Great room, amazing view, very central location!

  • 5 of 5

I have nothing bad to say about this place at all! I was travelling solo, so it was plenty of size for me. It is a typical hotel-style room, with a king bed that was super comfortable, and the view from the balcony is true to the picture. However, there is another building between this building and the beach, so although it is on the very end of this building (and top floor), there is another building in front of it (to the left when looking out at the beach). Not a big deal as you can still see the ocean, but I was just under the impression that it was truly the last building. The resort itself was beautiful, with multiple large pools and hot tubs, and of course super close to the beach. I was able to roll out of bed and walk to the beach every morning to watch the sunrise:) Note: this is not a swimmable beach due to rough waters, but it is only a 5 minute drive to the closest swimmable beach. The location of the resort was perfect for me, as my main goal for my vacation was to explore the island. Kauai Beach Resort is on the east side, so right in the middle of the North and South shores. Very close to the airport, which was convenient. There was a previous comment that mentioned it was very noisy here, due to the airport being so close, but I did not find that a factor at all. Even so, there are only a few planes a day so it didn't bother me one bit. The main restaurant seemed like it has good food, but I only ate there once (for breakfast), which was fabulous. However, I did bump into some locals who said that they like going there for dinner sometimes, so it must be good! There was nightly entertainment at the bar, with a very causal atmosphere, which was perfect for an evening nightcap. The owner Marybeth was very responsive to any messages. The only real disadvantages to this place is that was a $25 daily parking fee, which is enforced by the resort and not the private owners, and that maid service was an extra fee.

Overall, I highly recommend this place if your goal is to explore the island, or even if it is to just chill and relax for the pool as the resort is beautiful. If you're looking for a place directly on a swimmable beach, you're better off in Poipu. But if you don't mind driving 5-10mins to a beach, there is no issue. I would definitely stay here again. It is worth having the view of the beach, and not a room that overlooks the pool :)

Nice resort but noisy at times

  • 4 of 5

We were a bit disappointed at the beginning by how noisy the area was. The resort is only 10 minutes from the Lihue airport so we heard a lot of airport noise along with Coast Guard C-130s and many (touring?) helicopters flying by. Add with the numerous roosters and the lawn maintenance team and it got quite annoying at times. But we were touring the island a lot so we weren't at the resort much. The room was exactly as the pictures showed. With a corner 3rd floor room we only had one neighbor next to us and nobody above us. We loved the room. The resort pool area is very well laid out and comfortable. Unfortunately, the outside tiki bar closes at 6pm. The main restuarant food was not very good. The main restuarant menu did not provide for much of a selection either. The food was often overcooked. The staff was very friendly but at the service desk I sensed a bit of indifference when they determined we had a private room. Although the room location was excellent we did have a few issues; no tv guide (I spent an hour cycling through the channels to write down our own tv guide), we had ants in the room, the bed sagged, and there is a pretty decorative wooden chair in the room which I attempted to sit on and it started to break! Overall, now that we know what to expect, we would definitely book this room again.

Great location - watch the sunrise from the patio or walk outside to the beach... both are great!

  • 4 of 5

Didn't spend much time in the unit other than to sleep. Everything was fine, although the bed was in pretty sad shape with one side sunken in (yet surprisingly still comfortable). The resort was good overall, at the end of about a 3 mile stretch of beautiful beach with only a few people walking or fishing. Good value for the price, completely satisfied! I would definitely book this place again if I return to Kauai - thank you for making it available to rent.

We love staying at the Kauai Beach Resort. This is our second time and we were not disappointed.

The condo was excellent. Marybeth is the best to work with. She made the stay at her place so easy and pleasant. Just steps to the beach or pool. The entertainment each night is the best.

Can't wait to go back.

Great Central location!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here Jan 25-Feb 2/17. It's 5 mins from the Lihue Airport. The room is your typical hotel room, nothing fancy..but the view is perfect...ocean view. We got up early to watch the sunrise. We basically were there just to sleep as we explored the island during the day. We had breakfast one day in the restaurant and that's it. The grounds, pool and hot tub are very nice. Although you can't swim on the beach, the walk along the beach is beautiful. My favourite places were Hanalei, Waimea Canyon, Napali Coast. Took a helicopter tour..breathtakingly beautiful. Went to Smiths Luau...impressive. Braved the Kipu Adventure ATV your...awesome. So much to do. The resort is on the east side of the island which makes it central to the heading north or south of the island. We brought coffee, filters, cream and sugar...these are only provided in your room on the first day.

This is a newly remodeled hotel very conveniently located on the island to both Hanalei Bay and the canyon. The pool and beach area is very nice.
