Beautiful Chalet located in the scenic Adirondack Mountains open year round.
In the summer enjoy 470' of beach/dock rights, swimming & fishing. Minutes from many other lakes & ponds, hiking, mountain climbing, etc.
In the winter Gore Mountain is just 20 minutes away and other major ski areas within approx. 1 hour (including Lake Placid). There is also cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and more.
In the fall there is hunting & the most beautiful fall foliage you'll ever see.
In the spring enjoy white water rafting on the upper Hudson river (just 10 minutes away) or just enjoy a spring get away.
This week has gone by so quickly! I wish I had more time, but we had so much fun! I can’t wait to come back again. I did so much swimming. We swam a lot & went on some fun rides. We had a great time & hope to come back next year.
So glad we were able to stay in your beautiful home in the woods on Loon Lake last week. Everything was perfect, loved the peace and quiet on the lake and being close enough to other sites. In our 4 short days we visited Lake George, Lake Placid, the Wild Center at Tupper Lake, hiked Kipp Mt., Prospect Mt. and Mt. J o and rented a boat and SUP on Loon Lake. Needed a few more days to fit in more activities, more hikes and boat rides.
Thank you for letting us stay at your home, it was equipped with everything we needed.
The home was beautiful, clean and spacious. Loved the screened in deck! The lake was just a short walk down the road, where we swam and kayaked. We went parasailing on Lake George, white water rafting on the Sacandaga Lake...both less than 30 minutes away. There a ton of activities to take advantage of, or you can just relax. We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to returning.
My friends and I had never done this before, rented a Chalet, and didn't know what to expect. The Chalet is well stocked as Ms. Green describes. We had a wonderful time and became a little melancholy when it was time to leave, and we were only there for three days! Everyplace is a pretty quick ride; we went on the Garnet Mine Tour and walked the Stone Bridge and Caves. Even if it's summer wear hiking boots or sneakers, something to enclose your feet. We had dinner at O. P. Fredericks - delicious. We had dinner at Basil and Wicks - good, and at the Bulls Head - no complaints, it was good. On our last day we had breakfast at Marshy's - no complaints. From the reviews I read, no one mentioned the stars. OMgoodness absolutely beautiful. As James Taylor sings, "they put on a show for free." The house was clean, furniture was comfortable and we had lots of room inside and out. Water was hot, heat was great. I would definitely recommend the Chalet to friends and family. We're already planning to return.
Our stay at the Chalet was no short of amazing. Upon arrival the home was clean and ready to be occupied. We had 8 adults in our party. It was a 3.5 hour drive from Manhattan and totally worth it. The amount of time the Greens have spent to decorate and maintain this house shows. We were in love with the rustic and thought out decor which made the stay even more enjoyable. The front porch was used for evening BBQs and through the trees we could see the Fireworks on the lake. The lake access is about a 3-5 minute walk and totally worth it. Life jackets are available in the basement of the house which we carried over to the lake and had a blast. There is a platform out in the lake which you can swim to and jump into the water. It is also very convenient to go to Lake George - we visited Hague and Bolton Landing. The washing machine and dryer in the basement make staying here even more convenient. We hope to visit again. Thanks for an amazing stay.
The house was in a very nice condition, however we got the impression from the listing that this was a lakefront property, which it is not. The house has lake rights, but the actual beach is a five minute walk across a street. We did enjoy our stay, however this house was really not suited for our family with three children (ages 6,4 and 1) who did not have any area to play in outside.
Train ride along upper Hudson river, white-water rafting, Stone Bridge & Caves, horse-back riding, Adirondack Extreme Adventures,Garnet mines, Dynamite Hill for rope tow free skiing/sledding/skating, Hudson River Rafting Co.
