Relax and unwind in our fully furnished, log cabin home located in Schroon Lake. No, we are not located on the lake, but we are on 34 private acres adjoining state forest on 2 sides. We are only a short 5 min. ride to the free public beach and boat ramp. This 4 season vacation home combines all of the excitement of the outdoors with the luxury of a modern cabin. In season, enjoy our wild raspberries and blackberries lining the driveway. Also, hike up to the top of Sugar Hill, located directly behind the cabin, and enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the High Peaks in season.

New this season dock space available through local vendor at additional cost. Contact owner for details.

Schroon Lake is a beautiful scenic lake located in the Adirondack Mountains, and no more than a 30 minute car ride to the town of Lake George with its many restaurants and attractions. At approximately 9 miles long and one mile wide at the widest point, the lake is host to many aquatic past times that include water skiing, tubing, fishing, and ice fishing. Fish that reside here are lake trout, landlocked salmon, pike and Smallmouth Bass.

New this year dock space available through local vendor at additional cost. Contact owner for details.

In the winter, enjoy ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile riding, and snowshoeing. Ski resorts are not far away! Lake Placid is located a scenic 45 minute car ride away, while Gore Mountain is just 30 minutes away. Hunting areas are located close by with many large tracts of public forests.

The Town of Schroon Lake includes pubs as well as restaurants, grocery store, video rental store and many shops to buy everything from souvenirs to fishing supplies. Visit the Chamber of Commerce for a list of town activities and events that occur weekly. We hope you enjoy your stay in this mountain log home away from home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Mike and Judy, just wanted to thank you for the beautiful home that is available for people to rent. Your home is well supplied with what is needed to function in a home. The books, games, puzzle, the tables and all the kitchen needs that were supplied. It certainly made our stay wonderful. You thought of so many important things, that do make a difference on a daily basis. We found the home clean. I didn't feel that I needed to clean anything before using. Thank you for that. We all enjoyed beautiful Schroon Lake and the community. We would definitely recommend to others. Thank you again, Jolene

The cabin is set well off the road, which is great for a family stay with children being able to roam free. There is land to hike right on the property as well as a fire pit and ample clearing for stargazing. We brought along a large telescope and were able to view the full hunter moon this weekend. The cabin is all very new which makes cleaning at the end of a stay easy as pie. There are rockers on the porch for comfort rain or shine.

There is one queen bed downstairs and two full beds upstairs...the 2 twins beds that were mentioned in the vrbo site, unfortunately, are each above one full sized bed instead of being in another room, bunk beds, basically. My grown son and his sister had to share a room. They made do, although they did say the beds were not comfortable. That being much sleep do you need on a family vacation? We hiked, ate at restaurants and picnicked the weekend away. Sugar hill was an enjoyable stay.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely family weekend in the cabin in the woods. The kids loved hiking up the hill just out back. I loved that they spent time reading on the front porch rocking chairs! The stars were amazing at night.

The cabin itself is spacious, very clean, and well equipped with everything needed. It's also a short drive to town and a beautiful public beach.

We would recommend renting without hesitation.

Fantastic Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin for our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect! The location is out of the way and private, but close to all the favorite sites in the Schroon Lake area (i.e. Blue Ridge, Split Rock, Pharaoh Lake, Ft. Ticonderoga, etc.). Our only regret was not planning a longer trip.

Great cabin, convenient location, yet private

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is clean, well stocked & private. The screened in porch is a definite plus. While it is private, it's just a short ride to the grocery store, restaurants & the beach.

There were 5 in or crew: my wife & I, Daughter & 2 grand kids (2 & 6). While staying at the cabin, we visited Ft Ticonderoga (30 minute drive), Lake George (30 minutes) and the Schroon Lake beach (a 5 minute drive). We also took a day trip to "The Wild Center" in Tupper Lake (an hour & a half drive). The Wild Center is an educational center of wild life in the Adirondack Region (it was worth the trip). We all enjoyed the outings. The kids really enjoyed the beach which is clean, the water is clear, and areas are roped off based on dept of the water. The 6 yr old LOVED The Wild Center, where between the indoor & outdoor exhibits, you can spend the majority of a day.

During our stay we ate at Shirley's Diner (a quick lunch), Flanigan's Pub (good Bar food), Sticks & Stones - good food but a little crowded & noisy, and Witherbee's Carriage House -Good food & quieter.

If you're into road biking, there's a good 26 mile loop that goes all around the lake starting at the end of the driveway. While about 12 miles of the loop is on Rt 9, the shoulder on rt 9 is really wide.

We had a great vacation, & stayed at a great cabin. We would stay here again if visiting the area in the future.

Always impressed!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd trip up to Schroon Lake/Adirondacks, and our 2nd time staying at this cabin. It is everything like the discription and pictures! Very quite and off the beaten path and plenty of space for a big group of people! We spent a couple extra days here this year compared to last and got to relax at the house a little more. Plenty of room in the yad for activities and at night the sky it lit up like a Christmas tree! Even we we got rained out for a few times the pull out couches, and DVD selction made for an awesome movie experience. This place has everything you could want or need including a fully stocked kitchen. You will not be upset that you chose this place!!
