FABULOUS Mt Rainier/Harbor/Town/Puget Sound/Valley/Crescent Ridgeline Views! Beautifully restored, classic cottage. Tiny; only 450 square feet, but amazing! Newly decorated (just removed /replaced all ceilings to put in custom lighting), paint (taupe with white trim), taupe carpeting, new ceramic bath with glass corner shower, nearly-new, white kitchen appliances with new, 'oak' laminate floor, decks with outdoor furniture on 3 sides, all with views. Deer graze in the valley off the back deck and may walk through the yard to get there!
Yardwork (lawns and garden) maintained by professional gardener. Just above the Harbor...spotlessly clean and well-maintained. You will love this property! Furnished with new furniture (including a fullsize hide-a-bed couch, queen pillow-top mattress bed, deck furniture on 3 sides, classic leather barrel swivel chair). Designer linens, dishes, cookware & small appliances...EVERYTHING you could want for a fun and/or relaxed stay. Perfect one person retreat or romantic couple get-away ....a classic honeymoon cottage. You may want to come alone for a quiet escape; still with plenty to do nearby. This is the place to read a book or to write one!
Also notice VRBO listing #188445 - 'Above Gig Harbor'. This is an adjoining property (just across a large lawn). The two together could accomodate a very large group!
Either the larger home or both of these properties are wonderful places for Family or group larger than the cottage can accommodate.

A long-time residential rental property owner, getting to design and furnish the large view home ('Above Gig Harbor' - VRBO 188445) was so much fun, I decided to also restore and decorate the adjoining cottage as a vacation rental. I am single, faculty at a small college in Tacoma, sail, hike, ski, a quilter, knitter, hand-weaver. I'm a concierge-style owner and love to meet and chat with guests (and potential guests) and answer questions or requests to facilitate your memorable stay here. I look forward to meeting you.
Patricia A. LeBlanc purchased this cottage in 1993
I live just 4 miles from the cottage.
Come to Gig Harbor and see for yourself why folks live/vacation here!
The sun, the views, the gardens, the privacy...it's a great retreat spot.
Coming from AZ., we were looking for cool weather and this location provided it! While the first couple of days were unusually warm for the time of year, the owner has fans that cool the cottage quickly. Leaving the doors open at night allowed us to enjoy the natural air conditioning and we slept well! It is very nice to sit on the deck and enjoy the rabbits, birds and occasional deer. Very relaxing! Should you want to cook, the kitchen is well appointed, but there are a lot of restaurants in the area to enjoy with the added benefit of some overlooking the marina. The location is a good jumping off point for those who wish to do a lot of exploring. The owner Pat is very responsive should you have a need to contact her.
Older but fun. Great old glass windows. Comfortable for two. Needs new bed. Private....kind of. Quant.
We had never been to the Seattle area and just happened upon Gig Harbor. It was definitely the right choice! What a sweet town filled with fun shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed breakfast at The Devoted Kiss down by the harbor, along with a concert and art street fair. Reading and eating on the deck was a treat. And, we made some delicious cobbler from the fresh blackberries in the yard. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Pat was extremely friendly and accommodating before and during our trip. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and wind down, the High Cottage is your place!
Cute little cottage, but the owner decided to turn off the irrigation to the landscape. (voluntarily) So, the entire yard/hill is solid dead grass, very ugly, not as pictured. I told the owner that the picture on vrbo was not accurate and that she should change it, but she didn't do so, (it's been over two weeks since I checked out).
I had other issues with the place as well, it smelled very musty upon check in and into my overnight stay. Maybe it was just me, but I checked out early.
Exactly as pictured, clean, beautifully decorated. Perfect size for a couple! Quiet, and perfectly stacked with everything needed. The owner, Pat, was wonderful to work with. We sat on the deck July 4th and watched 6 different firework shows over the harbor. Great breezes, no need for air conditioning! Can't wait to go back...a perfect retreat!
The location was nice , the house was clean. We did see a buck deer in the yard one day eating blackberries. the problem we had was it was very warm the first week in Aug. and the house has no A.C., compound that with the fact that the windows don't open ( painted shut ) and you have one very hot uncomfortable situation. When we went traveling for the day we had to lock the house up and when we got back around 6 pm the place was like an oven. So, if you stay in cooler weather this may not be a problem. I would advise Pat to upgrade the windows so some cross ventilation is possible.
Less than 2 miles from incredible shopping (in 3 directions), marinas, tourist activities, an amazing world-class YMCA...
