About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our house is relatively new-it was completed in July of 2004. It has excellent privacy and is near numerous things to do and places to see. The house is close to Volcano National Park. It is also very near an excellent snorkel area (less than ten miles). Other nearby attractions are a 'hot pond'-a swimming pool with warm water heated by a lava hot springs. Lava Tree Monument is very interesting and is immediately adjacent to Leilani Estates.

The house has a huge covered deck or lanai which is 10x40'. We eat all of our meals on the deck which has a very beautiful view over the back portion of our property. One additional feature of our house is that it has a master bedroom and master bath at each end of the house, which makes it very nice for two couples. Between the two ends of the house are a small bedroom with bunk beds, a 1/2 bath, the living room and kitchen/dining area.

Tropical paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five adored our stay at this lovely, private, clean and welcoming home in Pahoa. Great spot to use as a home-base for all of our exploration of the surrounding areas such as Hilo, Akaka Falls, local tide pools and beaches, and the volcanic lava viewing. We loved the songs of the birds by day and the coqui frogs by night! The lanai was spatious and great for outdoor meals and morning yoga. We also liked the neighbourhood for our morning jogs. The beds were comfortable and it was great to have three bathrooms for the five of us! Overall, just an amazing stay!

Private and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We are parents of 2 boys aged 2 and 8 who stayed at the property December 2016. Comfortable, well equipped. Great privacy- seemed like we were the only people for miles, even though in a neighborhood. Lovely to have access to fresh fruit (citrus, starfruit) - the kids had fun picking it off the trees and eating it fresh. They also loved scouting for frogs and geckos on/under the back deck. There were so many bathrooms in this place that we didnt even use them all! Appreciated the coolers to use and the pool noodles for floating in the warm pool at Ahalanui Park which was only a short drive away. Also found a new treasure close by- the warm Queens Bath at Isaac Hale Beach Park, also not far from the home. We had to interact with the property manager a couple of times due to random questions and she was a pleasure to deal with. We definitely recommend this property- had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay here!

A comfortable home-away-from-home

  • 5 of 5

Two couples and one child comfortably stayed here for one week in June 2014. The property is beautiful, private, and very clean. We enjoyed eating many meals out on the spacious deck and used the grill several times. In the evening we would sit out on the deck, look at all the bright stars, and it was amazing. The frogs sang us to sleep each night, and because it was so private, we never heard any cars. There were flowering bushes on the property that smelled wonderful (Jasmine?) and the entire house was lightly scented with the perfume. We wished we were able to stay here longer; it was our favorite of the three places we stayed.

great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to shake off the stresses of the main land. The house is impeccably clean, with wall to wall tile floors, uncluttered and full of light. You can see nature from every point your standing. But the best part is the complete privacy all around the property. The lanai is just a wonderful place to enjoy meals and conversation while looking at colorful birds in the morning or listening to the jungle sounds at night. Rain or shine we were comfortable, actually we were mesmerized by the rapid switches between sunshine and pouring rain, all while we had dinner. We started most day excursions with a swim at the hot pond in Ahalanui park. We took the short cut and were there in 10 minutes, then off to exploring the lava flow, snorkeling in lava Kapoho tide pools, Hilo, Akaka falls, always coming back to our comfortable house out, take an outdoor shower, walk around the yard, cocktail in hand, smelling the flowers and fruit trees, and the star gazing was amazing. Our 7 year old got into finding constellations after our visit to the Imilioa Astronomy Center in Hilo. Incredibly, there were no mosquitoes. This is a great place to stay. The owner was more than helpful and honest. The care takers seemed genuinely interested in us having a great vacation. Highly recommend.
