Access to Lake Michigan, Buchanan Beach is just 200 yards and no stairs to the most beautiful stretch of sugary sand beach that Michigan has to offer. Stroll along the beach, soak up the beautiful sunsets, enjoy campfires around the fire pit, and sit back in the comfy Adirondack furniture or a nap in the hammock all on the large, private, beautiful, wooded lot. Swimming, boating, biking, walking, shopping, beaching, golfing, great restaurants - just to name a few of the activities.

We have bikes on site available for rent with more than 25 miles of paved scenic bike trails access at the corner connecting Spring Lake, Grand Haven and Holland. A swing and play set in the backyard. The public boat launch at Pigeon Lake is less than a one mile from the cottage as well as ample parking for your Jet Ski or small boat. Near by Grand Haven Golf Club which holds a ranking among the top 1% of courses in the Nation to enjoy.

Family Vacation 2016

  • 5 of 5

Painted Sky was a perfect cottage for our whole family (6 adults, 3 small boys). Very clean, cute decor, and wonderfully filled with everything you need. They go above and beyond with beach towels, sand toys, Tonka trucks, bikes, play gym, towels, outdoor furniture, and plenty of supplies. It is close to many of the fun activities if you wanted to venture beyond the beach and cottage. We would highly recommend it and hope to come back. The owners were great to correspond with and prompt.

Wonderful vacation cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect vacation home! It is very clean and well-maintained. Everything you need is provided by the home owners...well stocked kitchen, beach towels and toys, laundry detergent, paper towels, etc. It even has a ping pong table, legos and swings for kids. It is on a wooded lot and feels very secluded. The location is excellent, a very short walk to the beach or to the paved biking trail. Close to Grand Haven beaches, shops, restaurants, activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Painted Sky Cottage and hope to return again next summer!

Fantastic find!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the week with a 1.5 yo and 3.5 yo and this house had something to keep everyone entertained! So many amenities for kids- Lego table, ping pong, swing set, beach toys and a tball tee--my son was in heaven! Adults enjoyed the hammock and fire pit. We rented the bikes and enjoyed rides to Rosy Mound park and into Grand Haven for the day.

The house is incredibly clean and quaint. The owners were great to correspond with and very prompt in replying to emails.

We typically like to explore new towns for summer vacations but our experience at Painted Sky would have us strongly considering a return trip! My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Winter Rental Success!!!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a home for the winter while we began the building process in Grand Haven. We LOVED our stay here! Clean, fully equipped...a LOT of fun playing ping pong, too! Theresa and Jane were great "landlords!" We would highly recommend considering the home for a winter rental. We enjoyed many walks on the beach...so close by!!

Family Vacation 2015

  • 4 of 5

Painted Sky Cottage was a good find. The cottage was very nice and accommodated our family perfectly. We really enjoyed the mornings sitting outside on the front porch and the fire pit at night. It was an easy walk to the water and we loved the sandy beach and walks.
