Royal View "Secret Princess" Princeville Studio
Trip Advisor Guest Comment "We stayed at the Hale Moi condos in Princeville, specifically unit #213. Excellent value, and beautiful accomodations. The units (sides A+B) have been professionally decorated and provide great amenities. (Snorkle gear, boogie boards, tons of local info) The unit (213) is owned/managed by a local woman that lives in Kapaa. The website is www.kauaicalls.com. If you go through (other agency), you will probably pay a ton more, for a more run down unit. My advice is to rent from the above mentioned site." JM

This was our first trip to Kauai and this studio was our second place we stayed. Although the view from our porch was beautiful as well as the surrounding area the description of this studio was misleading so we were a little disappointed when we arrived. Let's start with the PROS: Beautiful location, great view from lanai and close to many beautiful beaches and hikes near the Napali Coast. Host was helpful to meet some our request to try to make our stay more comfortable and was easy to contact. Affordable price. Mini fridge is small but deep. Hotel like toiletries. CONS: No STOVE as in description and no kitchen sink so dish washing is in the bathroom. It is possible to cook a meal using the hot plate or BBQ but it's similar to camping w/electricity. You cannot use the Makai Resort pool or fitness center, it is membership only now. No A/C but there are fans. NOTE: This area of the island is more humid and wet so be prepared for more bugs/mosquito...if you haven't been to Hawaii before. So I would say this studio is good for people on a budget you don't mind the above cons. But, I'm not sure I would stay here again because of the kitchen situation and lack of A/C.
We enjoyed our stay in Secret Studio. The apartment is fully equiped and very convenient. Very good location to enjoy the north coast of Kauai. We recommend!
A "condo" should be better equipped (dishes, microwave, little oven, coffeemaker don't do it), we missed a place for dishwashing, a water-kettle for tea-brewing, a stove for prepare a bit of food. You can warm up something, but cook nothing. The worst thing was a constant noise all the night long, probably from a ceiling fan in a neighboring flat.
The garden view and the sunset nearby are beath-taking.
The room was so clean (not stuffy at all) and had scuba gear and boogie boards. It's within walking distance to the beach and overlooks a huge forest with cockadoodledooing roosters every morning. There are hammock holders on the balcony, so bring a hammock if you have one! Candace was great too. She brought us coffee filters and sent a belt we left behind. It was kind of hilarious because everyone we knew stayed at the St. Regis for a wedding and they were so mad when they saw our place because it was so charming and basically free when their rooms were $800/night. Plus, it was right next to the St. Regis!!
We loved our stay at the Secret Studio. It was the perfect location for our Kauai vacation. The decor was very pretty - just as pictured, and the amenities were perfect for us. We shopped at Foodland to have a few little snacks and drinks that we kept in the fridge and heated in the microwave. I loved having my morning coffee on the lanai overlooking the treetops and the great view of the mountains. The ceiling fans kept the room at a perfect temperature at night. The beach equipment was a bonus. It was so great to be able to fly into Kauai and not have to bring beach towels, mats, boogie boards, etc. We always found a parking space. The wifi worked great. All in all we loved our stay. A few of our favorite local places were Foodland (Princeville) or Harvest Market Hanalei for quick meals to take to the beach, the Lighthouse Bistro at Kilauea (great dinnertime ambience, yummy food, not insane prices, not too far of a drive), nearly all of the beaches on the North Shore (Tunnels, Secret Beach and lava pools hike near Kilauea, Anini, Pine Trees). All in all, a great stay. Thanks!
My husband and I stayed in this comfortable studio for four nights, and it was a great place to relax after each day's adventures. The ceiling fans and cross breezes felt fantastic, and the view of the mountains off our balcony was very nice. We were within walking distance of a few beach paths and not too far from Queen's Bath. The owner was very accommodating on the day we arrived and helped us get our refrigerated items in a little early before the standard check-in time. We had just enough supplies in the mini-kitchen to make a few meals (breakfast burritos, pasta, and quesadillas), but space is limited for cooking (we ended up using the counter in the adjacent bathroom). The only downside was that parking was limited (even with a permit space) during our stay, and one evening we had nowhere to park after dinner out. Not sure of a solution to this problem, but maybe this doesn't always happen as we came at the beginning of the peak season. Overall a great experience and a nice place to stay!
