Straupitz is a place in the Spreewald in Brandenburg. Straupitz is marked by scenic idyll, ideal for those seeking tranquility. The region around the city is rich with forests and lakes and so offers the best conditions for cycling and water walkers. Not far from the town is the Great Dutzendsee. Nearby are Lake Byhleguhrer (3 km away) and Lake Bylen (5 km away), all of which attract fishermen. As a special interest of the Straupitz still functioning Dutch windmill and a historic, now a museum rebuilt, granaries are mentioned. There are next to an exhibition about the village's history, a pottery workshop and a shopping arcade. The former castle Straupitz with the associated castle park as well as the neoclassical style built village church are also attractions. In town there were dining options and shopping. There you will find the spa and Tell Park, an art gallery, the Old Spreewaldbahnhof - a former narrow gauge railway station offering experience gastronomy - or the Bismarck Tower, an observation tower. Burg also adjoins the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. The area is about 60 000 square meters in size and is ideal for walks on trails and quaint along sculptures from the Sorbian mythology.
