The Vintage cottage was a wonderful spot for our family of 4 celebrating my husband's birthday. From the board games to the fully stocked kitchen, it felt as though all of our needs were anticipated. The view of the lake is perfect. The only drawback is the fact that the only bathroom is located on the first level and the bedrooms are upstairs and, because the house is over 100 years old, the staircase is very steep. As such, seniors or anyone with knee issues may have some difficulty. Otherwise, I highly recommend this beautiful property.
This was a quick getaway for my family and friends. Mark and David were great! This place everything you could imagine and then some. Beautiful cottage and a beautiful view of Lake Pepin. We will be back!
A fine gathering spot for our teen grandchildren and parents visiting from Arizona, with midwest relatives. This house provided the setting for a wonderful family gathering with multiple places to sit and chat, play games, and watch the birds and boats on the river/lake. Caretakers have thought of everything, and the property was move-in ready. Wonderful views of the water, proximity to town to walk the marina and browse the shops. Toured the Eagle Ctr. and ate lunch at Nelson Creamery (a hidden gem) across the Wabasha bridge. Saw Lark Toys and went to a movie in Red Wing. Ate family breakfast at Chickadee Cottage. Very easy to get around the towns along the river and all have that "hometown" feel. Only drawback was that traffic going by the cottage, was heavy on a lovely summer weekend. The house more than made up for this negative aspect, and you are able to close the windows/ shutters on that side. We salute the owner and caretakers for offering such a fine product at a very fair price.
We had a wonderful time! The view of Lake Pepin is spectacular. The cottage was neat and clean. Many hours were spent around a fire on the patio. This was a return trip for us and want to go again next year. Mark & Shayna are wonderful to work with.
Most excellent stay with most excellent views of Lake Pepin. Home is close to downtown and walking is a pleasure. Everything needed was right there. Use of BBQ (gas) grill was welcomed. Watching Sunrises over Lake Pepin and bluffs was wonderful. All the comforts of home too. Able to access WiFi and Cable TV easily. The only slight drawback is only one bathroom on main level with bedrooms upstairs.. Especially liked the decor and the two sitting rooms. Favorite was the all window lakeside room. Would certainly recommend and consider return.
We are innkeepers in Hannibal, Mo, and can go weeks on end without a day off. When I saw a gap in our book, we decided to get away, and luckily this property happened to be available with only a few days notice. The property is just absolutely adorable, great view of the lake, lovely decor, everything one needs for a pleasant stay. I could have sat in the sunroom all day. We wish we could have stayed longer. The only thing I would say is that the stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms are very steep. Could be problematic for some, but it was fine for us. Would definitely return.
A rainy day option could be Treasure Island Casino which is a 28 mile drive along the river. There is also a new bowling alley just blocks away! Or, check out the Eagle Center just 15 minutes south in Wabasha.
