About Cheri Vos
We are a family of four, and live in Santa Cruz. We love Santa Cruz, and we also love the Sierra Nevada. We have owned this house and have been part of the Camp Nelson community for many years, as I have been coming here since I was a small child. We like being able to share our Camp Nelson home with other people when we are not able to be there.
Cheri Vos purchased this Cabin in 1996
Why Cheri Vos chose Camp Nelson
We bought this house because we enjoy Camp Nelson so much. I love giant sequoias, and there are more groves in this area than anywhere else I have found.
What makes this Cabin unique
I love sitting on the deck watching the evening light play on the mountain, walking to the river to enjoy the sound and sight of the water, the rocks, the birds and the fish, hiking near green meadows and seeing views of high peaks, and much more.

As soon as we walked in the door, my husband and I noticed how nice and clean everything was. Besides all the convenient amenities, we appreciated the rustic charm of the cabin, making it our temporary home for the week. Cheri (the property manager) made us feel welcome, while respecting our space and privacy. We enjoyed hiking the maze of winding roads and trails, taking in the beautiful scenery: trees, flowers, horses in the pasture. I highly recommend this cabin (spacious, lovely, and comfortable). Our dog enjoyed it too (woof)!
Would not stay again
Nice home and good location but very disappointed in how dirty it was. It was very dusty, had cob webs everywhere (there was one even in the shower). We also spotted mouse droppings in the window seals and the laundry room. I really don't understand why they charge a cleaning fee if they don't clean the house. They also advertise horse back riding and fishing as one of the fun activities to do near by, but the manager at the local store said there hasn't been any horseback riding in Camp Nelson for about two years. He also said there are no fish in the nearby stream. Very disappointing weekend, a waste of money.
Wonderful Mountain Home
Stayed here during the fourth of July weekend in 2015. We really enjoyed the home, the clean air, peace and quiet were so refreshing. Had two deer wander up out front the evening of the fourth which was a treat. Very comfortable and homey.
Great for family gathering
Huge family room with lots of space for family members to gather. Very clean. Very "homey" feeling.
Rest & relaxation from the hustle & bustle of the city.
