Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)
About Paula Caproni
We live in the cold snowy Midwest and we are big believers in vacations! We have been the sole owners of this cottage and have taken excellent care of it for our guests ever since. We come to the cottages with family and friends. Sometimes we use both cottages together, and we stay in one cottage and our friends stay in the other cottage (we also own Key Lime next door VRBO 33828). Unfortunately, we can't be there all the time, so we're happy that our guests can enjoy them when we're not there!
Paula Caproni purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Paula Caproni chose Seacrest
We decided to buy our first Cottage, Ahhh The Good Life, at the Cottages at Camp Creek because we loved the location, as well as the charm, of the community. It is a quiet community - perfect for families, away from the busier and high-traffic communities, yet close enough to anything we need - Publix, gas stations, restaurants, coffee shops, children's playgrounds and beautiful parks and walks at Alys beach, Rosemary Beach with everything it offers, and the the 13-mile walking/biking trail across the street). We spend most of our time at the quiet uncrowded beach with stunning sunsets across the street, at the very big pool (I like swimming laps every morning that I'm there and we all like relaxing on floats and reading magazines/books), and dining or relaxing on the large covered porch (it's really nice to be on the covered porch when it's raining). We also appreciate having a separate cottage rather than an attached condo because of the privacy and quiet (for example, you don't hear people upstairs or through the walls), as well as how light-filled the cottage because of the many windows surrounding the cottage (which you don't get in an attached condo). We feel VERY lucky to have found our cottages at the Cottages at Camp Creek.
What makes this Cottage unique
We do everything we can to make our cottages feels like fully furnished and equipped beach homes rather than rentals. We make sure the furniture, bedding, and everything else is charming, comfortable, and high quality. Our guests always notice that we pay attention to the details. The books, games, movies, puzzles ensure you always have something to do, even on rainy days. The pool is huge for a small community - I love swimming laps in the pool in the morning in the summer and floating around the pool or sitting in the hot tub at night watching the stars come out one by on). The beach is awesome - I love taking a book to the beach and just reading for hours. We fish from the beach and have caught red fish, pompano, and white fish for dinner. We enjoy the short walk to Alys Beach (with the coffee shop, Charlie's donut truck and George's casual restaurant with the best grouper sandwiches and fish tacos). When not at the pool or beach, we rest on the covered porch and love the way it feels during a rainstorm as well. Our guests (and we) really appreciate the low traffic in this area for safety and ease of getting around, especially in the peak seasons when we want to avoid the bumper to bumper traffic in some of the busier beach communities - what a relief to not have to deal with traffic! Frankly, we love everything about the cottage, the charming Cottages at Camp Creek, and this beautiful area.

We had a wonderful stay at this clean and well stocked cabin. The walk down to the beach (with 3 kids) was very doable. The beach was lovely and the surrounding area had lots of great restaurants and fun family-friendly activities. We were first timers to the area and Paula (the home owner) was especially helpful in giving us helpful tips and great recommendations on restaurants. We loved our time and hope to return!
Thank you for your kind review! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Key Lime and the lovely beach. That's always our goal for our guests - a great stay and wonderful memories. I'm glad you had everything you needed in the cottage because we want you to have an easy vacation so that you can completely relax and simply enjoy yourself and your family. And, I hope your kids (and you) enjoyed the puzzles, games, and books. I hope you come back to Key Lime or try out our other cottage next door - the Good Life. I wish you all the best!
Really nice stay in a great cottage at a great location.
Overall this is a great place to stay. Proximity to the beach and position on 30-A can't be beat with regards to being close to everything.
Interior was clean and well appointed. Very comfortable and room enough for our family. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. I found a great read amongst the selection of books available. Like many people, we needed the internet access during our trip and the speed was sufficient for our needs.
A few minor gripes
-Cottages at Camp Creek is very easy to drive past on the way back to the cabin. Side streets all look the same in this stretch and the 'Cottages at Camp Creek' sign isn't highly visible from the road.
-King size bed needs a new mattress - the pillow top on this one is worn out.
-some knobs on stacked washer/dryer are broken - the machine is still useable, but somewhat problematic
-vacuum cleaner for renter use is missing attachments.
-there are lists of cable channels next to the TVs that in no way confer the actual selection of channels.
