About The Owner

After visiting and staying with friends in Vermont for many years as guests, it began to feel like home. As our family began to grow, we knew it was time to create our own piece of heaven within the hills of the Green Mountains.

The Owner purchased this house in 1997

Why The Owner chose Stratton and Bromley Ski Areas

Danby, was the perfect location to build our Vermont home. It is centrally located between multiple ski mountains, shopping, snow mobiling, swimming and hiking access. In addition the views were not to be believed!

What makes this house unique

When we do choose to leave our tranquil corner of Danby, there are numerous outdoor and indoor activities that the surrounding areas have to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to thank you for renting your amazing house in VT to my family and friends for yet another year!

We had a fabulous weekend sledding, skiing, going on a sleigh ride and generally enjoying your house!

As always it was perfect for our group.

Great Place! Great Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful house. We were a group of 14 adults and 3 toddlers and had plenty of room for all. The bedroom set-up was perfect, the kitchen is good-sized and well-stocked. 3-4 of us could comfortably work in the kitchen together making meals. We cozily fit all 14 of us at the dining table for dinner. The play room was great for the toddlers in the day-they spent hours with the toys provided. And the pool table and foosball great for adult tournaments at night. The view from the porch is wonderful (our first night it was nearly 60 so we enjoyed cold beer on the front porch) and the second and third nights were spent in front of the fireplace warming from the snow. Lastly, the owner is very responsive and willing to answer any questions. We would definitely rent this house again if we are with a large group in VT.

Perfect for our family gathering

  • 5 of 5

This lovely pet-friendly house was perfect for our family gathering. It was well supplied with toys and games for the children. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable, and the yard large and great for playing ball and outdoor games. The location was ideal. Emerald Lake State Park was nearby and we took advantage of it several times. I highly recommend this for a family group.

Wonderful Property with Stunning Views!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this home while attending the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show. The home was immaculate and the location was perfect. We spent several nights enjoying the large kitchen and huge dining area and the group had more than enough room. The view from the deck is spectacular (the pictures do not do it justice) and the fire pit and front yard were loads of fun. Very close to Manchester (and the outlet shops!) which made it easy to enjoy the town as well. The owners were extremely helpful and thought of everything for the perfect stay. Our entire group loved it and we look forward to staying for 2 weeks next year!

80th Birthday

The house was beautifully maintained. The towels and amenities were plenty. The accommodations easily fit our large family of all ages. The pond added another pleasure. The view of the Green Mountains is great. We were able to take good bike rides on the hard surface dirt roads and the adjoining roads. Also the walks were good nearby and in the Green Mountains where the Appalachian trail is easily joined. Another surprise was the TV reception where some could watch the Tour de France and having wifi was also welcomed. I would recommend this to any and all.

Romantic, Beautiful Escape!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at this property! We arrived at night and in the dark, so we couldn't see much on the way to the place... but were overjoyed with the beauty of the home and all that it offered. The next morning we were awoken by an absolutely stunning view! We would have been satisfied if this gorgeous home if it would have been located anywhere- but the placement on the mountain and the unbelievable view it offered was so breathtaking and humbling, we barely wanted to leave the house! Of course, we couldn't resist exploring the surrounding areas and towns and there were many places nearby to explore- to go antiquing, apple picking, hiking, and eat delicious food! Vermont is truly just food for the soul- especially when in its glory of its gorgeous Autumn foliage. Our stay here was so tranquil, peaceful, refreshing, and wonderful... we definitely hope to go back again soon!

We rented this home for a gathering of old friends from high school and college, looking for a relaxing and isolated mountain weekend. The house was not only perfect for what we were looking for, it exceeded our expectations! The house description is very accurate, and the photos do not do it justice - the home, the location, and the view are all incredibly beautiful. Isolated enough to have complete privacy, but close enough to Manchester and Rutland to take advantage of local activities. The owners of the home were a pleasure to deal with, very accomodating and professional - just great people! We had an excellent time, and definitely plan on coming back some time in the near future! Thanks so much!!
