This extraordinary home features approximately 6000 square feet of luxury, and is located 20 feet from the lake. There are incredible views of the lake from the all the rooms and decks on each of the four levels. This home is located in Dawsonville, Georgia, in a beautiful setting and private cove.
This home is close in proximity to 4 award winning wineries, the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall, wonderful Golf Courses, the Appalachian Trail, Lake Lanier Water Park, and yes, even the largest kangaroo conservation outside of Australia that is great for a family visit. Ask me for the list of 'Fun things to Do' and make it a memorable vacation. Dahlonega is a wonderful quaint town that is 20 minutes away, full of shops and restaurants, so check out the Dahlonega Square. Take a trip to visit the amazing wineries for a tasting that are only 20 minutes away, or you can go hiking on one of the many trails on the close by Appalachian Trail. See the spectacular color's of Fall all around you. All this and more no more than 20 minutes away. The house sits in a hub of fun!
The home has five spacious bedrooms, and can comfortably sleep 11, with a maximum number of 13 people. The home also features five and a half bathrooms, with everyone being able to enjoy their own private bath. The master bedroom, located on the fourth level, has a king bed and its own private deck, sitting area and bathroom with a stand up shower and a large jacuzzi-jetted tub. Also on the fourth level is a DSL station also wireless featuring a private desk.
Located on the third level is the gourmet kitchen which is extremely spacious and features upgraded appliances. A washer and dryer are also available. The living room, dining room, and kitchen area with fireplace are wonderful for entertaining, and leads out to a large screened-in porch through 3 sets of french doors and grilling area overlooking the lake. Two more bedrooms, one with a queen and a twin bed and private bath and the other with a king bed a private bath are located on this level.
The second level features a bedroom with a queen bed and full bath. Also on this level is a media room with a large screen television, DVD and VCR and a see-through fireplace, which is great for watching television or your favorite video.
The first level of the home is a game room which has a pool table, foosball table, television, DVD player, fireplace and features a bedroom with a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa and full bath and steam shower, also with a large deck off with full lake view.
The double slip dock with one oversized slip and party deck is right outside your back door. You can rent a boat nearby and take the scenic route over the lake to see the dramatic color's of Fall along the shoreline.

I purchased this home because it is a beautiful home that sits on Lake Lanier, the largest lake in Georgia. I have been coming to Lake Lanier since I was a child and have great memories of time spent with family and friends and wanted to share this home with folks to make their own memories. So far, it has been a great success and I have enjoyed the spoils of having families make thier own Lake Lanier memories.
What makes this House unique
It is rarely known that North Georgia has an array of great wineries that sit right on the mountains. The views are spectacular and the wineries themselves are gorgeous. Napa has nothing on the quality of these wines and spending a day touring these close in proximity wineries is a great time. I also enjoy Burts Pumpkin Farm. A HUGE pumpkin farm where family's can pick out their pumpkin and then picnic right there on the farm. In addition, I love going Christmas shopping at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Malls where I can get amazing deals on everything AND come back to enjoy a beautiful home with my family and friends. Hiking one of the many trails on the Appalachain Mountain to view the color's of fall is absolutely breathtaking. During the Summer, of course the scale of everything to do is enormous. Waterskiing, boating to where you can park the boat and have lunch or dinner, fishing right off the dock, or relaxing on top of the dock's party deck with a few friends. There is so much to do!

Great family time, enjoying lake life!
Our family has such a great time in this house. we had everything at our disposal. the house was big enough to give the kids their space, we had wonderful access to the boat dock and the wonderful lake. Location was perfect seemed like we were in the middle of everywhere we wanted to visit. We would absolutely stay there again. Evelyn was a pleasure to work with.

