Perfect home with all the details!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great experience! The homeowner was very responsive with my email inquiries which helped kick off a great rental experience! The home itself was beautifully appointed and charming. And the details were all there! The kitchen included everything you needed, the linen closet was stocked with plush towels, and the firewood was plenty! This is a great home for a Pocono retreat because it's close enough to the ski resorts, but situated in a rural area that's nestled in the woods. PERFECT!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on our home. We are delighted to here you had a pleasant experience and enjoyed your visit. We try to ensure the house is continually stocked with the items we would want in the home if we were living there full time and the secluded location is something we enjoy as well. Again, thank you for writing such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests and hope we see you again in the future.

Perfect house and area to stay

  • 5 of 5

I really loved the place. I will definitively come back, as the house and rooms were mint. We used the gas grill, and the tank was full. The deck was huge, and yard was huge enough so my 2 small dogs have space to run and play.

Perfect stay in my and my friends opinion.

A great home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed at stay at this property. We had our 20-mo child with us and were thrilled to see plenty of toys available, and a crib set up in the master bedroom. There are also board games, puzzles, and cards for adults. Upon our arrival, everything was presented well kept and clean. The best part, in my opinion, is the nature surrounding the house. A small pond out back has lots of frogs which sunbath and then jump back in the water once you get too close! A playground rests on a hill just next to that, and there's even a short trail that provides a nice quiet walk among the trees.

Beautiful home in the woods

  • 3 of 5

The house was just as described. It was stocked with the necessities. I am only giving three stars due to the fact that we have used vrbo for over 8 years and this is the first time we have had someone waiting for us at the bottom of the driveway as we were leaving one day to question us on our electricity usage (we left the porch light on all night and all day). For the rest of our time there we felt as though we were being watched, not a good feeling.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the review. We are sorry to hear you had a negative experience by being asked about leaving the lights on in the house during your stay. I'm sure you might be able to empathise with us if the situation were reversed. Leaving the downstairs lights and the outside lights on during your entire 6 night stay causes us a great deal of additional expense in our electricity. When you combine that extra expense with the discount we so kindly gave you for your stay, we did not feel it would be inappropriate to ask if everything was alright in the house or if there were something wrong for you to feel you had to leave all the lights on for your 6 days. Even though we wish we were in a position to rent our home for charity and not to cover the expenses in running the home, we unfortunately are not. We were aware at the time you did not like being questioned about the excessive electricity usage at our home by your rude response. Perhaps if the interaction could have been handled in a more positive, conciliatory manner you would not have had that feeling your remaining stay. Perhaps, it would be helpful for future home renters to be informed of your habit of leaving all the lighting on in the homes you are staying in before making your reservation, that way instead of being kind and giving you and the rest of your group a discount for staying in the home, they can adjust their rates accordingly to cover the extra electricity expenses. We do regret you did not have a good feeling the remainder of your stay, but I can conclude by saying that feeling was mutual.
