About Andy

A freelance writer, I spend most of the year in Manhattan. I fell in love with the Tetons as a youngster on a wilderness trip, and with the house, this wonderful area has become my second home. I treasure both the vibrancy of urban life and the solitude of the Teton/Yellowstone wilderness, and how each experience highlights and enhances the other. There have been many guests at the house from all corners of the world, and nothing has pleased me more than their more than their appreciation of its gift of serenity.

Andy purchased this house in 1989

Excellent base for Christmas family fun!!!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was staying at Andy's beautiful home near Victor, ID....great location, convenient to Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, Yellowstone, Driggs and Victor. My family of 8 adults and 4 children (ages 4 & under) were very comfortable sleeping...even giving the 1 yr old and 2 yr old each their own private room! The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of plates, glassware, silverware, etc for our large group. The view from anywhere in the house was breathtaking but we loved sitting around the dining table looking out at the mountains and snow!! We stayed over Christmas and Andy & Josh (caretaker) were amazing getting us a Christmas tree so we could have a tree for the little ones to wake up to! We arrived Christmas Eve afternoon and Andy was helpful as to where to get groceries in for our meals. Two days after Christmas a deer with full antlers came up to the front door delighting the kids (it was Blitzen according to my 4 yr old grandson)!! We went on a snow coach tour of Yellowstone the day after Christmas, went sledding in the drive, took a horse drawn sleigh ride in the Nat'l Elk Reserve, hiked around the house & Targhee Nat'l Forest, skied at Grand Targhee and enjoyed the charm of Victor, Driggs and Jackson Hole. Victor has some nice breweries and cafes. Josh did a great job helping us with whatever we needed and keeping the driveway/walkway snowed every day while there, which is exactly what we wanted! We had an amazing time and Andy was a most gracious host, offering excellent advice and information. I highly recommend this place for a family getaway and assure you Andy will help you with any questions or concerns you might have. Thank You Andy & Josh!!!

p.s. wanted to post some pictures of our adventures but couldn't figure out how....:(

Family Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented this lovely home in Wilson. Great location, close to Jackson but I would also recommend checking out the breweries in Victor. We also had an excellent meal in Driggs, ID one evening. The home was well equipped and exactly as pictured. We comfortably slept 15 adults, plus 3 small children ( ages 4, 2 and 3 months). We were able to cook meals for everyone the nights we decided to stay in. If you are looking for a beautiful home, close to everything but away from the hustle of Jackson, I would recommend this one. Andy (the owner) and Josh (caretaker) were extremely responsive and helpful.

Lovely, Private Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

Some girlfriends and I stayed at this amazing home for 5 days, looking to get out of the heat of Texas. The house was just as described in the review. It was spacious and had amazing views and great star-gazing at night time. We were about a 25 minute drive to downtown Jackson, even though I would also recommend checking out Victor for some meals, too, as it was a very cute town. The house was well equipped with most anything we needed. The only things we would suggest would be adding wine glasses (or even juice size glasses), a cooler that could be used for day trips and some hot pads (we did a lot of cooking). Also, the broiler didn't appear to be working on the stove but this was an easy work around. All that being said, I could highly recommend this home for a summer get away with friends (it sleeps so many!) as you are so close to the Tetons and Yellowstone. Andy was a gracious host and provided us with tips, a bottle of wine when we arrived and was very accessible when we had questions. I would love to come back to Jackson and would certainly stay here again!

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

The house is exactly as pictured. Easily slept 13 and could have slept 3 more. About 35-40 minutes from Jackson itself. Very close to Victor, ID which had places to eat and a drive in movie theater. It was about a mile from the Grand Teton brewery which was a nice place to grab a beer. Kitchen was well stocked. Hot tub worked as well. Would love to stay again some day. Andy was very responsive and returned my deposit promptly. Talked to him by phone and he responded to email in a timely manner as well. Paid via paypal.

Family get together

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 18 who met at a half way point for a vacation, coming from Canada, the Denver area, and Kansas. We chose this location because of the size of our group and the proximity to Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. What a great selection Andy's property provided for us!

Most of our food was served at the cabin, which provided all that you could ask for concerning amenities. I was concerned that sleeping 18 people might be a bit too much to ask for, but it was very comfortable for everyone. We were able to do some hiking, white water rafting, view the Tetons, just to mention a few of our activities. Most of these were within a 30-35 minute drive. Some of our group even shot a picture of a moose ambling across the property!

Josh, the caretaker of the property, stopped in every now and then to see if we had any questions/concerns and was very helpful. We appreciated his stopping by.

We have many fond memories of our stay in Andy's cabin and when we come back to this area, will undoubtedly request this location again. We highly recommend anyone wanting a location near the Tetons/Jackson Hole area with a large group to look at this property.

The perfect homebase

  • 5 of 5

I booked this house about a month before our trip out to Jackson Hole. Working with Andy, the owner, was both easy and informative. He helped me answer all of those little unknowns, and gave me tips based on my intentions of the trip. I had 14 people, all in our mid to late 20's, flying and driving in on the 12th of March. Our main goal was to board at both Jackson and Grand Targhee. Both mountains are about 40 min away from the house, which is nice if you want to ride both.

I honestly do not have a complaint about the setup. We were able to sleep everyone comfortably, and cooking dinner for 14 was easy enough. There is plenty of cookware available. Also, there is plenty of space available for everyone's gear. You can set up a mini workshop in the annex and start tuning your equipment for the adventure.

The hot tub and sauna is a must after a long day of riding, and the fireplace is a nice way to relax after all is said and done. I would highly recommend this property as a home base for anyone who needs to house lots of people. What is so special about the layout is that even though everyone has a place to sleep, the living room is where everyone congregates, which is so important if you are having a reunion type of trip. After all, the house is only as fun as the people in it, you want everyone to get along and be comfortable, which is very possible here.

A special thanks to Josh, the Property Manager, for helping me get from Jackson to the house. I look forward to working with Andy and Josh again when we plan our next trip out west. I think a summer trip is in line!
