Charming Mountain Cabin Nestled in the Pines and Dogwoods near Santa's Village

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,400 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 maximum

If you dream of getting away to the mountains, you have already envisioned our beautiful peaceful and quiet cabin. Skyforest, the Bel Air of Lake Arrowhead, is heavily forested with charming homes on large lots hidden among the hundred-year-old pines and Dogwood trees. There are nearby trails to enjoy the natural beauty and abundant wildlife in one of the most breathtaking locations in the San Bernardino mountains -- and a favorite place for people who prefer to be more secluded. We are located about one mile from the re-opened SkyPark at Santa's Village.

This spacious 1400 square foot home is loaded with charm --every room has it own view out to the forest with hardly another residence in sight. The living room walls are solid wood panels, and lodge-style vaulted ceilings with timber cross support beams create a rustic feel. A TV with DVD/VCR player provide entertainment. If you prefer music, you can play the old fashioned AM/FM radio. The cabin is stocked with books and magazines for a lazy afternoon as well as games and puzzles for family bonding or an evening in for two. The charming kitchen has wood countertops and glass cabinet doors and is well stocked with all the utensils and cookware you need to feel right at home. You can pick up your groceries at a nearby market or bring them with you.

There is a large outdoor deck with beautiful views of the trees. Furnished with a picnic table and chairs, you can relax with a cup of coffee in the morning or sip a glass of wine at sunset and enjoy the tranquil, natural surroundings while you watch the squirrels scurry from tree to tree. An occasional coyote, bobcat, or bear may wander by so keep your camera ready! A large BBQ gas grill on the deck provides for great cook out opportunities.

The master bedroom suite located on the second floor, looks down over the living room through French doors and a balcony railing. The master bedroom has a queen bed which sleeps two people comfortably. The master bath includes a jetted tub, natural travertine stone and granite countertops.

The second bedroom, which sleeps two in the queen size bed, has a small deck right outside its door with a charming view of a forested country road.

The third bedroom/den and cozy 'writers' retreat' has a twin bed and trundle, desk and inspiring views from a large corner window that looks out on the forest and several hundred year old trees. Two twin size blow up air mattresses with bedding are stored in the closet.

The ground level bath and shower has been remodeled with natural travertine stone. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer available for your use.

Delightful cabin - great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful experience at this cabin. Comfortable, homey, well-appointed and maintained, it was a great mountain getaway before we started the school year with our 2nd-grade daughter. My only regret (entirely my fault) is not using the spacious deck and deck chairs enough! Added bonus: the cabin is easy walking distance to Lou Eddie's Pizza, one of the most popular eateries around with its own tap room on the lower level. On top of everything, Carol and Tim (the owners) were incredibly quick to respond via email when we had a couple *very minor* questions before and during our stay. It was our first Lake Arrowhead-area visit as a family, and we would certainly stay at this same cabin again without question - we highly recommend. Thanks for having us!

I have been coming to the San Bernardino mountains regularly since the early 60's as a child. I have grown to love them and am always on the hunt for a cabin that brings back those memories; not too old, definitely not too new! Tim and Carol's place fit the bill to a T. We always hold our breath when we approach our rentals. (You'd be amazed what good photography can accomplish in blocking out neighbors, etc.) But there were no surprises here except happy ones! It is off the beaten path very near the national forest but easy access to the road (without traffic noise!) and Lake Arrowhead. It was built in the 40's and they have done a beautiful job of modernizing it (windows and doors and decking) yet maintaining the integrity of the old charm. There are many flat roadways to wander and all you will hear is the wind through the tall trees, birds and woodpeckers and little chipmunks teasing our dog. Yes! Our dog was a welcome guest! We spent our awake hours with the many french doors wide open and slept with every window open as well. We walked for coffee, drove to Twin Peaks for dinner at the Grill at Antler Inn (a gem of a restaurant about 15 minutes away!) and spent hours doing a puzzle on the coffee table in the living room. We took our coffee out on the deck and meals on the picnic table. Our dog sat and listened to nature, chased squirrels up the trees and slept for two days when we got home! The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were great and the beds very comfortable. We had a touch of wet weather Saturday night and lit a fire but left the front door open to enjoy the rare sound of rain! It was just perfect. Tim and Carol, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your place. We most definitely will back.

Fun in the forest

  • 5 of 5

I looked for three days at hundreds of cabin rentals trying to find just the right spot. I was taking my girlfriend and her parents up to the mountains for a short vacation, and since it was the first time her parents had ever been to Arrowhead I wanted it to be perfrect. After a few days in the cabin there was one very troubling problem that presented itself... we had to leave it and go back to our normal lives!

This cabin was perfect. From the seclusion of it in the woods, far enough away from other cabins that you felt you were you were truely alone and away from it all. To the beautiful and rustic decor and amenities that allowed us to feel like we were roughing it.... without actually having to c:

One of the big bonuses for me was the ease of the rental process. Carol and Tim make it super easy to settle in to the cabin and feel at home, without imposing a laundry list of rules and regulations on you preventing you from really enjoying your rental. It felt like friends were loaning us the cabin for a few days rather then a business transaction.

Lastly, and ceraintly not least was the value. For the same cost I was finding one bedroom cabins for, we got this amazing three bedroom monster! Spacious and afordible to say the least, with a location that would rival anything in the area.

I can't say enough about how happy this rental made all of us. Thank you Tim and Carol, and expect to be seeing us again as soon!!!!

Wonderful Experience!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely vacation at Tim and Carol's beautiful cabin! The location is perfection! Close to shops restaurants, lakes and yet quietly nestled in the trees. Beds were comfortable, the house was very well kept, nicely decorated, perfectly stocked and everything we needed was provided. It was a pleasure dealing with them and we see this as the first of many visits! Thank you!!

Many Visits

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed this quiet and very comfortable getaway cabin in the woods for 4 years in a row, so yes we are hooked! A most peaceful and relaxing setting, yet close to two lakes. Long walks around Lake Gregory, 15 minutes away, or Lake Arrowhead, 5 minutes away. Less than 6 minutes to the Heaps Peak Arboretum where we saw a 6-point deer this year. Good variety of restaurants in the area, and a great BBQ at the cabin when eating in. We are never disappointed, comfortable beds, blue sky, gray squirrels, Stellar's Jays, and nice breezes in those trees! Very relaxing cabin with no lake boat noises morning or night. We'll be back again next year for another weeks visit.

Car: necessary

Take a short five minute drive to Lake Arrowhead Village where you can enjoy restaurants, shopping, summertime concerts, and the beautiful Lake Arrowhead with a boat tour. The town of Blue Jay is also about a five minute drive where you will find many amenities - groceries, movie theater, restaurants, and shopping. In the winter months, you can sled and play in the snow in the immediate area. Skiing/snowboarding is a short 20 minutes
