Asheville Area House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Queen sofa bed1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Enjoy views of Moores Pond and Little Pisgah Mountain from this 2 bedroom/one bath Guest House. Recently remodeled, your vacation retreat has a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, wood floor in the living area, central air/heat, and a wood-burning fireplace. Amenities include WiFi, satellite and cable TV, AM/FM, CD, DVD, VCR, Gas outdoor grill, outdoor furniture. A two acre pond is ready for canoeing, sitting and enjoying watching herons and a variety of birds, or feeding the resident Mallards. There are miles of hiking trails in the woods on this 50-acre property, from moderate to strenuous. An additional highlight is that this is a small working farm, with various crops growing in season and a small French Alpine dairy goat herd. Two of our five does had 5 kids in late March (19th and 20th), the other 3 does will kid in early May and early June.

Located in Fairview, only 11 miles southeast of Downtown Asheville (6 miles from city limits) and 6 miles from I-40 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, this private residence is in the country, yet very convenient to the many attractions of the area, including the Biltmore Estate, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock State Park, and (of course) the mountains with their spectacular views, waterfalls, and tourist attractions. Every season has its gifts, from summer festivals and craft fairs to fall color, winter holidays at the Biltmore House, and spring blossoms. There is an Amish Market (bakery, fresh eggs, and other goodies) next door...across the pasture.

Scenic and serene in the Smokies

  • 5 of 5

My family of two adults, two children (ages 8 and 12) and one dog had a wonderful stay in Chuck and Sarah's guest house. The home was clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful with views of the mountains. And the kids (and our dog) were very excited about the animals, especially Little Guy! The kitchen was large and well stocked and there's a grill outside which we did use for dinner in one night. The farm is close to downtown Asheville, which offers great dining, music and art. We were they for 3 nights, but could easily have stayed several more if we had had the time!

Great Visit

  • 5 of 5

We were traveling from Edisto Beach, South Carolina to Asheville to see the Biltmore Estate on our way home. We stayed 2/27/16 - 2/29/16 and would stay longer if in the area again. Great cottage with a warm, comfortable feel. It is updated and the pictures are accurate. The setting is beautiful. It is a great place to relax. Our dog enjoyed walking in the woods and found the goats curious. I had a little trouble paying my second payment (think it was a glitch with PayPal). I was on the road and trying to pay from my IPad from a hotel room. I emailed to request additional time and Chuck was gracious. Fortunately, the website was working properly the next morning and I was able to take care of it. I would be comfortable recommending this VRBO to family and friends.

Thanksgiving Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Lovely property and wonderful hosts. Sarah and Chuck welcome you with farm fresh eggs and a clean, comfy cottage to call home. This was a "half-way" point for us to meet our daughter over the Thanksgiving weekend. We hiked, took in the arts district, a show at Isis and RELAXED! This will be our "go-to" place when visiting Asheville. Plus, there are goats! What more could you want?

1st VRBO Experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO. We usually stay in a hotel or B&B on our vacations. But, after our stay at Moore's pond I am now a huge fan of VRBO. What a different experience! The guest house at Moore's Pond was more like being at home. My husband loved it because of the privacy vs a B&B and the unique setting of staying on a working farm with goats and chickens.

The Kitchen had everything we needed- we loved the toaster- much better than ours at home- it actually toasts evenly. It was nice having the convenience of the Keurig since my husband does not drink coffee and I only wanted 1 cup-- But they also do have a large coffee pot for bigger coffee drinkers. The fresh eggs waiting for us were delicious!. We arrived on a Sunday evening and were sad to learn the Amish store would not open Until Tuesday. Once it was open though- we were there almost every day. So fun to just walk down in less than 5 minutes and buy bread and milk and bacon and butter etc. oh- and the sticky buns are very good!

We hiked the trails on the property and walked the pastures to meet the goats. Met Sarah and Chuck and visited with them - they are so nice and there dog Bela is friendly and loving. We could see the chickens every morning from our back window.

The first night we arrived it was a little tricky finding our way- the roads are curvier than we are used to :) but by the 2nd night we were much more at ease and knew where the sharp turns/ curves would be. One really nice feature is the lights they have strung along there lane to the house. It made it very easy to spot from a distance in the dark.

My favorite thing was looking out the patio door window every morning and seeing the gorgeous mountains- sometimes dappled in sunlight and other times blanketed with fog.

We hope to return in the future and thank Sarah and Chuck for sharing there property with us. So much better than the last time we visited Asheville and stayed in a hotel.

Perfect autumn retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to stay if you want a quiet country escape to enjoy the fall colors. We stayed at the peak of fall colors, and the property was gorgeous. There were farm-fresh eggs waiting for us upon our arrival, and they were some of the best eggs we ever had, especially with some fresh Amish bread and butter from the quaint Amish market, which is a short walk from the property. Chuck was a great host (Sarah was out of town the weekend we stayed). Chuck taught us about the goats and was happy to let us explore the property. He also suggested a hike to the waterfalls at DuPont State Park, which turned out to be the highlight of our trip. We also went to the Biltmore which was an easy drive. If you are an animal lover, it is great fun to walk to the the barn and pet the goats and barn kitty. The pond and general setting couldn't be more beautiful. The Guest House was immaculate and very well equipped with everything we needed, including wi-fi and a nice television and cable. The kitchen was beautiful and had all the necessary utensils to cook meals, and the bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets in the closet. There were many thoughtful touches, such as a dog bed for guests who bring a furry friend (we didn't, but thought it was a nice gesture). Though we didn't build a fire, firewood and a starter log were available. We really loved our stay in this idyllic setting and are already contemplating a return trip, this time in the spring to see the baby goats and the spring gardens at the Biltmore.

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. Owners were friendly and helpful.

Only complaints were that the water had a bad smell and caused stains in toilet, tub and sinks. Also the house was a bit drafty, but that was resolved by turning up the heat and adding a blanket.

Over all we'd stay here again.

Owner's Response: Well water is always different from chlorinated city water. Good thing is it does not have all the bad stuff that city water has ...the discolor is high iron, a rust color, but not harmful. Sorry they did not ask.
