ALOHA!!! We live on Oahu and hope you enjoy our home away from home here on our favorite island of Kauai. We love to scuba, sail, swim, hike, and any activity in on or around the ocean. Marybeth is from San Diego and I'm from Dallas. We met in Honolulu and married in 1990. James graduated from the University of North Texas and retired from the Air Force. He now works as a civilian for the Air Force at Hickam Air Force Base. He also enjoys teaching scuba as a PADI instructor. Marybeth is a real estate agent specializing in new condo sales. She is a graduate of University of Hawaii and has traveled the world.
Marybeth purchased this condo in 2006
We fell in love with the Kauaii Beach Resort on our first visit to Kauai. When we had the opportunity to purchase a unit, we jumped onboard. This is still our favorite place to stay and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. There is so much to enjoy and do here whether you want to just kick back and relax or do something totally adventurous.
The room is on the top floor with a direct ocean view and, being the corner suite, it has a wrap around lanai that is unique. It is very private and quiet with a gorgeous ocean view. The location is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Hanging out at the pool bar is one of our favorite things to do and where you can meet the most interesting people. Situated in one of the most convenient locations on Kauai, the Resort is a quick ten minute shuttle ride from the Lihue International Airport and very central to shopping, championship golf, and all of Kauai's great activities, sites, and adventures. The full-service resort offers exceptional personal service, newly renovated accommodations, authentic Hawaiian entertainment, restaurants and bars, spa and fitness amenities, 4 magnificent pools with waterfalls and a Giant Slide, extensive meeting and conference facilities, plus all the additional features that are expected in a luxury hotel. People who come to the Kauai Beach Resort find themselves in a friendly, comfortable environment where they can relax and feel at home after a day of exploring the island. Kauai Beach Resort is an oceanfront resort situated on 12 lushly landscaped acres on Kauai's longest exploring and strolling beach. Surrounded by exotic lagoons, cascading waterfalls and a lush tropical setting, Kauai Beach Resort is considered one of the Island's favorite resorts for vacationers and conference planners worldwide.
This property is very very nice. The grounds are well maintained and the staff is wonderful. The beach is narrow and rocky. You will not be happy with this location if you love sunning and going into the ocean. If you prefer laying by the pool this property is perfect. They are refurbishing all units owned by Kauai Beach Resort, however, this unit is in need of a few repairs. The wall paper is coming away at the seams and needs a couple of comfortable chairs to sit on. The unit is 320 sq. ft. So quite small. There is a small refrigerator and coffee maker. No microwave for your leftovers, but learned at check out there is one on the 5th floor. Wish we had known. Lihue is a great place to be. Central to everything. We will be coming back to this island and Lihue!
We have totally our vacation at this resort. This room has a great view of the morning sunrise...and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai into the evening...listening to the waves crash on the beach.
The resort is very nice and is truly centrally located on the island. We enjoyed all of the small towns during our visit and we loved coming back to our base for a swim and a stroll on the beach.
Very romantic vacation!
This was the last property we stayed at during our honeymoon. The room was very clean and check in and check out went smoothly. It did feel just like an ordinary hotel room so in comparison to some of the other condos we stayed at it wasn't as nice but the grounds were beautiful and the pools and hot tubs on site we really enjoyed! It was very windy at this resort and I'm not sure if it was just the time we were there or if it's like that all the time but not something we were expecting. The beach is nice to walk on (except if the wind is really bad) but it looked a little scary for swimming and we didn't see anyone in the water. Overall it's a nice room and we enjoyed our stay.
However it was very overpriced.. Between the 100 cleaning fee and 25/day parking and just one bed... It would have been cheaper to go directly through hotel and then we would have twin beds and daily room service. Hawaii is over rated, over priced and almost devoid of wild flowers, birds( with exception of chickens), most dented rental cars and full of people tired of tourist. We will not go back. Instead, we will continue to travel elsewhere, especially Costa Rica, for 1/3 the price , wonderful wildflowers, animals , 7 active volcanoes and people who appreciate the economy boost that tourist bring. PS...most people we met felt the same way. I expect this post to be deleted for telling the truth.
We really enjoyed our stay at this unit in KBR and took advantage of the restaurants there so we didn't have to get in our car and go out again. The food was really good and moderately priced. Very pretty grounds. The weather was windy and cool but we did manage to sit and sip our drinks by the pools and the lit tiki torches added a nice touch. We went for walks on the beach, but the beach directly in front collects debri from the ocean so you need to keep walking further left or right until clean. The trash was disappointing to see but I think it is just how the current flows and washes it in. Beautiful views however, especially from this unit as you have a nice side view as well. We spent a lot of time on the balcony. Sunrises were spectacular! The room was very clean, carpet a bit older but again, the view was unbeatable. The bed was comfortable. We ran out of bath towels and there is an extra charge for more. The staff were all very friendly. A very nice place to stay especially if you want a resort experience that is smaller and more casual than some of the really high-end type without breaking the bank. We would stay here again!
We loved our stay at this condo! From the beginning Marybeth was wonderful to work with and addressed any needs we had. The room was perfect with a beautiful view. It felt very private and was extremely quiet. I loved listening to the waves from the room and being able to see them from the room. The resort was gorgeous-we loved all the landscaping around the pools. Since we were usually out touring during the day we mostly used the pools and jacuzzi in the evenings and had them almost completely to ourselves. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We loved walking around the resort in the evenings or taking a stroll on the beach. The sunrises were beautiful and a fun way to start the day. We loved the macadamia nut/coconut syrup pancakes from the room service menu. We also decided to try out the spa and had the best massages we have ever had. We never had a problem finding convenient parking at the end of the day. The location is great if you want to explore the entire island. You are a half hour to Poipu or Koloa town, an hour from Ke'e beach in the north, or an hour and a half from Waimea Canyon/Kalalau lookout. You can do it all without any of the drive times being too long! This resort is close to Costco and Walmart (a plus for stocking up on things you may need), close to the airport, an ABC store and some local restaurants. We had the vacation of a lifetime and this room and resort were wonderful. Mahalo Marybeth, we would love to come again someday! Aloha!!!
