About the host
Hosted by Monika Seckinger
We are John and Monika, welcome to our place! Monika is Colombian/German, John is American, grew up in Florida, we both went to universities in California and lived there after graduating. Our three children were all born in Long Beach California.
We enjoy boating, fishing, diving and traveling, we have lived and worked overseas for over 20 years, we understand and appreciate the many different cultures we have visited and lived with. We have been hosting for years and are focused on our guests experience, making sure you have the best visit possible. We will not "pester" you or "insert" ourselves into your vacation or visit, however we are available (in person or via chat) for any questions or needs you may have. We focus on making sure your needs are met while letting you have your space.
Best regards John And Monika

Why they chose this property
We bought this duplex over 20 years ago just before we moved overseas . Our place is located in the Latin American "melting pot" of Allapattah. The name “Allapattah” comes from an indigenous word for “Alligator”, this area was originally mostly swamp land and was named by the natives who first settled the area.
Everything you could ever want to do to experience authentic Miami life is here. The area can also known as “Little Central America”, like “Little Havana” it is an immigrant based community evidenced by the Guatemalan, Belizean, Salvadorian, Honduran, Nicaraguan, Costa Rican, and Panamanian restaurants and cultures that make up this local community. Chickens are a common sight and on holidays, as well as Fridays and Saturday nights, the Latino sounds of music and celebration can be heard.

What makes this property unique
We are close enough to Miami to see the tall buildings without having them towering above us. We are centrally located between the Miami airport to the West, Little Havanah and highway 836 (Dolphin Expressway) to the South, to the East we have I 95, then, Wynwood, the Miami Bay, Miami Beach and the Ocean. To the North sits the "Earlington Heights" Metro rail station, and highway 112 Highway 112 going East connects to I 95 or Miami Beach, and going West, the Miami Airport.
