I grew up in North West Houston and around 15 years ago I moved to the Kemah/Clearlake area and never looked back. People seem to be more laid back and friendly in this area. The Kemah/Clearlake area is one of the 3 largest boating capitals in the United States so if you enjoy power boating or sail boating this is a nice place to live. This area is also very popular with antique car collectors, motorcycle enthusiast and has live entertainment at restaurants and bars. The list goes on and on of things to see and do in this area.
Charlie purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Charlie chose Bacliff
I purchased this home from an architect. It is my understanding this home had a small fire and the architect spent sereral years restoring the home. This guy had great attention to detail and is an antique lover. Every where you look you will see interesting antique fixtures, with solid hardwood floors that came out of estate homes and ceiling beams though out the home. I fell in love with the home because it is so unique. Actually I purchased the home for myself and have lived in it the last 4 years. This is why the home is nicely furnished, well equipped and feels like home.
What makes this Cottage unique
This property is very comfortable, charming, romantic, and cozy, and private from the street. If you have pets this is the vacation rental you want to book. Your pet will love the front and back covered patio and the cute backyard which is fully fenced. Guess What? 'No Pet Charge' That is a huge savings. The things to do and places to go are endless all within 15-20 mins from the cottage. If you book I know you will enjoy your stay.

This little piece of heaven was perfect for our weekend getaway. Very pleased
This little cottage was very cozy & we loved everything about it. We spent most of our time out on the back porch area which was covered & very relaxing. We would love to visit this place again. The attention to detail in the decorating to the wooden beams in the ceilings was awesome. We absolutely loved this place. Very quiet neighborhood as well! I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful little getaway.
Great family get away.
We ready enjoyed the house.
A diamond in the rough!!! You won’t be disappointed!!
loved, loved, loved this cottage!! Had reservations at first because we’ve always stayed in hotels but all that went away once we opened the doors to the cottage! Charlie was very helpful and was always easy to reach! The house was immaculate! I am a supervisor of a hotel and cleanliness is the first thing I look for. We will definitely be staying here when we come back to Galveston. The cottage was cool when we arrived. Didn’t have to buy many things because she took care of just about everything you can think of! Thank you Charlie for paying attention to all the little things!
I have received many wonderful reviews but I still get so tickled when I receive another. Thank you so much Jeremy.
We noticed that you had a lot of Coca Cola antiques. Just wanted you to know that our grandfather Les Kouba is the artist who did the most current Coca Cola logo many years ago while in Atlanta, Georgia. He is deceased now but could draw the logo upside down as so many people wanted him to autograph the logo. It was fun seeing all the antiques.
Wow! Teresa that's amazing that your grandfather is responsible for creating such a time less logo. So glad you enjoyed the antiques not everyone has an n appreciation for them. Thanks again, Sharlene

Really enjoyed my stay at the cottage. It was clean and I had everything I needed for my stay. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again! The cottage is also a very, cute and quaint house.
I really liked that it was also close to Kemah and Galveston.
Home away from home
This was my second stay, and loved it just as much. Clean, cozy, lots of room, and every amenity you could ask for! Look forward to next time. Thanks, Sharlene!
The Kemah Cottage is just a few blocks from Galveston Bay, 5 minutes to the Kemah Boardwalk. A 15 minute drive to Galveston Island and Moody Gardens. It is very close to the NASA Space Center and about 20 min. from Hobby Airport. A 30 minute drive to Downtown Houston.
The Kemah Boardwalk offers Holiday Events for every season as well as Fireworks every Friday night Rock the Dock and Jazz Fest offering live music with well know performers in Texas. There are 9 popular restaurants to choose from and lots of shopping. You and your family will enjoy the huge amusement park featuring the Bullet Roller Coaster, the Boardwalk Beast (one extreme boat ride) and the water fountain. Children love to play in it all day. There is a train that will take you from one end of the boardwalk to the other. You can spend a few days eating, shopping and looking at many power boats and sail boats coming from Clear Lake into the Galveston Bay from the boardwalk.
You can pick up a Magazine called the Scene at any local restaurant or bar. This magazine will let you know about everything that is going on in the area.
