Located in the heart of the medieval Moorish and Jewish neighborhood of Alfama, the apartment has a stunning view over the wide River Tagus estuary. At walking distance of some of Lisbon’s leading museums and monuments, the apartment has a choice of typical grocers nearby as well as family-run restaurants, supermarkets, outdoors cafes, bars and other shops.

The apartment is in a building nestling the slope of a hill, 100 m above sea level, overlooking the river, so while its main, and private, entrance is on the ground-floor, you can enjoy the stunning river view from the second floor balconies on the other side of the building, without having to climb any stairs.

The building is facing south, the apartment is sunny and bright. You can sit in the living room and admire the beautiful light of the sunset over old town roofs and the amazing Tagus water's mirror.

Casa d’Alfama is duly registered in the Tourism Authority of Portugal (#986/AL) and respect Portuguese laws and regulations.

Fantastic, beautiful

This is a great place to stay in Lisbon. The pictures are very accurate and reflect a home that is beautifully furnished and equipped and with stunning views. When we weren't out touring Lisbon, we just sat and watched the Tagus river and listened to the sound of Fado from a club that is a block away. The location is great, about 12 minute walk to the Santa Apolonia railway and metro station-there is also a good grocery store there--and a one minute walk to the 28 and 15 tram lines. The home is full of beautiful art and lots of great books about Portugal and Lisbon. There is a tiny extra room that has a hammock so if someone in your party needs some "time out" they can hang out there in peace. Neighborhood is busy with people but there are few cars because it is the Alfama neighborhood. Customer service was excellent-all of our questions were answered promptly. It was a very good value for the money because the views from the apartment meant we never forgot where we were, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

a home from home in the middle of the old town

Casa D'Alfama is a very well equipped characterful apartment in the Alfama district of Lisbon. We enjoyed the open outlook from the front of the property over the rooftops to the Tagus river and the light and airy feeling of the rooms. It was 40c every day for our stay but with the shutters closed whilst we were out and the fans running when we were home, it was remarkably cool. The washing machine was a bonus as was the full size fridge. The apartment is just a couple of minutes walk up hill to the Portas do Sol viewpoint and there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby. It is also just 5 minutes walk down hill to the river. The immediate area is very quiet (even during the festival time) and we found it to be very convenient for this side of the city. It is a 20 minute walk to the two train stations and main square area. The tram 28 runs nearby but is almost always full. The castle is only about a 5 minute walk up hill and I would recommend going in the early evening to enjoy the sunset. I would recommend Chapito restaurant nearby. We arranged a private transfer to and from the airport through the booking for 30euro each way and this made the trip incredibly easy. So I recommend this property for those who like character and lovely views and who wish to enjoy the Alfama and Castle area and the rest of the cityy if you don't mind walking. I would come back here as I would rather stay in the characterful old town than in the busier newer parts. We made trips to Sintra, Belem and Cascais from our base here and this was made easy with the pre-paid Viva Vagem travel card. It is possible to walk down to the river and catch various buses to Comercio square or Cais do Sodre station. The booking for the apartment was very easy and the hosts representatives were very helpful, giving us a details map and lots of tips. They were also available throughout our stay, if we had any problems. We loved this apartment and Lisboa!

Great apartment. Just like the photographs.

After landing in Lisbon enjoyed a quick ride to the flat from the airport and arrived just as Cristina was getting there too with the keys --- and a good thing too! Taxi driver was trying double the fare to over 20 euros despite showing 10 on the meter, but Cristina was having none of that and was right in the guy's face and ready to go to the police station. Wow! Disgruntled driver was forced to give back part of the fare and sped off in high dungeon. You rock Cristina! The flat met all of our expectations. Roomy. High ceilings with lots of morning sun coming in and a great view of the Tagus. Superbly equipped kitchen came in handy when we decided to cook for ourselves once or twice during our week in Lisbon. Ideal for one couple, but would also work for two couples sharing and comfortable with living in close quarters. When, (not if) we return to Lisbon we'll hope to stay at Cristina's again!

This apartment was excellent. It had everything that you could possibly need and was very clean.

We had a fantastic experience here for four nights in April. Margarid was excellent at check in and was full of helpful information and was always on hand to help if required. Thank you. The location is perfect and close to a great variety of shops, bars and restaurants. It a short walk down to the waterfront and has excellent transport links. Cristina provoided fantastically detailed map of the local area that came useful for the duration of the stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a quality holiday apartment.

Wonderful location, so easy to get anywhere in Lisboa.

Treated like old friend when we arrived. We were made to feel comfortable with the amenities of our home as well as the city environment to include transportation. We had to leave for the airport at 3 in the morning and we were given great assistance in securing reliable transportation.

Highly recommend this spot. I've never been to Lisboa but will definitely stay here on my next trip.

Wunderbar gemütlich und gut gelegen

Wir haben hier eine wunderbare Winterwoche verbracht. Die Wohnung lässt einen sofort zuhause fühlen. In einem alten Haus, mitten in der Alfama, mit schönen alten Böden und Türen, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, hat sie alles, was man zum Wohlfühlen braucht. Der Blick über den Tejo bildet einen reizvollen Kontrast zu den engen Gassen, in denen das Haus liegt. Zu Fuß ist es nicht weit zur legendären Straßenbahnlinie 28, mit der man überall hinkommt. Und auch ins Zentrum und zur U-Bahn ist es nicht weit.

Der Kontakt zur Gastgeberin war von der ersten Mail an nett, unkompliziert und zuverlässig, es hat alles super geklappt.
