Just a stone's throw to the plaza, a licensed one-bedroom vacation rental suite is tucked behind one of Ashland's charming craftsman-style bungalows. Your private gated entrance, located behind the house, opens onto a peaceful garden and quaint patio - a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee and the newspaper, or a glass of wine in the evening. In the summer and fall, help yourself to the ripe tomatoes, fresh herbs and fruit growing in the garden. The owner has lovingly created a sanctuary-like space within the town's premier historic district. Step back in time and enjoy a quiet retreat away from TVs and phones. (A wireless connection is available for your laptop should you wish.)
Your separate, attached one-bedroom retreat awaits and features fine linens, cozy robes, a private bath and a fully-stocked kitchenette including organic tea, coffee, cream and sugar. Step inside: a cool, restful palette adorns a tastefully furnished room that includes period pieces such as an arts-and-crafts style armoire. You'll find a quiet, comfortable bedroom that overlooks an enchanted, fragrant flower garden. This inviting space features wood and tile floors, a ceiling fan, a silent A/C and heating unit, wall and space heaters, and plenty of windows so that you can take advantage of the abundant natural light and fresh mountain air. The bungalow is kept exceptionally clean using homemade, environmentally-friendly cleaners and a HEPA air purifier. Sorry, no smoking or pets.
The on-site owner has been a resident of Ashland for the past nineteen years. Your privacy is my utmost priority. If desired, I would be happy to guide you nearby hiking and biking trails, farmer's markets, wineries, hot springs and locally-grown organic food. I am also happy to supply you with anything you need during your stay.
Ashland highlights such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, Cabaret Theater, downtown plaza, restaurants, shops, and movie theaters are all within a lovely 10 - 15 minute walk. You'll stroll through a level, shaded historic neighborhood and cross a bridge over the gentle waters of Ashland Creek on your way there!
To maximize your privacy, cleaning services are not included as part of your stay. Fresh linens will be provided to those guests staying one week or longer. The Stone's Throw Bungalow is an eco-friendly establishment. We encourage walking, biking, carpooling, bus riding, conservation, recycling and other practices that lessen your impact on the earth during your stay.

We enjoyed a great fall weekend in Ashland. Thank you for providing a great home - very comfortable and convenient. Thank you.
We love the Stone's Throw bungalow and have enjoyed it for the last few years when we attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Karin is wonderful to work with and has done some creative updates to the bungalow. It's also a friendly neighborhood for us to do our daily walks, including the very walkable distance to downtown and the theatres. We will be back! Thank you, Karin!
This tucked-away gem - truly a mere hop-skip from Ashland's delightful hub - is a marvel of elegance, comfort, and ingenious efficiency. It is a perfect marriage of new, natural, and vintage. Karin is easy and gracious, fully at-your-service and entirely unobtrusive. Touches we loved: quiet and cared-for neighborhood; tiny triangular window in the garden gate; entry of our own (door painted yellow curry!) slate in kitchen/bath, polished old-growth fir in sitting/bedroom; calming neutral palette; original windows (that open!); ample light/lighting; expansive-yet-enfolding views (blue-grey hills, green/floral garden); cushy-firm-luxury bed/bedding; tiled shower; fluffy-generous towels. Altogether we got all we hoped for and hope to land here again!
Had a wonderful time at the Stone's Throw Bungalow recently. The accommodations are top notch with all possible items you would need in this one bedroom, kitchenette and bath vacation home. Karin is a delightful hostess, greeting you upon arrival with a smile and helpful suggestions for enjoying Ashland.
The decor of the Bungalow is sharp and everything you need is right there. Karin has thought of it all! The garden yard is welcoming with a fire pit to enjoy a cozy fire.
A wonderful place to stay, I am going back!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the “Stone’s Throw Bungalow.” We went through the back gate into a lovely garden area and up the steps to the apartment. Later, in our stay, we sat on the back steps in the sun, enjoying the colorful fall foliage. We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs and the minute I walked in, I knew that we had made a good choice. Even though the space was not huge, the way Karen arranged and decorated it made it feel just the right size. (I left with some design ideas for my own home.) Karen had thought of everything we could possibly need and we were very comfortable. She also offered us the use of bicycles but we opted to walk the Greenway, instead. I'm known for being particular and I was very satisfied.
This cottage is quiet, restful, and lovely. Recently remodeled and decorated, it's cozy and efficient and has everything you need for a getaway to Ashland. Walk to downtown or stick around and sip wine in the peaceful garden--we appreciated the comfortable Adirondack chairs and firepit.
Our host, Karin, met us--even when we arrived early-- and made sure we had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. She has been a pleasure to deal with. We'll be back!
Karin was truly a hostess. The room was warm and welcoming. She put out wood for a fire pit outside after we returned from a show at OSF that night. However, we were not able to enjoy the outdoors that night, but we were provided a night full of stars. You have to stay to discover Karin's thoughtfulness providing a serene place to lay ones head. It's a rather exciting surprise.
Kudos to you Karin.
