About Steven Minning

Originally from the Midwest - a New Yorker of 30 years!

Steven Minning purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Steven Minning chose Poconos

The proximity to New York is so convenient and easy to get to. The property feels so private - you feel as though you are in the middle of the country, yet you are only a 10 minute walk into the middle of the town of Milford PA. The community is quaint, with good shops, good dining and minimum amount of tourists. Go the Milford Diner for some pancakes in morning and hob-nob with the locals. The area has all the amenities to go out or stay at home!

What makes this cottage unique

A very open space - yet a very cozy and warm space complete w/ a working fireplace. The open space includes an open staircase with no railing that leads up to the sleeping loft. The staircase is solid and sturdy, but has no hand rail.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cottage was unbelievable !! So serene and peaceful.

We took lots of pics and will forward those to you soon

We made use of the barbecue grill, kitchen and all utensils.

You have done a wonderful job of decorating and had all the essentials plus more!

We have stayed in dozens of homes and cottages throughout the years and

I said to my girlfriend(Jacqui) this is by far the best place we stayed.

It is a perfect getaway, fairly close, reasonably priced, perfect size, beautiful brook,

intense scenery i could go on and on. Steven you really did a nice job, we really enjoyed our stay

And thanks for your great communication, it is greatly appreciated.

We wish you the best of luck and we look forward to visiting again soon.

great lil to brook...

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this comfy cotage in May. Pictures very accurate, owner got back to us promptly. On the back patio is a charcoal grill, and furniture to cozy up to the brook. Unfortunately, weather was rainy, not conducive to horseback riding or hiking, so I guess we will just have to go back!? We did get some hiking in at Dingman's Falls, enjoyed dinner-to-go at Fretta's Italian Food, and enjoyed the fireplace. Next time we will also look into bikes as there are lots of trails. Picked up a Delaware Water Gap trail map for a return visit. Just a great place to getaway.

Perfect seclusion

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and honeymoon and it was exactly what we were looking for. The property is nestled deep in the woods and all you can hear is the brook behind the home. Our dog came with us and I think he still dreams of the time we stayed there. It's minutes from the small town which has everything you need. We will certainly be coming back to this home. Thank you for sharing with us!

Our romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

A few years ago, I came across this property quite by accident while looking for a beach rental. How, I don't know, but it must have been destiny! On a whim, I booked a weekend with my husband, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This year, my husband celebrated a milestone birthday. As we came closer to the big day, I asked him what he wanted most. He said, without hesitation, "I would love to go back to the cottage in Milford." And so we did.

This little hideaway will forever be one of our favorite places. I could feel my stress level going down the moment I pulled into the driveway, and it was all but gone when I turned the key in the front door lock and stepped inside. It was as much a gift to me as it was to him! It is unbelievable how much perfection you can fit in so few square feet.

Let me also add for the uninitiated how wonderful an area Milford is for a getaway. Quaint shopping, antiquing, a variety of eateries, historical and scenic sites, and honestly, the friendliest folks you ever want to meet. If you're an outdoorsy type who isn't afraid of a steep path (eventually), hike the Milford Knob trail and see the town from above. What a magnificent, peaceful place to spend time.

I could go on (some might argue that I already have), but I just can't say enough good things about Milford, this cottage, or its wonderful, helpful owner, Steven. One of these days, hopefully I will have time and freedom enough to enjoy this great little place for longer than a weekend. If you have that opportunity now, I can't recommend it enough. Enjoy!

Medicinal and Theraputic

  • 5 of 5

The sounds of the trickling waters from the brook, the crackling burning embers in the fireplace, the secluded charming cottage is just what our souls needed. My sister and I had an amazing time. The cottage offers every amenity needed for our getaway. The personal touches and fully equipped kitchen made me feel like I was home.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home.