Such a fun house for a family gathering. Very equipped, comfortable, spacious and the owner was a pleasure, quick to respond. Hard to leave on a sunny spring day. Lake was great, the dock was great, we enjoyed the game room in the evenings and back porch in the mornings. A+ rating.
Excellent property for a large family visit!
Our large family enjoyed Thanksgiving in this absolutely beautiful and pristine property. Since the kitchen was to be the centerpiece of the occasion, it was important that it be well-stocked and convenient. Having traveled extensively, experiencing many rental homes, and always with an eye to the kitchen, let me just say this is the best we've ever encountered. Everything, down to the last unique utensil, was there, and in excellent condition. Additionally, we loved having a private bath to accompany every beautiful bedroom. There's a great firepit with seating, kayaks, excellent "fun room" with foosball and billiards, and various TV/DVD spots to enjoy. This has to be our favorite rental experience ever, and a large part of that experience was working with Evelyn. She couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! Whether you're looking for a vacation for a small or large group, this beautiful lake home can't be beat! We're definitely going back.

Needs maintenance and owner supervision
Overall the property has a great design for large diverse groups. We had a mini family reunion which included ages 2 through 88 years old. The multiple entertaining spaces were great and having bedrooms on all levels worked out well.
The property is in need of maintenance and a deep clean. Ceilings were stained, wood floors were warped from previous leaks, the dishwasher top rack was broken, most toilets needed plunging after use, some windows were inoperable and sliding door were very difficult to open or could not be locked due to lack of maintenance. The first night our family members found major blood stained sheets on one bed, and two other beds had stained bedspreads that were beyond acceptable. There were two rolls of toilet paper for 6 bathrooms.
We phoned the owner and she responded in a reasonable amount of time. She seemed very upset by the linen situation and the maintenance issues we addressed with her. She offered to drive to the property from Atlanta to bring us replacement sheets and toilet paper which included a bottle of wine for our inconveniences. The sheets she brought were brand new and never had been washed. Unfortunately, one of our guests stayed behind from our boating trip to wash the bloodied sheets before we heard back form the owner; the last thing anyone wanted to do was spend more time washing during our 3 day reunion. The owner seemed to have 'excuses' for the maintenance issues we addressed with her. As previous VRBO owners of two 5-star properties in Sonoma, CA. we understand the importance of maintenance and overseeing the quality and cleanliness of the accommodations you offer. The owner needs to spend the winter months completing maintenance issues, checking and rechecking all aspects of the property, and locate a cleaning crew that she can train and manage.
Dave, when you called and let me know that you and your husband were displeased with the house, I did everything I could as quickly as possible to correct anything that was not satisfactory. I will address the issues you have mentioned.
The floor in front of the fire place was buckled because of a RECENT hurricane/tropical storm that had gone through the area and several shingles were taken by the wind hence the stains on the ceiling above the areas where the floors were buckled. I had ALL the hardwood floors sanded and stained last year to the tune of $16,000.00. I had a choice of cancelling your reservation as well as others to replace the roof and flooring and paint or move forward with your reservation with a quick fix until the house was not rented and I had time to address this issue. The dishwasher rack was broken from a previous rental and a new rack has been ordered but it is on back order, that is just a fact, not an excuse. It still does function as you observed. I have not heard from any renters that the toilets needed to be plunged after using. The window you stated could not be opened I opened for you, it was recently painted and just needed to be pushed open as you saw me do. You did not show me any other windows that were inoperable. You did show me a door that was difficult to open, I have taken care of that.
As for the stained sheets and only two rolls of toilet paper, you are correct and there it no excuse for that. I have taken that up with my housekeepers. They are new and that will NEVER happen again. As you stated, I immediately went out and purchased new sheets and brought them to you in the package, yes unwashed as I did not have time as I wanted to get to this issue asap. I did not give you excuses for the maintenance, I just did not want to cancel your trip as well as others and I am sorry that the stain on the ceiling and the floor being buckled would be so upsetting.
I have not had any issues from previous renters on the cleanliness of the home. I am having a new roof installed as well as painting the ceiling and new hardwoods replacing the small area in front of the fireplace in the coming weeks when rentals slow down.
I did my best to immediately address any issues you had and am sorry that you had a less than ideal stay.
Wonderful house for a crowd.
Had a great time with family over the holiday. Wish the house was a little better equipped. No trash bags, no extra toilet paper or paper towels, no salt and paper, and no propane. I understood that the propane might be empty, but it wouldn't be difficult to have a full canister on hand at all times. It would be easy to figure out if someone took it and deduct the cost from the deposit. Other than that, it was great!