Again, these are all minor issues that did not detract from our enjoyment of the trip. If you're looking for nicely kept accommodations close the the beach for your family. This is a good place to stay.
The cottage was wonderful and it was only a short walk to the beach. The stairs getting down to the beach were much shorter (not as steep) than those in the surrounding area. This was a big help with older ones who have trouble walking.
My Dream Spot!
This cottage was perfect in all ways! It was so well outfitted with everything I could want - kitchen gear, comfy bedding, beach gear, books, and a strong internet connection. My favorite spot, when not on the stunning beach, just a quick 4-5 minute walk away, was the covered from porch, a bonus outdoor living space. I loved the tropical feel, the friendliness of the neighborhood, and the close proximity to great restaurants, a coffee shop, and fun neighborhoods to explore.
Paula was terrific to work with and without missing a beat pulled off a small miracle when I arrived with an unexpected need requiring immediate attention. I was lucky enough to meet Paula and Bill and left with new friends. Thank you for everything, including the fresh caught Pompano dinner! I’m already counting down to my next visit.
Thanks for your kind review! I'm so glad that the cottage, community, and beach made you happy (and very relaxed). That's our goal! The covered porch is indeed a great place to relax (and get a little bit of work done on the Internet if you have to do some work while at the cottage). It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Yes, the pompano dinner was tasty, and Bill caught some white fish, red fish, and more pompano during our stay. We were able to freeze some pompano right after Bill caught it and bring it home frozen in the cooler in the car to eat later. The sunsets from the beach are indeed mesmerizing. You were a wonderful guest, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again next year. Thanks again for taking the time to write about your experience at The Good Life. Paula
We loved it!!
This cottage was perfect. Our family of 2 adults and 3 small children stayed here and it had everything we could want and more. There was a bookshelf of kid books that my kids used all week long. A big thermos container was perfect for the beach. Lots of beach toys. The back deck was lovely. The whole location of the cottage grouping was fantastic, as they're all situated around a pool. I underestimated just HOW great it would be to have a pool a few steps away. We were there daily. We hope to return someday!
Thank you for your wonderful review! And, more importantly, thank you for staying at the Good Life and trusting us with your family's vacation. We realize that time together is precious, and we're glad the cottage (and the books - we update them regularly so they stay fresh and new for both children and adults) and location helped everyone have a great vacation. Yes, that pool is pretty awesome - very large for the size of the community - and, we, too enjoy the covered porch very much. We hope you come to the Good Life again for a future vacation. We'll take good care of you!
Third time vacationing at The Good Life
This was my third time renting The Good Life cottage! Needless to say we love this place. I go to the nearby Publix and stock up on groceries and we are set. It's always completely stocked, spotlessly clean and the pool is beautiful and peaceful!
The weather was perfect and we walked the short distance to the beach both days. We set up a canopy and enjoyed the beach with my son, daughter in law and grandkids, age 6 and 2.
We're actually going back in September and we're going to rent Key Lime this time...I'm sure it will be great, also!
I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Paula. She makes the comfort of her guests her top priority!
My family and I will be returning as often as we can!
It was great meeting you as well. I'm happy that you and your family have such a good time at the cottage. Your appreciation of the cottage and the area certainly bring good vibes to the cottage and the area! I enjoyed seeing you melt onto the couch soon after you arrived. I hope we cross paths again, and just let me know if there's anything you need that's not already at the cottage.
Our cottages (we also own Key Lime next door) are an easy 4-5 minute walk to a beautiful white-sand beach with lovely sunsets and are within walking distance of Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach where you'll find restaurants, shops, outdoor entertainment (including free concerts and movies during the peak summer season). Although we have a lovely quiet beach across the street and a BIG pool in our community here at the Cottages at Camp Creek, we also have the pleasure of being with 1/2 mile of the community of Alys Beach that has restaurants, a coffee shop, a play yard (play houses and hills) for children, amphitheater with movies/concerts/more during certain seasons/weekends, and a walking trail through the native environment for those who want to see what the area looked like before construction. We are also about 1 mile away from the community of Rosemary Beach that also has restaurants as well as shops, coffee shops, a spa, bike and beach equipment rentals, and more. Even though all of this is nearby, we tend to spend our time at the beach, at the pool, or relaxing/dining on our fully furnished porch!
