to leave. 100% recommend staying here!!!! We look forward to returning, next time will be around the fall season to see the leaves change color!
My husband and I stayed here for a well needed getaway. I'm a nurse and he is a truck driver, so with that said we rarely have time to ourselves. This was a perfect place for some us time. The cabin was spacious and well decorated. Very clean with plenty of linens and kitchen needs.
We never turned the television on. We listened to the radio and made use of the cards that were inside the coffee table. The hot tub was also another well enjoyed relaxation.
The owner was awesome and responded to all my questions within a timely manner. I would recommend this place to anyone searching for a nice romantic getaway, but this place could also accommodate a large family as well.
We will definitely be returning in the future.
Some friends and I spent 3 nights here at Blackberry Knoll! It was the perfect place for us to spend our weekend with one another. The sunrises were beautiful. It's nice and quiet even though you are down the road from other cabins. Chris made booking the cabin super easy. There are lots of things near and the cabin is close a main road. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice getaway.
Wow!!! The sunrises are just beautiful from this cabins front porch. We were blessed with 5 beautiful sunrises, with each day different from the one before. We couldn't wait to get up to see them. We also stayed during the Blue Moon which was just amazing (there won't be another one till 2018). One morning we were able to capture the sunrise and also see the moon set at the same time. The long range mountain views are just amazing. For us it was impossible to stay off the porch, rocking away the day.
We enjoyed most of our meals at the cabin which was well equipped to cook anything we wanted. The cabin was very spacious and nicely decorated. The king bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. Each evening we soaked in the hot tub with a glass of wine, gazing up at the beautiful stars when the moon wasn't too bright. This is a great cabin to enjoy the mountains and all the fun things to do in the area. We visited Merciers, Cartecay Vineyards, Hardman Farms in the Nacoochee Valley by Helen GA. We did have lunch at Southern Charm in Blue Ridge one day. Very good southern cooking.
Thanks again Chris for opening your cabin to others so that they may share in the many blessings that Blackberry Knoll has to offer.
We have really enjoyed staying in the cabin. Everything was great - the cabin was awesome and cosy, and the views were spectacular. The layout was very convenient - it was my husband and I, our two boys ages 6 and 4, and my parents. We and the boys stayed in the bedrooms upstairs, while my parents stayed in the master suite on the main floor so that they didn't have to deal with climbing stairs. The master suite is very well-equipped with its own jacuzzi tup and separate shower and lots of space in general. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin's very well equipped kitchen - very handy with kids. But our favorite place was certainly the porch which goes along two sides of the cabin, lots of space for everybody to hang out.
Also, an important thing is, the cabin is very conveniently located - close to Blue Ridge (where we went to ride on the train and explore the shops etc.) and at the same time, it's very quiet and off the beaten path there.
In summary, it was a great vacation.
My husband and I went up on Friday and checked out everything and then my daughter, her husband and the grandkids came up on Saturday to join us. The children are young, so we were not sure how they were going to like just hanging out at the cabin...When they first arrived, we showed them the cabin: All the rooms, the pool table/air hookey table, the jacuzzi, the porch with nice comfy rocking chairs, and the hot tub. After the kids had seen these...Carter, the 4 year old, looked at me and said, Granna, what else is cool here? They loved the cabin! We took them on an outing of putt putt golf and fishing; however, they were eager to get back to the cabin to enjoy all the cool things! LOL We played checkers, played uno, air hockey, worked on puzzles, played with blocks, and we all had a great time! Just some old fashioned fun!
We asked the kids later, what their favorite thing was about the trip and they said, "Just hanging out at the cabin was the most fun"! We enjoyed our visit so well that we will be planning another trip soon! The cabin is really loaded with everything you need for whatever you want to do. Great for all ages... Plenty of room and comfort for all!
This was our second visit to Blackberry Knoll, and we definitely plan to return soon. The cabin is everything you could want for a nice, relaxing trip to the mountains. It is clean and very well kept, has a wonderful "welcome home" feeling, and the view is unlike any other. Many rental properties have very carefully selected photos that conveniently leave out the neighbor's rooftop that is within arm's reach of your porch. However, that is not the case here, what you see in these photos is exactly what you get...pure, unobstructed views of the mountains. It is an incredibly quiet location where you feel like you're two hours from civilization, but it is a very short drive to downtown or any of the local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Chris is a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful through the entire process. Thanks again!
