This gorgeous custom built Eureka log home is roughly 3,000 square feet and has 3 California King sized beds in three large separate bedrooms, 4 extra long twin beds in the loft area. The master suite is downstairs and there are two bedrooms and one large bathroom upstairs. The home was built in 1998 and features a very dramatic 30 foot vault that words do not properly describe.

This log home is incredibly open inside with two Big Country wood stoves in one gigantic great room that is open from kitchen to dining room to the two living rooms. It is truly an artisan home and has craftsmanlike features thru out. From the huge earth slate kitchen to the gigantic river rock fireplace to the 5 foot wide Wolf stove you will certainly feel right at home as soon as you step foot inside.

The home is also just minutes away from the airport, the town of Whitefish, the ski area, numerous lakes and golf courses and yet you feel completely lost at a secluded lodge when you drive into the home at the back of ten acres and across the street from over 1,000 acres of state owned land. The house sits on the rear corner of a ten acre lot surrounded by woods in all directions with no other home visible from the very quiet and oh so relaxing massive front porch.

The home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a total of four sinks (two in each bathroom), three toilets (two in one bathroom and one in the master bathroom) a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath and a separate shower in the master bathroom and a combo tub/shower in the upstairs bathroom.

The home has a lodge like feel with a huge vaulted common area that is 30 feet tall and also boasts a very large deck on three of the four sides of the home. There is Wi-Fi for Internet access and two of the three bedrooms have TVs (High Def 42" plasma in mstr w/surround snd/43" Hgh Def flat screen upstairs) with Blueray/DVD/Netflix ect. and 200 channels of satellite. I purposely do not have a tv out in the common area because that is not why you are up there. I try to create an environment for families and friends to commune over the days adventures or recalling memories of fun past stories or a quiet environment to read and relax in.

It is very conveniently located off of Fwy 93 and to FCA airport, 10 minutes to downtown Whitefish, 15 minutes to downtown Kalispell, 20 to 30 minutes to Whitefish Mountain Ski Area and 40 minutes to Glacier National Park.

The home is surrounded by forested land and you will be just across the street from about 1,000 acres of state owned wilderness. What this means to you and your family and friends is total privacy! In the summer you are within 20 minutes of Glacier International Airport, 40 minutes from Glacier National Park, 10 minutes to Big Mountain Golf Course, 10 to Whitefish Golf Courses, 10 minutes to the Whitefish Lake or 30 to the Whitefish Ski Resort. You can walk or mountain bike for miles right from the front door. Or, if you would rather come home and just curl up and watch a movie there is a 42' Plasma TV with surround sound in the master bedroom for a complete theater experience. There is just so much to do in the area!

About Owner

I started my career in a Venture Capital firm and created a Real Estate Investment Company at the age of 23. I have lived out of the country in places like Africa, Spain and Brazil and have spent a lot of time traveling all over the world. I grew up in Darien Connecticut and used to live in San Francisco and now reside near the beach here in Los Angeles. Presently I design and build homes and I am also a LA County Ocean Lifeguard.

Why Owner chose Montana

The property is amazingly located in that it is central to both Whitefish and Kalispell, easily accessable to the airport and most importantly is completely tranquil in its location in the woods. It sits at the back of a 10 acre lot and has another 20 acres of raw land to the North of it and has over 1,800 acres of State owned land on the other side of the dirt road at the end of the driveway. Everything is so close yet you feel completely isolated and hence completely relaxed when you are on this property.

Great Montana Hideaway!

We enjoyed spending three weeks at this beautiful cabin in the woods. It has such a remote feeling yet it is very close to attractions such as Glacier National Park, Whitefish, and Kalispell. We constantly made day trips into Glacier National Park and came "home" to a very warm environment. We were also able to hike and cycle directly from the property as well and relax, watch the wildlife, and enjoy the peacefulness of the sounds of nature. The cabin is well-furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen has all of the cooking utensils and tools that you need to create excellent meals. We really enjoyed our time at the cabin and will return soon! Thanks to Bob and Becky for their excellent recommendations of activities and taking great care of us!

Amazing cabin!

The cabin was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. There were five adults and three children in our party. We all loved it very much! Plenty of room for everyone. The beds were comfortable. I cooked a large breakfast for everyone one morning on the Wolf range and it was great to use. The pancakes turned out perfect! Very convenient location,close to Kalispell, Whitefish, and West Glacier. Would highly recommend this cabin.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful secluded cabin. The Wolfe stove was amazing! We saw deer and wild turkeys on the property which thrilled our grandkids. This cabin has everything you will need for a relaxing vacation near Glacier National Park! Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!!!

Beautiful Home in the Woods

This is a large and beautiful log home, well maintained, quiet, with a great master suite on the main level, and king-size beds in two additional bedrooms upstairs with accompanying full bath, plenty of space for friends and family to gather - there is a large great room, a wrap around porch, an excellent and well-equipped kitchen, plenty of privacy, yet easy access to Whitefish, Kalispell, and to Glacier Park. The owner, and the local caretaker were both great, and we would definitely recommend this property to others. A huge plus: dogs are allowed with an added fee which we felt was entirely reasonable. The property description is entirely accurate and this is a lovely home to rent -

Just as amazing as we remember.

This was the second time we stayed at Roberts log home.The pictures just do not do it justice secluded yet minutes from everything.We loved the huge kitchen and BBQing on the wrap around porch.

We can't wait to return in the winter it must be incredible.

I never come into my house before Becky comes in and cleans it but I came up to have a carport built out by the horse shed and came in immediately after you left and it was such a pleasure to see the way you treated my home! You clearly respected it and on top of that you left a $25 gift card for Becky for doing a good job which was so nice for her and will hopefully immediately bring you good Karma! Yes, the winter is fantastic up here - especially when you have two big fires roaring and there is a ton of snow on the ground. I also had the entire exterior treated as these Log Homes are incredibly maintenance intensive and the oil sealer deeply penetrates and makes the logs sit tighter together as the wood shrinks when I am all set for a fun winter up here! As always I discount returning renters and would love to have your family back in and I am so glad you guys had a wonderful vacation here!

Home Away From Home!

This was a family adventure for my husband and I, our three children and our lovely puppy Daag. We spent five nights filled with excitement and happiness! The kids' jaws dropped (mine too, I have to admit) when we pulled up to the house. It was magnificent, rustic and full of charm! We had many plans to try restaurants in Whitefish but I just couldn't resist cooking on that wonderful Wolf Range that the cabin provided. The kids loved every minute playing in the loft and outside on the property. Each bedroom was spacious and cozy. It was so quiet and peaceful you would swear you were hundreds of miles from civilization, but realistically only a few minutes drive from either Kalispell and Whitefish. Bob, the homeowner, was very proficient with supplying any and all the information we required. The caretaker was a very sweet lady as well! This is definitely a place we look forward to staying at again! Thanks to Bob for sharing such a wonderful little slice of Heaven in Montana!! :)
