Marybeth purchased this condo in 2006
We fell in love with the Kauaii Beach Resort on our first visit to Kauai. When we had the opportunity to purchase a unit, we jumped onboard. This is still our favorite place to stay and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. There is so much to enjoy and do here whether you want to just kick back and relax or do something totally adventurous.
The room is on the top floor with a direct ocean view and, being the corner suite, it has a wrap around lanai that is unique. It is very private and quiet with a gorgeous ocean view. The location is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Hanging out at the pool bar is one of our favorite things to do and where you can meet the most interesting people. Situated in one of the most convenient locations on Kauai, the Resort is a quick ten minute shuttle ride from the Lihue International Airport and very central to shopping, championship golf, and all of Kauai's great activities, sites, and adventures. The full-service resort offers exceptional personal service, newly renovated accommodations, authentic Hawaiian entertainment, restaurants and bars, spa and fitness amenities, 4 magnificent pools with waterfalls and a Giant Slide, extensive meeting and conference facilities, plus all the additional features that are expected in a luxury hotel. People who come to the Kauai Beach Resort find themselves in a friendly, comfortable environment where they can relax and feel at home after a day of exploring the island. Kauai Beach Resort is an oceanfront resort situated on 12 lushly landscaped acres on Kauai's longest exploring and strolling beach. Surrounded by exotic lagoons, cascading waterfalls and a lush tropical setting, Kauai Beach Resort is considered one of the Island's favorite resorts for vacationers and conference planners worldwide.
This vacation rental was superb. Neat, clean, and tidy. AND, very close to the beach. You can hear the waves all day and all night. Very soothing. Air conditioning was excellent. The owner was very pleasant and easy to deal with. The property management was quick and professional to our every need. Note: Make sure you understand the housekeeping agreement. We will definitely be returning to this rental!
My husband & I spent four relaxing days here. The resort has a great staff and its location is perfect for getting around the island. The condo is on the back side so it's very quiet with a great view. Be prepared for the morning wake up call with the roosters! They are beautiful along with all of the other birds.
The air conditioner was not working and the screen on the door was broken, but my husband was able to fix the screen. We would come back as we were able to see the whole island and this was the quietest area.
We loved this room! The sunrises are beautiful! We will definitely return here on our next trip to Kauai!
My husband and I have stayed at this resort twice - different rooms each time. We will never try to find a different room after staying in this one! Yes, as the previous review mentions, there IS one more building between you and the ocean, but it's to the left of your view. My husband and I both thought we had the better deal than the front building, because the area in front of our lanai was quiet and rarely traveled, whereas the front lanais always had people walking or hanging out in front. You have a HUGE ocean view, and unlike the front units, you also have the view of the mountains and a large government land field. It's beautiful. Sunrises were amazing.
The parking fees in this resort get you, so be prepared. The resort is centrally located to everything on the island, so no matter where you go, it's not too long of a drive. It is by the airport, yes - but each time we stayed here we only saw or heard 2 -3 planes our whole trip. (We stayed 12 days each time.) The pools are lovely, and the hot tubs were never crowded (there's 2 just in case one is busier) but for some reason this trip they didn't heat the regular pools. They had in our previous trip. Maybe it was broken and they were waiting for a part? It was downright chilly! Yet, if you're tough, it's swimmable. :)
The beach immediately in front isn't swimmable, but a quick 3 minute walk to the left of the front of the resort down the beach and we had our own basically private, extremely swimmable beach - just be sure to watch the waves and find the right spot. :)
Happy hour at the bar is good, and the coffee shop within the souvenir shop makes decent coffee. :) Don't go buy a boogie board - they have ones there you can borrow.
The room shape - the wallpaper has started to peel off the walls, but who the heck cares. The bed was comfy enough, and the room was clean. A great deal, we think, for the price!
We will be back!
My first impression was that the resort, though nice, was isolated, with very little activity surrounding it. The resort is a little quiet because of its location, but turned out to be centrally located on the island and allowed us to travel around easily. The property is well maintained with several pools and hot tubs. There is a beach, but to walk on only; it is too rocky to use. The room is on the back side of the building on the corner. It is quiet and looks over the ocean, which is good if you want quiet. A room - with a balcony - that looks over the resort would have been nice to feel like you were at a resort. The room was nice. Coming from a timeshare on Maui that had a full kitchen and washer/dryer, the room felt a little small and lacking. We used other resorts, like the Marriott in Lihue, for a beach and other restaurants.
We feel that we got a great deal compared to the other folks staying at the resort. Our room was less expensive but just as amazing. It's fun to hang out at the resort, but it's also close by a lot of other things, and many activities will pick you up from the hotel.
