How to get to Dominical: Two commuter airlines, Nature Air and Sansa, leave from San Jose, Liberia and other towns in Costa Rica to either the Quepos Airport which is about 1 hour North of Dominical or to Palmar Sur which is about 40 minutes South of Dominical.
The drive from San Jose is 3 ½ to 4 hours drive depending on the route. The one route goes along the cost and the other is more of a mountain trip. Its 3 ½ hours if taking the mountain road through San Isidro de General. The coastal route through Jaco and Quepos is 4 hours.
Please feel free to email me or call for more information. Also please take a look at my site dedicated to the Villa and let me know if you have any further questions as I will be glad to answer any questions or help out in any way possible.
Very nice place, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the villa. Its the best location of all the villas as its close to the ocean and not too high up the hill so you dont need a 4X4.
You can hear the ocean and sea breese but still have the privacy and security you need.
I would go back again at a moments notice
Me, My wife and two daughters spent five weeks in Costa Rica and started our our trip by staying a week in Dominical. This villa had everything we were looking for. The views from each room and the patio are amazing! The villa itself is decorated beautifully, the furnishing are very comfortable, and the house is clean. Gavin was helpful when needed and there were no problems during our stay, everything was taken care of before we arrived. Book a week here, you won't regret it!
The place is incredible! Rain forest just below the property with Iguanas, birds and white faced monkeys, just across the street from the beach. Gated community within walking distance to a waterfall, the beach, restaurants and a couple of very friendly neighbors.
Gavin gave excellent directions and it was an easy beautiful drive from San Jose. There is only one problem with the property.....the thought that someday you'll have to leave! The greatest vacation and sunsets ever!
The property was exactly as described. The home, in a gated community, is very comfortable for up to 5 adults. The kitchen is sufficient for everyday cooking. The best grocery is the big BM, 10-15 minutes away in Uvita. A small grill is available for grilling on patio. The pictures don't give the real view. Some of the best sunsets on the ocean. Lots of wild life that passes thru the trees below. The location in Dominical is ideal for day trips. Plenty of good restaurant choices. A car with 4 wheel drive is necessary in this area. Property management was quick to respond to needs and problems. There are several beaches that you can drive to but use caution swimming as the rip tides are dangerous on this side of the country. But if you surf, it's ideal. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to a return in the future.
The villa was just as promised in the description and pictures. It is very clean and well maintained & Gavin reacts very quickly if there is any problem. The villa is a 3 hour drive from the San Jose Airport but well worth the drive. We took the coastal route and the roads were very good. Recommend a GPS - worth the cost. Dominical is a small but quaint village and the area has many fine restaurants with excellent service, and all within a two to fifteen minute drive from the villa. PorQueNo?, Cuna Del Angel, and Villas Alturas are three restaurants I recommend highly for both the food, which was great and the view, which was extraordinary. While the beaches in the area are great, you'll have to take the half hour drive to Quepos if you want to have a Zip Line or Jet Ski experience. Worth the drive and the cost. Just make sure you get back to the villa at sunset to enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as you watch the sun go down!
Really wonderful house! Everything you need to enjoy Dominicalito!
Gorgeous view - we saw Capuchin monkeys in the trees from our balcony. The villa was spotless, A/C units in living room and bedrooms were very efficient. It was so convenient to have a washer/dryer for the beach towels, and we did our laundry before we left so we could pack clean clothes to go home :-) If we emailed any questions, Gavin was quick to respond.
This location was less than an hour from Manuel Antonio & 20 minutes from Marino Ballena National Park. It was nice having a place close to the highway so we could explore the area - only 3 km from the restaurants in Dominical (Cafe Mono Congo & Patron's were our favorites). There is even a waterfall and swimming hole nearby where you can cool off after a day at the beach.
We're glad we chose this quiet, laid-back area instead of the tourist-packed locations further North. Once you get out of San Jose, it's a very smooth drive. Gavin's directions and a photo of the street entrance made it easy to find.
