Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)

Our cozy house is located in St. Mary's Glacier addition of Idaho Springs. It is 10,000 feet high just 30 minutes from Denver. We have two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen size bed and the other with double bunk beds. There is a full bath upstairs as well as a washer and dryer. Downstairs we have the living, dining and kitchen with a nice eat in bar and all the comforts of home. Downstairs also includes a half bath. There is a futon in the living room that folds out to queen size bed. A wood burning stove in the living room can heat the entire house but there are also electric wall heaters in every room.

We love to sit out on the deck in the morning and drink our coffee while we wait for the deer to frolic by on their way to the creek that backs up to the property. Hummingbirds fly around and birds and squirrels are plentiful. 4-wheeling trails are abundant in the St. Mary area and many can be accessed from our house. The Indian Hot Springs are just a short drive down to Idaho Springs which also has rafting and plentiful shopping. Of course if you want to take a short 30 minute drive you can be in Central City and Black Hawk where you can try your luck with Black Jack, Craps or Slots!

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Loved this cabin and property! Very quiet and peaceful. Has everything you need and more. The dogs loved the streams and the woods. Really enjoyed the long weekend here. Beautiful scenery. Went to St Mary's Glacier which is super close to the house.

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

Nice place that had everything we needed. Beautiful location. Less than 5 minutes to base of Saint Mary's glacier. Lots of awesome ATV trails. Sights of Chipmunks, a wolf, and hummingbirds.

Clean and comfortable mountain get away

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for four nights with my family of five and we loved it. Being from Chicago, it took getting used to traveling up and down the mountain, but I enjoyed it after a few times and the intent was to get away from the crowds anyway. The house is in a scenic and central location to enjoy many different activities. Spent a lot of time eating and shopping in Georgetown and Idaho springs. Also enjoyed a great breakfast in nearby Empire at the original Hard Rock Cafe. But I most enjoyed being so close to St Mary's Glacier (the trailhead is only a mile around the corner) and the breathtaking views after a 3/4 mile hike up the mountain. The house is very clean and cozy. We were able to enjoy the late afternoons and evenings sitting by the nearby Creek in back or sitting on the deck watching all the hummingbirds eat from the feeders. Would definitely do this again.

Lovely base for more adventures

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location for adventures in Idaho Springs, fishing, and hiking. We enjoyed the local museums, hiking and lakes but we cooked at the house every day and enjoyed playing cards and watching videos when the rain poured down. Nice accommodations for a few days in the mountains.

We had everything that we needed - plenty of condiments and extras in the cupboards to make up for anything we forgot to bring for meals. The cabin is very close to other houses but you are not aware of them when you are inside. Comfortable beds. The bunk beds are double bed size! St. Mary's Glacier just up the hill is a really nice hike. We also went into Idaho Springs to a great museum at the Visitor Center - history of mining in the area - very nicely done and so interesting! Lunch at a Mexican restaurant that I would not recommend but there are lots of restaurants in Idaho Springs that are probably very good. We just happened to hit a busy time and opted for a place with no wait.

In the Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

I travelled to this area because we love the mountains, hiking, and site seeing. There are beautiful views and lakes all around. One our favorite things is to see local wildlife. On the last morning of our 3 night stay a large moose was just 15 feet from the deck. We watched him enjoy breakfast from the sliding glass doors in the living room. It was an amazing site.

The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone. Lots of deck space and places to enjoy the outdoors. The walk down to the creek was just right. There is a picnic table and horseshoes there.

Great place! We had a very nice stay.
