Without repeating all the positive aspects of Alain's apartment as described in the other reviews, I will try to describe our experience at this gem of an apartment in a great location and neighborhood we found to give us an excellent feel for “living the dream” in Paris for a week. Alain's cafe was a great introduction to the Parisienne experience, along with a great cup of Americana coffee, seafood salad and the pains au chocolat. There are many stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. Beside Bon Marche and the grand epicerie, there's a butcher, fish monger, many great boutique stores, chocolatiers, florists, tailor, and many other services found in large cities. Right next to Carrefour City(local supermarket) is another little shop which has good meals to go. We had the chicken and potatoes and that was just fine with a good price. Some days there's a Farmer's Market right outside of these two stores. Only a few steps away and around the corner is the Chapelle Notre-Dame De La Medaille Miraculeuse, where Sainte Catherine Laboure had her miraculous experience. She is an incorruptible saint who lies within the church. Alain's studio is a great find and I'm sure you'll love it as we did. We are two Americans in our middle sixties and really liked the idea that the metro was right there, which brought us to every major sight. Merci, Alaine. You were very helpful!
My husband and I had a wonderful two weeks staying at Alain's studio apartment. It was our 42nd anniversary. The location is excellent. It's a safe area across the street from two metro lines 10 and 12 and the famous Bon Marche department store & next is La Grand Epicerie with gourmet groceries and La Maison du Chocotal among other wonderful bakeries and restaurants. The apartment is very secure up one flight of stairs or take the elevator. Alain lives in the building and checks in to see if everything is ok or if we needed anything. He's a real gentleman. The studio is spacious with a queen-size bed & sofa bed. It has a table for four, a four burner stove, microwave & all pans, etc. you need for cooking. There is one room with a toilet & washbowl and another room with a shower & washbowl. The TV has four USA channels & you can call to the U.S. on the landline for free. There's a large closet & shelves for hanging up & storing clothes. An ironing board, iron & towel warmer were in the apt. We're so glad that we stayed here instead of a small hotel room where we could cook some of our meals and have space to move around. Thank you Alain for giving us a wonderful time at your apartment.
We spent a week in this apartment and found it as advertised. Alain was a wonderful host, very personable and helpful with all aspects of our stay and quite knowledgeable too, a very interesting man to talk with.
The location was excellent, convenient, with a metro station across the street, walking distance from most tourist areas, safe, quiet, secure and with a small elevator. There is a grocery store a short walk away and lots of shops and restaurants. The WiFi was excellent.
Alain made arrangements for Patrick to meet us at the airport - this is the only way to arrive!
We would use it again as it is good value for Paris.
Clean, comfortable, convenient and secure are just a few words that describe the apartment. We able to get anywhere in Paris from the Metro station directly across the street. We felt safe walking to the nearby restaurants in the evenings. Our host Alain made arrangements for our pick up at the airport, met us at the front door provided insights and directions to the nearby grocery store, restaurants, and shops. Alain checked in with us a few days later to follow up and make sure everything was going ok and if we needed anything. On a personal note, I want to thank you Alain for all your help. I enjoyed our conversations and stories that we shared. We hope to return and renew our friendship. Two weeks was not enough time to share your beautiful city.
My wife and I and a couple of adult children stayed here for 3 days I must say that this place is big enough for us. It is a studio but basically comes with everything, free Wi-Fi and cable TV included but who has the time to watch when you are in Paris. My wife and daughter were ecstatic to find a flat iron hair straightener among other things. Needless to say that the kitchen is big enough and also comes with all the basic necessities as well. The suite is located in a very secure and very quiet building. Metro stop that connects you all over Paris is right across the building, nearby restaurants abound heck there is one downstairs owned by Alain. If you want to do your own cooking, grocery store is a 5 min walk (Carrefour) or just cross the street for high end grocery shopping. Distance to the river should you choose to walk is roughly 15 mins. The owner Alain took good care of our every needs including setting up our airport transportation. Shout out to Patrick for being the nicest driver in Paris! We really love this area and would go back again.
This apartment was perfect for our family of 4 during our 3 night visit to Paris. Alain was so helpful, and arranged for airport pick up with Patrick and dropped us at the apartment where he was waiting. The apartment is in a great location right across from Bon marche and just a couple blocks to more reasonably priced Carrefour. Tons of restaurants/cafe's nearby. Walkable to most major attractions made it easy for us with a short stay. Alain even called the car rental company on my behalf to straighten something out I couldn't manage with my limited French. All in all, a great stay at a great location and very reasonably priced. Thanks Alain!
