Guestbook comments from the owner

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your cabin. The view is beautiful! Both you and the cabin layout were very accommodating. Over the past fifteen years of visiting the Murphy area we never get tired of the many "day trips" to surrounding areas. During our stay we met a couple of your friendly neighbors who provided some helpful current information and insight. We look forward to vacationing at your cabin again when the time presents itself.

Incredible views!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is in a great location - close to town but on a ridge with exceptional views! It was very clean upon arrival and the kitchen is well stocked. There are cabins close on both sides but it was very quiet while we were there. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view, the birds, and hearing turkeys in the surrounding woods. Great overall value.

Wonderful Week Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I have been visiting western NC for many years. We had only been to the Murphy area twice before visiting family and friends and this was the first "winter" visit. My wife discovered this Windy Ridge cabin while researching the area.

We went to check the place out in September and instantly decided that we would rent it for Christmas week. We were not disappointed. The cabin was clean and well-furnished. The view toward the north was spectacular. We would definitely stay there again. Our only disappointment during the week stay was that we didn't get to see any snow which we really wanted to experience.

Wonderful Cabin from a repeat renter

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this gem and it won't be our last. The cabin is comfortable, well stocked and immaculate. The furnishings and supplies are very nice and not some ones cast-offs. There were nice towels and good pillows. The fireplace was an appreciated luxury on the cold nights. We have been to the Murphy area many times and this is by far the nicest place we have stayed. We were there the first week of Jan. and had about 4 inches of snow. Now that was beautiful for us Floridians!

Nice View from Back Deck

  • 4 of 5

The Chalet was a little smaller than we expected. However, it was just right for my wife and myself. The view was nice from the back deck. The main bedroom was upstairs in a loft and stayed hot, while the main floor was comfortable. The loft upstairs at night got so hot we had to open the windows to cool off. Also, while not a huge deal, we did have to haul all the trash off ourselves & wash the towels when we left. It was a very peaceful place to stay & just get away. We ate at an amazing Cuban/ Puerto Rican restaurant called Nani's Restaurant in Blairsville.

Owner's Response: In the winter with the heat on in addition to the warm and toasty fireplace it can get warm in the loft in but that is easily solved by turning the heat and fireplace down. Our chalet is in a small, rural town and a small it's very common for people to haul their trash to the several dumpster sites in the area. We provide a map of where each is located. None of them are that far away plus there are at least three places you can take it to the dumpster sites in your travels. Our chalet is large enough for us and our family but not huge, it's a chalet for vacation rentals not meant for large gatherings. We do ask that guests start a load of towels ini the washer to facilitate the housekeeper's time in getting the chalet ready for the next guests. Amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in November 2016. The cabin was clean and the views were amazing. Everything we needed was there, Judy and Mike left messages around for us so we could work the TV, fireplace, and more. We didn't stay at the cabin much during the day as we went hiking and exploring every day. When you wake up and stare out the windows from the master bedroom, you won't want to get out of bed. The directions to the cabin were great! Thank you for letting us stay here, we had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

A great vacation/get-a-way spot.

  • 4 of 5

Windy Ridge Chalet is everything as advertised. It is clean, comfortable and well maintained. It has a great location close to the old towns of Murphy, NC and Blue Ridge, GA. which has great shops and restaurants. The Chalet sits on the edge of a mountain ridge with spectacular views. It's quiet and relaxing, a great place to stay.
