About the property

Romantic Retreat & Also Perfect for Small Families

Perfect getaway for couples or small families. Lots or candles, music, and teddy bears! Beautiful view of constantly changing Lake Tahoe from the second-floor deck off the bedroom. Massive, granite stone fireplace to snuggle up in front of. Built in 2000 and furnished with comfortable, upscale amenities. Full kitchen for preparing meals. WIFI, DVD Player, Bose SoundDock.

Walk over to the Sunnyside Resort and Lodge to enjoy their lively bar and deck menu, or enjoy the Chris Craft dining room. Rent a boat or jet skis at the Sunnyside Marina. Ski or Snowboard Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, or my favorite: Homewood Ski Resort. Hop on the bike path headed north or south. Lots of information on suggested and favorite Hikes and Outings, as well as restaurant menus in the Cabin.

Our weekend Honeymoon in Sunnyside.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was easy to find and in a convenient to find. It is very cute inside and very clean and neat. The fireplace was very toasty and comfortable. The bed upstairs was extremely comfortable after driving all day. The location is perfect to reach all destinations in the Tahoe area. All the people in Tahoe City were very nice and the coffee shop down the street, Tahoe House coffee shop was excellent for morning expresson. The Fire Sign Cafe was a great place for breakfast. I reccommend the Peacan waffles with the Blue-raspberry sauce, mmmmm! We will definitely come back. A great little place.

Cozy comfort on the West Shore

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for 3 nights over New Year's and loved the place so much. Very convenient to Squaw/Alpine or Homewood for the slopes or within a stone's throw of the Lake for water fun, it was perfect for just my wife and I with plenty of room to spread out and nice amenities throughout which made it feel like 'home' for the long weekend. Perfect small kitchen, fully functional with nice cookware, dishes and appliances but just be prepared to bring/buy all your cooking ingredients other than S&P. We did a quick walk down the road to the West Shore Market & Deli for everything we needed for meals. 1.5 baths were super convenient up/down stairs and both are nicely appointed. The fireplace kept the place as toasty as you like it while helping our gear dry out next to the big stone hearth.

Before we booked we saw some complaints on road noise, but we live on a busy street at home so not a big deal for us, but they do start plowing early so use the offered ear plugs if you are a light sleeper! Only complaint we had is hardly worth mentioning, but the WiFi was pretty spotty so don't count on it for any work or video streaming, not sure if that is just the level of service in the Tahoe area or if the web equipment needed an upgrade or reset.

We would definitely consider staying here again next trip to Tahoe, it really was perfect for us!

Owner's Response: Thank You Rob! I hope you do come back... always 15% off for returning Guests. The WIFI in Tahoe is 'spotty' when there are alot of people in the area: big weekends like New Years. Most of the time, all things considered for a mountain area with not alot of full time residents, we find the internet to be pretty good. I test upload and download speeds on occasion.

CLEAN & comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Conveniently located just across the street from the lake. This is the cleanest & most tidy dwelling I've ever stayed! It is perfect for 1 couple or 1 couple & a child. The bed & linens were top notch including the pillows & having a washer & dryer right there was very convenient. All the special touches made it truly a home away from home. Allison was very accommodating & the neighbor John was very friendly & helpful. Will stay again.

Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cabin for a 2 week ski vacation and were thrilled with it from the moment we arrived. We have stayed in many cabins on numerous motorcycle vacations and while all have been very nice, I have to say this cabin tops them all. Not only is it very tastefully furnished, but the quality of everything - down to the measuring spoons - and the attention to details that make a stay completely comfortable were all covered.

As other reviews have mentioned, the owner responds very quickly to all communications, the property manager was never needed, but did stop by to make sure all was OK, the location is great. The security deposit was refunded immediately - much faster than our other VBRO stays.

We go where the snow is, and it is our hope that Lake Tahoe will have another good snow year soon. When it does, we will definitely book this cabin again if it is available.

Very pleased. Will continue to stay here

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is half of a duplex, and the manager lives next door. We didn't need him, but he came by to make sure he had everything we needed, and his phone number was on a welcome note in the house. The owner is also readily available by phone or email and super helpful in planning.

The cabin is very clean. Both the queen bed and the pull-out are comfortable. Overall, it's just a very inviting, warm, and enjoyable place to be on a winter weekend!!

Perfect ski cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin is a gem! Room enough for 3 adults. Clean, organized, nicely decorated and supplied with everything you need.

Bed upstairs and fold out couch in living room very comfortable. Gas fireplace charming and heats entire house. Owner and onsite manager couldn't have ben more helpful. Well located across the street from Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge and in walking distance to Westshore Market and Fire Sign Cafe. We skied Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, both and easy 20 minute drive away. Homewood Ski area just down the road. Perfect for a weekend getaway!
