Large rental with 3 floors and 3 bedrooms combines old charm of 403 year old home and modern touches
Nice location just a few blocks from bridge to heart of touristy heart of Cochem restaurants and shops. Lots of room including basement to store bikes and parking space a couple blocks away. Rent bikes for just 9 euros for 24 hours and head down the mosel river on bike paths.
Excellent apartment near the Mosel River
We had a wonderful time in Cochem. The apartment is beautifully decorated, and equipped. Plenty of room for a family of 4. Lovely historic building and gorgeous yard in the back. The owner is very responsive and prompt. She even left some fruit for us to enjoy. I would love to go back in the summer. Thank you, Katrin and Alex.
A wonderful experience we look forward to repeating!
The property had an old world charm we really liked, with all the modern conveniences. The property was well maintained and very clean. The kitchen, the appliances, the cookware and utensils were all clean and everything we desired for cooking was furnished and worked well. A bonus was laundry facilities in the basement. We liked being in a quiet area only a block from the river and beautiful night views of the castle. Yet we were still only a 15 minute walk from the city center. We would definitely stay here again on a return to Cochem.
Charming historical house in great location
Our family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at this property for 2 weeks in July 2016 for family vacation, exploring the picturesque Mosel region by foot, bicycle, boat, and car. Living in the US, we were looking for a property that is not cooky-cutter, and this house certainly fits the bill, being 400 years old, half-timbered, connected to a church tower, and with a wine cellar for a basement. Despite its historical charm, the building is not lacking in modern amenities and equipment - a modern bath, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, and reasonably fast wireless internet access. The place was spotless. The owner is taking great pride in her property, and she is very pleasant to interact with and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are not very large and the staircase is fairly steep, but those are unavoidable consequence of renting a historical property. We certainly didn't mind (but the place is not for someone who cannot walk stairs comfortably and who needs expansive space).
The location within the town of Cochem is great - out of the main town center with its hoard of tourists, close to the river, in a quiet side street, yet within easy walking distance to everything in town. The view from the top floor across the river directly onto Cochem castle (Reichsburg) is amazing! The town of Cochem is centrally located along the most picturesque stretch of the Mosel river, and is well suited for exploring the region, with its varied tourist attractions. We very much enjoyed our vacation in the area.
The tenth house is located on the sunny side of Cochem in Cond district overlooking the Cochem castle. From here you are in a few minutes in the old town or you conquer the delightful surroundings of the Mosel, the Hunsrück or Eifel.
