You will feel so much 'at home' in our beautiful Petite Maison, on the easily accessible ground floor of a lovely 17th century building, situated in one of Paris' most charming neighborhoods. Our little 'quartier' is featured in Frommer's 'Memorable Walks in Paris;' it is truly one of the most historic, lovingly preserved areas in the entire city.
Our historic two-bedroom, two-bath 820 s.f. pied a terre is tucked away on a serene side street; you'll awaken to the sounds of birds chirping in our private garden, along with the bells of the magnificent cathedral of Notre Dame, which appears like magic when you turn out of our front door.
Our 'little house' in the city (so-named by some Parisian friends) is just steps from the bouquinistes (booksellers) which line the Seine, and a five minute walk to the famous Place St. Michel and the excitement of the Latin Quarter. Within minutes you can see the Sorbonne, the Roman baths and Unicorn Tapestries at the Cluny Museum, take a quick stroll to Ile St. Louis, visit the Conciergerie where Marie Antoinette spent her waning days, or take in a fabulous classical concert at the famous St. Chappelle built by Louis the IX.
Our lovely neighborhood is very French, a rarified historic district filled with galleries, artisans, restaurants and unique shops. The wonderful open air market on Place Maubert is a three-minute walk, as is the Metro and a plethora of bakeries, wine purveyors and a fabulous cheese shop.
The apartment itself is exceedingly comfortable and handsomely furnished. It features two quiet bedrooms (one upstairs, and one down), each with a tres chic new en suite bathroom -- perfect for two couples or a family. Both can be made up with two twins, or one king sized bed. A comfortable day bed in the living room accommodates a fifth guest. The spacious living room is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends and recount the day's adventures.
The recently renovated, gorgeous kitchen equipped with high end European appliances is fully equipped to whip up some French cuisine using your finds from the market at Place Maubert. Petite Maison's unique architectural features include classic 'tommettes' (old tiles) on the floor and a barrel vaulted brick ceiling in the living room. A striking iron chandelier illuminates the large dining table, where you can spread out your repast, and bask in the light from two walls of windows. We are also blessed with a private garden, a lovely place to enjoy a morning coffee during the warm summer months, and a working fireplace to keep you cozy on winter nights.
Our Paris based American manager is just a phone call away should an unexpected problem arise. He is also available to assist with restaurant, event or tour reservations, as well as to arrange transportation. A personalized 'users guide' filled with our personal recommendations will help make the most of your sojourn in our favorite city in the world. A DVD with French themed movies; a CD player with music library and travel guides are also on hand should you decide to enjoy a quiet evening 'chez nous.'
The nightly rate for up to five guests is $450; WE HAVE HAD A LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION AND ARE OFFERING A REDUCED RATE OF $350 USD (25% OFF) FOR OPEN DATES IN SEPTEMBER 2016. IMPORTANT: Please note that our cancellation policy is 90 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF OCCUPANCY - VRBO/HomeAway doesn't allow this option in their system, but in our experience, since European travelers normally plan/book their vacations far in advance, this period of time is required in order to rebook our rental. Your 50% deposit (required to reserve dates) is fully refundable up to 90 days before the date you arrive; once the balance is paid the reservation is non-refundable. We will process any deposit refunds outside of the VRBO system.
If you are looking for lovely, comfortable and quiet accommodations just steps away from all the best Paris has to offer, look no further than Petite Maison.
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Petite Maison. The apartment is very clean, has high quality linens, comfortable beds, and is well organized. Every thing you need for your stay is just a few blocks away. Think cheese and baguettes!! The apartment is close to the metro and there is also a taxi stand nearby making it easy to get around the city. Michelle was easy to work with and replied quickly to my emails. Overall, it is a fabulous apartment and I highly recommend it.
La Petite Maison is exactly that, a comfy, cozy home-away-from-home in a perfect location in Paris. The owner is very responsive & helpful, and every possible detail has been thought of, including those bathrobes and slippers that appear in the fanciest hotels. There are 2 "true" bedrooms, not just a sleeper sofa in the living room, and each has a beautifully renovated bathroom. Not only is the location right across the river from Notre Dame, but, in the other direction is a square with a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker. No, not really, but there is a butcher, a baker, a fish monger, a cheese store, a wine store & an all-purpose grocery store. I highly recommend this apartment, and wish I owned it!
We were two couples looking for comfort, an authentic Paris experience, and a large enough space to get comfortable, do a little cooking, and relax. Petite Maison was perfection. I will never forget hearing the bells of Notre Dame every day and especially, walking out the front door and seeing the cathedral itself across the Seine. It was truly a sight to behold.
We were steps away from the Latin Quarter and wonderful neighborhood markets with meats, wines, cheeses, baked goods. We were tucked away in a quiet, charming building but a two minute walk away from all the action! had dreamed of going to Paris all my life and searched VRBO for months before choose Petite Maison. If we ever have the chance to go again with another couple, we will stay here again - no question. Yes, the apartment is small but that's Paris and it was perfect for four adults. I could have stayed a month and been content.
Wonderful place. Everything as described and more. Hope to be back soon!
This place was really perfect; we enjoyed every minute of our stay! A 5 minute walk to beautiful shops; a patisserie, the best fresh fish, meat, cheese & of course wine! Hearing the beautiful bells of Notre Dame just added to the overall Paris experience. I've been to Paris many times but I can say, this was among the best ever! Made fabulous meals in the modern, updated kitchen, & enjoyed the fantastic restaurant literally right next door! I highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return!
We enjoyed our stay at Petite Maison. There was plenty of room for two couples. The bedrooms and bathrooms, although a bit petite, were very well appointed. Having a large kitchen and washer and dryer was a big plus. The neighborhood was lovely and very convenient to shops and cafes. Our only issue was that the book of instructions and suggestions was missing. There was a lot of guessing on how to use everything. We were very happy with our stay and would not hesitate recommending this rental.

Please note: We have a 90-day cancellation policy (50% is due at time of booking to reserve, which is fully refundable up to 90-days prior to occupancy). The balance is due at the 90-mark and at that time the reservation becomes non-refundable unless we can successfully rebook your dates. With a European property it is extremely difficult to rebook a cancelled reservation with less notice, we thank you for your understanding. Please ignore any conflicting messages from VRBO/HomeAway.
