This is a very special place for us and we are excited to share this amazing vacation spot with you and your family.
Chris Tesseris purchased this cottage in 2014
We originally purchased the property because our extended family vacations near by. We love the amazing lake views from the family room and the overall 'coziness' of Waters Edge.
We enjoy our boating time on Lake Michigan, especially while watching serene sunsets.
The cabin is neat and roomy. The walk to Lake Michigan is on hot, deep sand, not a boardwalk, and the residents use an ATV. it is 300 yards, which is almost three times the length of a football field. It is very nice once you make it there. The master bedroom and bath have a separate outside entrance on a different level, and should be noted for families that want to stay together.
Things to note: The twin beds are actually flat springs with a mattress on top, very uncomfortable and noisy. The kitchen is stocked, but all the pots and pans are unusable, can't be cleaned and non stick surfaces are scratched and peeling. The dishwasher is so dirty, I never used it. And lastly, the cottage sits next to the automatic private entrance gate, which is quite busy. It sounds like a garage door opening.
It definitely is a cabin in the woods, sitting on a bluff which overlooks a portion of Piegon Lake. Very quaint.
Thank you for a relaxing week. The home was beautiful, had everything we needed and was conveniently located. We enjoyed boating, kayaking, time at the beach and trips to Holland and Grand Haven. The house was in a perfect location to do it all. The owners were quick to answer all our questions
and had several helpful hints and little "extras" in the house. We have already recommended to our friends. Hoping to return again in the future!
We were pleasantly surprised with the house! It was very clean, cozy and in a beautiful location. I was looking for a place near Lake Michigan to take my adult children and their families that we could make a yearly tradition of. There was a big deck for grilling and hanging out. In the back was a unique fire pit for campfires and roasting. Holland and Grand Haven are nearby for wandering if you want to get away from the private beach. The Beach House restaurant is very close with great food. The owners were very easy to deal with and very helpful with what would be available to us. The kitchen was very well stocked with things you might not expect (you can tell they put some thought into it!). The overall experience for all of my family was awesome!
This isn't really a cottage. It's a beautiful home!!! It is in a beautiful setting and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. I truly love it.
I was invited by friends and for the most part the place is great. Bathroom is big, kitchen has everything you could possible need, the main bedroom is nice as is the porch and fire pit area. Sitting on the porch with view of water is very relaxing. Now for the negative, the downstairs seperate bedroom is dark and the bathroom has a curtain versus a door and the ceiling is so low that if you are 6 foot tall you will leave with a headache plus a few lumps. The other bedroom upstairs has two twins beds which are cots and squeak every time you move. The lake is a good walk away but does have chairs, picnic tables and fire pit to enjoy. I would recommend but at lower price and suggest new twin beds be bought and do some work on the seperate "suite".
This cottage provides an excellent vacation experience with all the "little extra's" provided. The owners are very good to work with. Property is as described...trees surrounding house do give a limited view of pigeon lake if you're by the fire, however, firepits on beach that you can use make the beach nighttime even more special. Pigeon lake is quiet and clean and views are wonderful. The owners maintain property and provide firewood and soaps, etc., things other places do not. We could not have asked for a more relaxing vacation and they don't overcharge on rent just because they are by Lake Michigan. Very easy access to both Holland and Grand Haven as well. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, can't rave enough about it, would definitely recommend to anyone. Would love to return sometime again in the future.
Weekly reservations are granted from Saturday afternoon through the following Saturday morning in order for our cleaning service to thoroughly prepare Waters Edge for the next tenants. Thank you!
